Staff where very accommodating, it was busy due to a party at the time but we still git served dinner without waiting too long. Nice atmosphere, the breakfast was nice too.

The Hotel is a beautiful building. It's architecture alone is a sight to behold, and it's location too is perfect. We received a very warm welcome from the helpful lady at reception. It was great to see that the bar was open when we arrived just after 4pm. We had driven for hours and needed a break. All the bar staff are friendly and very accommodating. The bar area has great views of the surrounding countryside. We felt relaxed. A table was reserved for us for supper, one by the windows so we could take in the vista. Dinner menu is not overly complicated and reasonably priced. The only negative was within our room ( room 14). It was cold and we had to request that the heating be turned on. The windows were letting cold air into the room. We understand that the windows are the originals and need to be in keeping with the building; however some secondary glazing would be ideal. That would also drown out the sound of the busy road below. All night one can hear traffic, especially the lorries which seem to go on all night. We did not sleep too well despite the bed being super comfy and fresh linen. Check the toilet in the room. It was leaking during the night. Perhaps ensure there is some heating in the morning too as it was a chilly day and we struggled to take a shower in a cold bathroom. The breakfast room is lovely, and set up well. The chap who served us was really helpful and friendly. All the staff there are lovely and do a fantastic job.
