It was unfortunate that the shower mixer was not functioning properly no was the toilet giving a good flush that could not flush away toilet paper at times. We were only staying there for one night! So can’t comment if it was fixed. I was told that the property is old and things go wrong! I don’t accept that comment surely thay should have been fixed and fully operational when we use them for the first time! When we were leaving the hotel the elevator stopped working with my wife and son in it. I would not recommend this property to anyone for staying longer than one night from our experience!

Friends got stuck in lift twice. Our shower controls were so stiff we couldn’t stop it dripping. When we ordered brandy they gave it to us in tumblers, When we asked for brandy glasses the member of staff was very rude. Breakfast service could be more efficient. Cereals, conserves and fruit could be put out so people can help themselves. People don’t mind doing their own toast. Taking orders at breakfast was very slow could be more efficient. Some staff very helpful like receptionist others couldn’t care less. Bedroom windows need attention and lots of scuff marks on walls. Bottle of white wine ordered for dinner wasn’t cold no excuse for that. We were offered ice to put in it but eventually we did get another one free of charge. Need to find an eco friendly cleaner for toilets if you don’t want to use bleach.

A lovely hotel that has been renovated. A couple of flaky areas could be cleaned and removed and whilst our room was lovely with a sea view there was a problem with the shower where we couldn’t get it warm and when we did we couldn’t turn it off. The room was quite hot even with the aircon and was fixed at a minimum of 19c which is not low enough mid summer. Please note there is no mini bar fridge in the room and the WiFi keeps disconnecting. The breakfast and staff were great but we did notice some bickering with staff in front of customers during a busy spell the afternoon before. All in all a lovely hotel and very dog friendly but I would expect these issues to not happen for the price of the room

Friendly staff throughout. We loved the building and the orangery. Deluxe sea view room was lovely with comfy bed. The food in the evening was great and there was an extensive cocktail menu too. Will definitely return.

A nice hotel . Staff friendly and helpful. Problems with parking - insufficient spaces most times of the day. Room reasonably good with minor gripes - safety catches on windows broken and bedside light flexibility broken, annoying hum outside the room although the night plus periodic water noises. Breakfast very good although a buffet of cereals and juices would have improved things. A very nice system of milk for tea making - in small vacuum flasks.Overall 7/10.

The Marine Hotel was located in a great position for views and walks to Whitstable town and harbour. The room was well presented and comfortable to stay in. There were some signs of damp and wear and tear, it's probably due a refresh soon. The staff were very helpful and polite when checking in/out and booking meals. Food in the restaurant was lovely and not over priced. Breakfast was cooked freshly and was again very tasty. Overall it was a nice stay but I didn't feel I got value for money, this was not a cheap hotel for a mid week autumn stay.

Fabulous view with balcony Superior room did not have robes. Paint work in bathroom and bedroom needs addressing. Bath area needs good clean. Carpet in place’s disgusting. Bed comfy, as were coffee and tea facilities. Would stay again, but would not pay the room rate for this room!

Nice hotel and location though the rooms need a refresh the furniture was very chipped and the bathroom was not very clean and the maintenance on the bathroom needs improving esp the state of the sealant. Nice staff and fab view just needs some attention to detail

This hotel was excellent. The staff were delightful, everyone very friendly and very helpful. The hotel had all of the amenities you would need bar a fridge in the room as other reviews have mentioned. This wasn’t an issue for us though, they give you milk in a thermos at the bar. The room itself did look a little tired in places but it’s a 3-star hotel so that was okay with us. That being said, it was very clean and comfortable which is what matters most. I would advise check booking through the hotel website directly, they do deals and I suspect I may have gotten the room cheaper directly than through Hotels.com, rookie mistake by me but it is what it is. Overall a great hotel made even better by its staff.

This hotel is in a superb location, right opposite the beach with roadside patking out front. The food and service is excellent. Wine and on tap beers also good. As with older hotels, the rooms vary and there are 3 floors with lots of staircases, but when we asked for a different room, we were happy with our alternative. Some sea rooms have balconies - those looked the best and we would book that next time. Excellent cooked breakfasts included and vg and gf catered for.

The staff are great. The receptionist and breakfast team particularly good. We stayed in a second floor front facing room which was large and comfortable. The shower was small and the water pressure/temperature difficult to control. They are having air conditioner units fitted which will be great. Unfortunately ours was not fully commissioned but they did give us a fan. Breakfast was good. Don't bother with drinking the expresso martini - not sure what recipe they use but even after a re-try it was insipid. The hotel location is great although we did take a taxi into Whitstable for dinner although we did walk into the harbour during the day.

Spent one night here as it's one of my bucket list items. The room was lovely, overlooking the sea and slopes, very quiet even with being above the outdoor seating area. The staff were also lovely. I especially enjoyed talking to the older receptionist on duty when I went out for fish and chips in the evening. She even went out of her way when I booked out the following morning to come home, coming outside the hotel to say goodbye and wish me a nice day. (She was busy on the phone when I checked out). The downsides to the room were the pillows, very lumpy, the mattress, also lumpy, gave me a backache and the toilet roll was extremely thin. I think they need better quality toilet rolls for the price you pay for the room. I loved the fact that they ask you if you'd like fresh milk for the room, when you book in, and give you a small thermos flask from the fridge with fresh milk. The breakfast was also good although the poached eggs weren't as hot as they should have been.

Harley who is actually a chef was so helpful - I could not get out of the stairwell as they are locked at night ( there is a night exit but the main stairwells are locked )- It was very difficult to navigate all the stairs alone with the main doors locked . There was nobody on reception when I called the night staff . Harley helped me . He was very kind and should be thanked

Very friendly welcome and beautiful hotel full of character in a sea from location. Room very comfortable and well appointed, including good quality tea tray items and coffee machine. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Great value for money and higher standard than the price suggested. Standout feature was that every member of staff was friendly, efficient and engaging and made our stay perfect.

When we ordered brandy they gave it to us in tumblers, When we asked for brandy glasses the member of staff was very rude. Breakfast service could be more efficient. Cereals, conserves and fruit could be put out so people can help themselves. People don’t mind doing their own toast. Taking orders at breakfast was very slow could be more efficient. Some staff very helpful like receptionist others couldn’t care less. Bedroom windows need attention and lots of scuff marks on walls. This hotel was excellent. The staff were delightful, everyone very friendly and very helpful. The hotel had all of the amenities you would need bar a fridge in the room as other reviews have mentioned. This wasn’t an issue for us though, they give you milk in a thermos at the bar. The room itself did look a little tired in places but it’s a 3-star hotel so that was okay with us. That being said, it was very clean and comfortable which is what matters most. I would advise check booking through the hotel website directly, they do deals and I suspect I may have gotten the room cheaper directly than through Hotels.com, rookie mistake by me but it is what it is. Overall a great hotel made even better by its staff.

This hotel is in a superb location, right opposite the beach with roadside patking out front. The food and service is excellent. Wine and on tap beers also good. As with older hotels, the rooms vary and there are 3 floors with lots of staircases, but when we asked for a different room, we were happy with our alternative. Some sea rooms have balconies - those looked the best and we would book that next time. Excellent cooked breakfasts included and vg and gf catered for.

The Marine Hotel is a really lovely venue situated in the perfect seafront location. We were pleasantly surprised by our room, it was spacious, clean and freshly decorated. The bed was very comfortable and linen was crisp and fresh, ticked all my boxes, so it was - 5 stars all round. Loved our seaview too! I was a bit disappointed with breakfast, the service was slow and just didn’t match my expectation of The Marine. It was okay though. It might’ve been because there had been a park run outside and a large number of the runners came into the hotel for coffee/breakfast etc Overall though, I was very satisfied with my stay at The Marine Hotel. I would definitely stay there again and so would recommend it☺️

We booked here because everything else was full. What a great surprise. Wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed two nights. The breakfast is AMAZING!!! The chef is a perfect breakfast cook. The pancakes are amazing, the poached eggs on the eggs benedict were perfectly cooked and the service was great. I want to stay here again just to have breakfast. It was the best food we had while in England.

We had an amazing stay at the weekend! Room was lovely and the staff were fab! Just be v careful in the car park, it’s very tight. Someone bashed our car and sadly there is no CCTV in the car park :( Not entirely sure the electric spaces are all needed….
