Third time staying but probably my least favourite experience. The Positives: swift (and early) check in, friendly front desk staff. Room spotlessly clean and comfortable. Quality (and varied) breakfast. Negatives: Top floor bar no longer open to all guests. Was told this "was for VIPs only" by staff member on desk. Disappointed as was looking forward to enjoying the lovely views over a drink with my daughter. Also quite embarrassed to be declined entry. Kind of goes against the leaflet provided at check in which says "Dear Valued Guest". Didn't feel very 'valued' in that instance. There is also a large amount of construction going on in front of the property which the hotel should be more open about when booking. Meant that relaxation time by the pool was a non-starter. Also prevented from using ground floor toilets while fireworks were on. I get why they don't want the hotel being used as a public toilet but, as a 'valued guest' I would expect to still be able to access them (especially as I had purchased drinks from their ground floor bar). Maybe put a staff member on to check room cards? Service also slow at the ground floor bar - waited 10 minutes to be served. Would I stay again? Maybe, but I kind of feel that the hotel is trading on previous high reputation. IMO, standards across the board have slipped. Might try the W next time..

Had a great stay. Amazing gym, friendly staff, close to so many dining and nightlife options. Across the street from the ICC. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice, on the 4th floor outdoors. Breakfast buffet had so many options, incredible. Highly recommend.

I love staying here but wish the cocktail/pool bar stayed open longer. Would also be nice if there was a pool option that was not for kids, couldn’t even get closed to the pool. Sadly all views at lower levels currently blocked by construction

The luxury service and feel of the accommodation was the best part. The rooftop pool and bar with views of Darling Harbour was the afternoon treat me and my partner enjoyed the most! Would definately stay again

The hotel was nice. Rooms were exceptional. Unfortunately the pool area let it down. The glass by the pool is dirty and the pool is a little too cold for a 5 star hotel. For what we paid we would expect those little bits to be better but a nice hotel overall. Great spot next to the light rail stop

Lovely place to spend a few days in Sydney. Can be a long wait for the elevators around check-out time. We waited about 15 minutes but others waited around 45 minutes. Can often hear the people in the rooms next door which isn’t ideal.

We always love the Sofitel but this time most of the lifts were broken. It was taking so long to get a lift to reception on our departure that us, and tens of others, walked down the emergency stairwell instead.

全体的に満足出来るレベルの施設です。優しいスタッフさんのサービスが特に印象的でした。景色を楽しみにしていたのですが大規模な工事が隣で行われている為少し残念でした。水回りの不備も無くプールも清潔でした。朝食会場がとても広く料理が置かれている場所が散らばっている為何度も取りに行く必要があります。ライブ形式でオムレツを作ってくれるパフォーマンスがあればもっと楽しめたと個人的に思います。また利用したいホテルです。

I stayed here for 3 nights and had a great experience. The front desk staff were very welcoming and check-in was fast. My room was spotless, with a comfortable bed and a nice city views.The hotel is just minutes walk from the Harbor, which made it easy to get around. Definitely good value for the price. I’d stay again!

Seems like this property is tiring quickly and most spaces are in need of a deep clean. Floors Around furniture and skirting boards, behind doors etc has years of dirt and dust. Used to stay here, went to Crown and recently come back here due to Crown being booked but won’t be returning. The new construction in front of this building will hinder view shafts considerably. Not an issue currently but something to consider in coming months.

Generally good and enjoyed the stay with view plus breakfast. Just needs to keep up with some general maintenance (e.g some visible stains on sofa probably from high usage just needing a good clean. Coffee machine was kind of half blocked but worked just enough for a cup with a few goes.). Overall would stay again.

This hotel has a really great view, especially if you choose a corner room. Even the 'non harbour view' rooms will see some of the harbour, but you won't see the fireworks. If held against the highest standard for a similar price (Four Seasons), this hotel is lacking. The room lights can only be set to off or FULL BLAST which is annoying when you want some dim room light and to enjoy the view, but dont need all of darling harbour seeing what you're doing (or wearing). Our night light was faulty on arrival. This was fixed but required engineering to attend. We could hear young children having meltdowns in the room next door, and also when other guests entered or left adjacent rooms. By contrast, the Four Season is silent. Service is also not up to expectations. Phone calls to the front desk left unanswered. Concierge unaware of things clearly described on the web site. Their much advertised 'croissanterie' in the lobby not available for room service. The hotel restaurant is said to be the same kitchen preparing room service, and is a '15' chef hat rating on AGFG, however the food delivered to the room was far below this standard. Check in counters can have a long wait, as can the lifts, especially if there's a conference on. For this price, every detail should be considered, and this hotel is just not top tier in this respect.

Great views from level 21 bar. TV was part of the mirror, and hard to view the TV content since mirror reflection was stronger . Reception and concierge staff were so helpful.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable, but they need a chair or real couch instead of the uncomfortable half couch abomination that’s in there. View was excellent. Breakfast was excellent, but pricey. I thought the dinner was average. Close to public transport and the area is walkable. Staff was awesome and always available to help. The hotel itself is probably a little above average, but the staff is what pushes the rating higher.

Husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Sofitel is our favourite spot as it is where we had our Honeymoon 5 years ago and where we plan to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. The only issue we had this trip was that we had to wait for over an hour past normal check in time (after 4pm) for the room to be ready, and even then I had to try and approach multiple staff member before we were told that the room was actually ready. We were pretty disappointed by this as we only had the one childless night before having to return home and to have to spend over an hour of it sitting in the lobby was not ideal.

For the price you’re paying I would look elsewhere, self check in was down so it took 45 minutes to check in as there were only 2 staff members serving (on a long weekend) had to wait 20 minutes for an elevator constantly and my breakfast would’ve never came if I hadn’t called an hour later. It is a clean hotel and great in terms of location but service not the best. A lot of the amenities in the room were also missing and had to place calls for alot of things (took 45 minutes ).

We chose to stay at the Sofitel due to its proximity to the ICC. The staff at the Sofitel were amazing, from the door staff to the desk and wait staff. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. Dinner on Saturday night at the Atelier was delicious. Would definitely stay again. Special thanks to Matilda and Miguel, who were absolutely delightful.

The room was comfortable and clean. Door staff were friendly and proactive. Somehow the reception staff was a complete let down. Slow, understaffed and made errors. Check-out was made simple as I was told I can simply return the keys and any additional charges would be charged directly to my card. That somehow resulted in me being double-charged for the room. That is despite it being confirmed at check-in that I’ve already paid. When I came to pick up my suitcase I had to queue up for 25mins to speak to someone about this issue at reception. This was at 3pm which is their standard check-in time and the hotel had only 2 staff manning the reception desks. The queue had about 4 groups before me when I started queuing up. By the time it was my turn, there were about 6-7 groups after me also getting frustrated by the long wait. The service is shocking for a hotel that claims to have 590 rooms. Hopefully it’s something they’ll improve. In terms of my refund, they said it’ll take up to 7 days to process and the staff didn’t offer much more than an explanation that someone made an error and didn’t acknowledge that it was an inconvenience to us.

Have stayed before prior to having a baby and it was amazing. Stayed now having a baby and requested a cot at booking time and also at check in which was confirmed. The room wasn’t ready so we had to go to our event and then come back and the cot wasn’t in the room and the baby was asleep and had to wait 40mins for the cot to arrive after calling. Called for ice took 40mins, called for cutlery took about 25mins . The baby change table in the lobby disabled bathroom was in a angle and had to prop your knee up to keep it level

We stayed at this hotel because of the large mall and numerous restaurants and cafes; it turned out the mall had been demolished and restaurants closed; ongoing construction every day and each taxi ride to anywhere was very expensive. Nice hotel but extremely inconvenient

Good location to stay at if you need to get to the convention centre but, kind of out of the way for anything else. At first, The staff wouldn't honour the free breakfast each morning despite me showing the email confirmation that says i had breakfast included of which is why I booked the accommodation via wotif.

I had a fantastic stay at the Sofitel Darling Harbour! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and attentive. Convenient location next to the ICC, 80m walk from Convention Tram station, 10-15 min walk from Central station. The hotel is clean, modern, with good amenities including comfy slippers. Self checkin and the digital key (if u have the Accord Hotel app) is so handy. No need to wait in queues when you check in. Easy walk to Darling Square and China Town, highly recommended!

On two occasions I ordered poached eggs and they took a while to arrive. They were also cold which is very disappointing. I also had to wait for coffee to be served even though the waiting staff take the order as soon as they sit you down.

This was our first stop on our 3 week Australian trip, and it did not disappoint!! The staff were so warm and welcoming, the hotel is modern clean and smells lovely!! And the food was fantastic, the breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve ever had, so much choice and everything cooked to perfection. Staff are so attentive but not to the point where they’re hovering, pitched perfectly!
