The pub and restaurant are nice but the hotel is disgusting. It is dilapidated, dirty and needs complete renovation. Carpets are filthy, woodwork is peeling on doors and edgings and paintwork is tired and dirty. The only consolations were that the bed was reasonably comfortable and the shower is good. Other than that - avoid!

Room basic, clean, tea and coffee, kettle in room. Nice view, ample parking. Brilliant for the price. Food in restaurant excellent, good prices. Breakfast superb.

This Hotel is fine for the process a former Premier Inn. The rooms need updating, especially the bathroom. Though my room had a decent tv and the bed was comfy. The restaurant next door was very good

Lovely pub/restaurant, very homely, well decorated, tidy, clean. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Bit short staffed but those that worked out in extra effort so the level of service was still good.

Staff were very friendly & helpful, food in the restaurant was very good as was the service. The only disappointment was the Room, very tired & dated decour and furniture. Bathroom was just the same, however the shower was excellent !

We stayed in rooms 9 and 10. Leaking roof in hallway with age related stain. Stained Carpers in room. Skirting boards hanging off. Heater in room just hung below window, Old with no remedial decoration around. Bad signage to internal areas. Food average with major problem on the Sunday when arriving back to have Sunday Roast at 17:30 told "No Meat Left" just some potatoes and Veg Left. At this time there were heated exchanges between other guests about the lackof food. Kitchen staff NO INTEREST IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. The only Member of Staff who SHONE during our 3 days stay was SOUKI. (Not sure about spelling) She was absolutely amazing in her efforts to help us. The General Manger was aware of the food issues and the fact that not enough was prepared for the Hotel Resident s and the Locals. Cannot recommend this Hotel at all.

Old, dated, dingy, mouldy bathroom, dark lighting, arrived and both radiators were flat out so room was stuffy and hot, windows only open a jar so took ages to cool down. Corridor smelt like wee! Won’t be returning there.

Run down, shabby, carpets are filthy, paint peeling off the walls. In fairness the bed was comfortable. I didn't take breakfast as I was worred about the cleanliness of the place. Chose to eat out at a different pub. It's a big place, with potential, but it's being run on a shorestring staff and needs some investment.

We have used this hotel on numerous occasions. The accomodation realy needs a refurbishment. The room we staying this time the carpet outside the toilet/shower was wet and the room smelt very musty. We informed reception and because they were fully booked they could not offer us an alternative. We had no choice but to stay as we could not afford to go to another hotel at short notice and there was no offer to put us up at another hotel. After this experience I will not be returning to this hotel

Our family room was completely unfit for purpose with black mold on every inch of the walls in the bathroom, metal peeling off the shower rail, thick dust on the lamps/ bed, faulty electrical sockets and pest control traps under the bed. If I thought another room would’ve been better than i would have exchanged but looking into other reviews , this hotel really needs renovating with better management. We were lucky to get a refund after our stay and before we even mentioned which room we were staying in for our complaint, the manager had already said is it room 31. This makes it clear that they know the state of the rooms but still rent it out which is disgusting for families. I would not ever book this hotel.

Hotel was in a beautiful location and handy little tesco nearby, Positives - Staff cleaned room daily and made bed etc (not changed sheets but made bed and emptied bins) - Lovley location - Convient location and option of food etc on site - Large bed (2 singles together) - Powerful Shower Negatives - Bed was really not very comfortable and took a few nights to get used to it but was still very uncomfy - Counldnt control room temp and found nights to be quite moggy with poor airflow, had the window open the whole time but didnt help and room ended up full of bugs and spiders. - Bathroom very dated. - Wifi did not reach room so no wifi in bedroom.

Looks like an old premier inn. Decor and rooms are tired but had a great sleep, room was clean and had a really powerful shower. Good for the price

Hotel needs a complete refurb. Very shabby, had to switch rooms as l had no heat the first night

Stayed in a ground floor room, it was clean but needs updating. The room above me, the floor boards, wow, for some reason between 12am and 3am the were wandering their room which meant i couldnt sleep for the floor

The rooms are very tired. One plug socket in the bedroom. Food in the restaurant was aweful, especially considering how expensive it was.

Suki & her team were super-friendly, efficient and helpful. The room, although a little dated was very clean, extremely comfortable and very well serviced. All the food was superb and the huge, sumptuous breakfast was served with a smile to get your day off to a flying start. Great selection of drinks, with beautifully conditioned Cask Marque accredited real ales all with friendly, professional serving staff. Great central location to visit a number of great attractions, including the Weedon Bec Ordnance Museum, just a few hundred meters down the road, the Heart of the shires artisan shopping village and you can go to feed the lambs, calves & goats at Flore Farm just a mile away! Highly recommend this venue, but please note that the rooms are not modern, but need some TLC, however with giant hypnos premier inn beds/bedding, you'll get a perfect night's sleep! The less than luxury rooms are still clean and tidy and as far as value for money goes, it's well worth every penny. Can't wait to stay again with Suki & her amazing staff!

The whole place looks neglected and in need of a good clean and upgrade. Staff not welcoming at all with the exception of Michelle the waitress on the Thursday evening and the bubbly waitress who served us at breakfast on the Friday.

The hotel was closed when I arrived later in the evening and I had to walk around in the dark car park to try to find reception which wasn’t clearly marked. It was closed too but I managed to find someone in the bar opposite and they told me the hotel had been closed because there was no hot water. Apparently tired let me a phone message but this hadn’t come through because I’d been out of signal area. They should have emailed me. I am a 75 years old lady who does not enjoy trying to find accommodation in my own in the dark. Why wasn’t there a phone number to ring? I am disgusted especially as I was tolls by the barcstaff that they had rung me 3 times and left messages as if it was my fault!!! There was only one message that came through and no other missed calls on my phone.

Good value for the price. Needs refurbishing but this is nade up by the great friendly and helpfull staff. Food in the pub is great food and value. Book early for a table to ensure you get one.

The staff at the hotel and in the restaurant were great, and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was average I had veggie option and sausages felt like they were wrapped in plastic, husband had normal and he also felt his sausages were poor, Coffee option not good. The room we were in def needs updating, hole/dent in bathroom door, musky smell on first entering room. When flushing the toilet water pressure so great that even with lid/seat down the floor got wet also the seat, so I had to remember to wipe the seat dry every time. The Shower was extremely hard to get to correct temp, and because only shower curtain floor was far too wet after which could be a slip hazard. Main door closer was hanging off. The biscuits in the room were a nice touch.
