Strand Guesthouse

My experience at this hotel was a far cry from what was advertised. Upon check-in, I was surprised to find additional charges, including nightly parking fees despite ample parking space available onsite, as well as a R250 per person damages deposit, which I declined to pay, leading them to take my driver's license as collateral. The floors, made of black polished concrete, were a constant source of frustration as stepping out of the shower inevitably resulted in blackened feet. I must commend the gentleman who assisted me during my stay; he was very helpful and professional. However, it's evident that the issues I encountered are systemic and not reflective of his efforts. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel to others. The restrictive policy displayed prominently in the reception area prohibiting the consumption of alcohol on the premises struck me as excessive, even though I personally do not drink. Overall, my experience fell short of expectations.

Finger weg von dieser Unterkunft. Ich wurde am 31.12.2022 (Silvester) von diesem Hostel rausgeworfen, nur weil ich nicht zu meinem Zimmer konnte,da ein Auto den Weg versperrte. Der Eigentümer war nicht vor Ort. Nur ein Freund der mir klar machte, dass ich gehen soll. Das war um 10:00 Uhr abends. Ich wollte noch diskutieren, da hat er mich auf offener Strasse angegriffen. Zimmerschlüssel hat er mir auch abgenommen und nur nach mehrmaligen auffordern konnte ich meine Sachen packen und die Unterkunft mit meinem Auto fluchtartig verlassen. Ich glaube der Typ war schon um 10 besoffen. Geld für Schlüsseldepot und Garage sind weg. Habe 6 Blocks weiter im Auto gepennt.
