Had a lovely overnight stay with husband and 2 grandchildren. The room was very spacious, the kids had their own beds and it was quiet. We used the pool which was very nice. Breakfast was good. All staff we spoke to were very friendly.

Stayed 2 nights

Unfortunately we stayed in room 19 which has a smelly drain problem & room next door was only separated from us by a mattress standing in the adjoining doorway, after reporting the drain problem we were given a different room which was perfect, thanks to the staff for their quick response. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which consisted of a tasty meat pie & chips which were covered in salt!! I like salt myself but these were extremely salty making most of them left on my plate, I was asked if there was a problem with my meal & when told about the Chips I was informed that the chef usually puts the salt on.....why? I presume this was why no condiments were on the table. The breakfast was okay, lots of choice but ours was overcooked & bacon frazzled we guessed this was due to a lack of staff as they were slow to take orders etc because there were only 3 of them & appeared to be rushed off their feet. We would stay there again as its a lovely building & staff pleasant and welcoming.

Staff were really friendly. Hotel was beautiful, as was our room except for the carpet. Stained pink in places and brown spots, told reception as was worried staying with two teenage boys they may have thought it was us! Lady was extremely apologetic and informed me that she would let the managers know. There were also sweet wrappers under the bed which were not ours. Spa looked beautiful, but more for couples/adults relaxing so decided against ruining the vibe with teenage boys! Would visit again with friends or husband though. Restaurant again was beautiful, it did take 45 minutes for our starter to arrive but I think they were short staffed and lady was doing her very best. Once did arrive, food was lovely, as was breakfast. Would stay again as location excellent, staff friendly and think just got a bit unlucky with the carpet as the rest of the room was beautiful especially the bathroom.
