Room clean, spacious and comfortable. Our room and bathroom were overlooking village and castle. On a very busy road- people sitting on the top of double decker buses were a metre or so from our window, so very little privacy. Ended with curtains constantly drawn. Road also v loud until v late at night and starts up again 4.30-5am. That and hourly clock chimes through night made sleeping difficult. Take ear plugs for sleeping. Pretty garden, onsite parking and lovely breakfasts. Staff helpful.

Excellent location; on bus route and next to railway station. Excellent breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Only negative is that we had a room at the front of the hotel and the road is extremely busy throughout the day and night. If the windows are closed you do not hear the traffic but if they are open then you have little sleep. We had to keep the windows open as we stayed during the heat wave. Perhaps the hotel could provide fans during the summer months.

Quirky room and old hotel but great central location, easy parking and view of castle from the garden. Check in at the bar meant we had to wait as an order for 11 drinks was being taken ahead of us and only 1 person available. Comfy beds, good shower and the busy road quietened down overnight.

Had a lovely stay here. Staff were all very friendly and this is a lovely pub with a beautiful log burner. The breakfast was excellent, as was the food we had one evening when we dined here. Will definitely be back (hopefully when there's nicer weather) :)
