Older hotel with heavy fire doors. I found it a challenge getting to and from my room with my luggage. Other than that it was a nice place to rest my head for 2 nights while visiting Galway. Plenty of parking. Restaurant was nice.

A large family run hotel built in the 1960s but which has clearly been well maintained and looked after over the years. The room was comfortable, ample free parking and we were happy with our stay. Breakfast was ok but room for improvement

Third time staying here and always a great choice. Excellent food, spacious & comfortable rooms & lovely staff. Only marked down a star for two minor reasons. 1. The residents bar should stay open later like almost every other Irish hotel. 2. Whoever selected the tapware in the bathrooms should have a rethink, the shower was impossible to figure out & the sink was almost completely unusable due to the massive intrusive single tap.

This is the smallest room I have stayed in so far anywhere in Ireland. As part of my job I stay out of hotel rooms at least 3 days a week. Flanneys is a nice clean and tidy hotel but the room is very very small with no space to sit and use your laptop on the table and chair which was inconvenient to me I had to go down to the lobby to work on my laptop. Everything else was fine

Nice hotel, we added the full breakfast which was very good and the breakfast staff was great. No AC so we had to have the window open and it was very noisy with car doors closing during the night.

Temperature in the rooms cannot be individually controlled and one room was really hot. The doors slam when closing and voices carry through the hallways. I could not sleep past 6:45 am any of the three mornings due to noise.

Lovely comfortable and spacious Room, very clean. Only downside was the noise from other guests as the door did not fully seal with the frame therefore was not noise proof and the doors slammed closed, the noise from the slamming doors and other guests walking down the corridor to their rooms and then the slamming of the doors kept waking/me awake. But all in all a very pleasant experience

It’s very true - the staff is so helpful and accommodating! The room was wonderful, exactly what we needed, parking was a breeze, and we walked to downtown entertainment district Galway, a few kilometres - no problem. Thank you to the staff! Wonderful!

The area of town is nothing special, but we enjoyed watching rugby practice at the adjacent pitch. Two issues were the shower; the pressure was good but the design is poor. There was water all over the floor afterwards. The second issue was really poor service in the restaurant, both at dinner and at breakfast. Apparently, being short handed is an issue outside of the US as well.

General Manager Dara and his staff were awesome and helped us out of a very difficult situation. We arrived for a 3 day stay at the nearby Maldron Hotel but they had cancelled our reservation the day of our arrival. They claimed they couldn’t verify payment and said they tried to call. We we arrived at 5 PM but they said our room was no longer available. They made no effort to help us. We we lucky to get a 3 day reservation at the Flannery but there was an issue with our first night stay. Dara and his staff worked to find a solution for that. When we returned the next day we received an upgrade to a suite and had a lovely stay. This is a very nice hotel with Irish charm and fantastic customer service. Highly recommend!

First two nights were great, staff were friendly and I felt happy staying there. Then it changed with a very rude member of staff at breakfast. So put off my the experience, I avoided going the next morning, and dreaded it afterwards. Last day, checking out. Waiting for taxi to arrive to go to Shannon Airport, 1 hr drive away. No orher seats available to sit and wait in reception. Only these two. Other was occupied. Pointed out the inconsideration of another traveller, blocking an entire seat to Manageress on reception desk, who, instead of being helpful by asking the owners to remove the pile of suitcase, thought it best to be rude argumentative. Really wasn’t interested. Finally did manage to secure a seat, ever so briefly, as the taxi driver was early. And how sarcastic was the Manageress. Totally uncalled for.. Thing is, don’t dare say anything at all. It is not appreciated. That is the clear impression I got. So, to me that was just the last straw. I won’t be back. Sad, how a great hotel and amazing staff can be let down by just two individuals who clearly don’t like their jobs, and have no interpersonal skills dealing with the public in hospitality. It really wasn’t a big ask, was it??

This Hotel exceeded every expectation for our family. The front desk staff was kind, thoughtful and amazing! They answered every question and gave so many terrific recommendations. The bus is directly in front of the hotel. It’s a double-decker we rode it to and from Galway city every day with ease!

Great stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had a bit of an old fashioned feel but that added to the charm of it. A bit outside of town but the bus was convenient right out front. The restaurant was nice and enjoyed the food but it could get quite hot in the evening when busy due to lack of air conditioning.

This is a nice hotel with an attentive staff. The restaurant has excellent food. We had problems with the toilet but they sent someone to fix it immediately. We enjoyed our stay at Flannery’s Hotel.

The hotel was easy to deal with, both getting into and for getting into the city. The room was great. What I didn’t like was the breakfast. It was unclear how to pay for the breakfast (since the Expedia rate didn’t include breakfast). Once I finally paid (off to the side at the bar) I had to go back to the host desk to be seated. It was a poorly apportioned buffet where the fried eggs’ yolks were cook d solid after being under the heat lamp so long.

L’hôtel ne correspondait pas au tarif payé. Pour 2 nuits payé 527€, on s’attendait à mieux. Pour commencer, le petit-déjeuner était médiocre: si on voulait un chocolat chaud ou un expresso, on devait payer un supplément. L’hôtel a besoin de rafraîchissement. On a cru que l’hôtel était plus proche de la ville, mais c’était l’inverse. Pour sortir faire des achats, il n’y avait rien aux alentours et on devait prendre la voiture. En revanche, le lit était très confortable et le personnel de la réception était très accueillant.

Breakfast was very good, and plenty of staff and well organised. Nice bar and dining area, only gripe is the floors creak a bit and could hear noise from other rooms. But apart from that it's very good and reasonablely priced.

Simply put, The Flannery Hotel is one of the best kept secrets in Galway. An exceedingly clean, comfortable place to stay, with two fine restaurants, an excellent bar, and service that surpasses your expectations. Our room was clean, quiet, and modern. We chose this hotel because we needed parking and the parking was excellent -- plentiful, well-lit, and safe.
