Great place, lovely friendly staff. Quiet room for undisturbed sleep. Parking at NCP convenient and cheaper if you load the app and pay with that. Wish I’d known there was an adjacent pool and gym next door (not part of the hotel but accessible with a reduced price agreement with the hotel). Would definitely stay here again

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Stockport. Overall, the room was very nice — it felt new, clean, and the bed was really comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the corridor when I first arrived, but thankfully it was quiet throughout the night, so I slept well. The staff were friendly and welcoming too. One thing to be aware of: when I booked through Hotels.com, I filtered for hotels with parking, but this hotel doesn't actually have its own parking. Instead, there's an NCP car park nearby which cost £14.95 for 24 hours (if you pre-book), so that's something to factor into the total price. Otherwise, it was a good stay and I'd be happy to return, keeping the parking situation in mind next time.

I wish all hotels could just be honest about parking up front. Hotel notes as parking available, what they don’t tell you it is a charge of £14.95 per night. Lady at reception said “we don’t validate parking anymore”. Hotels.com, please update your policy

Great stay, excellent staff and good room. Only criticism the drip strip ad silicone on the shower was very grubby and needs a deep clean on the shower door. As no on site parking used the NCP which is very convenient but expensive.

Doesn’t have its own car park but we downloaded app for NCP car park which is only a 2 minute walk. Quite flat but still a challenge with luggage! Friendly check in staff Accessible room. Comfortable bed and wet room shower and toilet very clean. It was quite noisy until about 1.30 am with music from nearby nightclub. Had an early start so just had time for a bowl of cereal at breakfast but they looked to be plenty of buffet choices.

Great hotel and ideal for getting to Manchester as the railway station opposite! Only cost us £12 return for 2 adults. Good breakfast included in the price. Pity it’s not got its own car park but NCP a couple of minutes away. Our car was parked for 2 day and nights without any problems.

Needed a stopover for the night. Busy bar and Sainsbury’s directly opposite and then a late bar on site. Great location although no free parking, NCP 2 min walk. Very clean although this could be down to relatively new build. Will use again

I was a bit disappointed with the underlying smell of mold in the bathroom as I am very allergic. I woke up asthmatic which isn’t what you want. I’ve stayed at many IHG properties as we are members. They need to get this sorted out.

The room had dust on the shelf where the tv was . There was mould in the shower. We didn’t like the pillows . Breakfast was luke warm wasn’t hot. Would have liked flavoured yogurts. More croissants as they ran out quick and wasn’t topped up. Pain au chocolate etc would have been nice

We stayed in room 106. This was an adapted disability access room, which we didn’t require these amenities. The carpet was heavily stained in two areas. The bathroom was disability accessible. It felt like being in a residential home rather than a hotel. The shower curtain was stained. The toilet was difficult to flush. There was the remainder of some kind of fitting removed from the bathroom wall but no attempt had been made to fill the holes on the wall. Opposite the hotel is a nightclub which was very loud until past 1am, which got very loud everytime someone entered or left the club.

Amazing stay, very friendly and accommodating staff for my health needs, sensitive approach and went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable! The room was perfect, bed comfy and as a user of one of the accessible rooms, I would I highly recommend this inclusive hotel to all! A very happy customer:)

The hotel was clean, comfortable and operated by friendly and helpful staff. Just one thing, we stayed on a Saturday night in room 305 facing the station and Bask Bar. The bar played really, really loud music until 3.00am. We couldn't sleep. The hotel management was sympathetic but powerless to act. Be aware.

The room was spotless, and the staff were amazing. In particular Kasey made sure we were all set up, and felt welcome. She was clear with directions and lovely to chat to, an absolute star. The breakfast was all fresh and the staff ensured the coffee machines were regularly topped up.

We stayed overnight before a wedding, groom, best man, father of the bride, rooms are clean and comfortable, staff were great, special mention to ELLIE, she was more excited than us, kept us calm, helped out with tailoring in the morning, took photos, THANK YOU ELLIE!! Breakfast was good, lots of choice, as much as you like. Overall, a great stay!!

This is my 4th stay with you and I have never been let down by this hotel. I have to bring to your attention the excellent service I received last night when I was dropped off by a colleague after a night out only to leave my handbag in the back of her car!!! Josh and Ellie on reception were fabulous! They tried all sorts of ways for me to contact her to come back with my bag as it had my phone, money...just everything I needed (including the room card) to get to work the next day! They emailed another colleague of the situation asking her to contact the driver and then conducted a search on LinkedIn so that I could obtain the number of the manager. They then called his number so I could speak with him and the bag was returned 10 minutes later. They truly are a credit to your hotel. Lovely young people and Josh is exceptional. Calm and helpful and...charming! Thank you Holiday Inn, you've got me as a (returning) customer for a long time to come!

Overall it was good. I was a bit disappointed that the car parking was not free and it appeared to be listed as free when I booked. I was also disappointed with the receptionist when I arrived as she was answering Like a robot and as if she was not speaking to a human being and a little the abrupt but had a smile, however, the breakfast staff were extremely good. I also made a mistake in booking a room for people with disabilities and again I was given a very abrupt response and told Straight away there was nothing that could be done.

The receptionists and restaurant staff were all friendly and helpful from start to finish. The hotel is in a clean/rejuvenated area of Stockport and is itself modern and clean. Despite the train station outside, and bearing in mind we had a room looking directly at the trains/station, there's zero noise from outside. Unfortunately on the first night there were 2 rooms that were having a party or something (they kept going in and out of each others rooms, talking very loudly and playing music), but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the hotel staff sorted that out. After that it was super quiet inside and out. The breakfast is decent, there's a good amount of choice, and the staff there kept everything topped up. Overall a great stay, and will use them again when we're next up that way!

We have never stayed at this chain of hotels before. If they are all like the one in Stockport we have been missing out. From a warm, professional welcome to our friendly farewell I and my 2 travelling companions could not fault one thing. Five stars in every respect. We have stayed in five star hotels where staff have not been as wonderful as the Stockport hotel workers are. Staff here could teach many others a thing or two.May I say a particular thank you to the cheery ladies who were around at breakfast time, replenishing food so no one went hungry. Your smiles made our day. My husband asked for a ‘packed lunch’ to be ready for 10am (train to catch). Brilliant receptionist had it all sorted in time. I am only sorry I did not note any names - I was mesmerised by how outstandingly good this hotel is. A stone’s throw from the railway station. Sound proofing so good one could hardly hear any noise at all. Why this hotel chain has escaped me all these years I do not know but this particular hotel is up there with the best. Heartfelt thanks from 3 travellers who were pleased to experience a home from home and who were reassured, in these troubled times,that great hospitality still exists.

Breakfast very disappointing! Brilliant service from the waitresses but overall service let down by condition and quality of the prepared food . The Cooked breakfast food in our opinion was not up to standard, especially the bacon , sausages , and potato rosti ! Temperature of food was barely warm , while a lot of the bacon was overcooked . A very comfortable stay. The hotel looks newly built, was clean and the staff were all very helpful. Breakfast is very good, full English- Just don’t be late as it’s all packed away quickly!

A decent hotel in a good location for transport. It was modern and clean, with good options for dining in. The breakfast was ok. I would have liked to of seen better options for vegetarians and a choice of eggs rather than just scrambled egg. The room was comfortable with a good powerful shower. We stayed for two nights and had a pleasant stay.
