Check in took a while as reception was dealing with awkward customer on the phone. Room spacious and clean with ample power and usb points. Good shower. Reasonable menu although it seemed more limited than last year so when staying 4 nights this may be an issue. That being said plenty of other dining options within walking distance. Ample parking.

Super friendly & helpful staff! More like a really nice motel than hotel overall (also considering the price for one night) but we slept well, the sheets and duvets were clean and there was a bath in the bathrooom. The restaurant/pub was quaint and charming, with very service minded, quick, social and kind staff. Offers traditional hotel breakfast between 7-11 in the mornings, and it was calm and nice around 9.30 when we ate ours. There's NO elevator, which is a bummer, and there's also full carpeting, which makes the wheels on luggage a bit harder to roll/pull - but definitely not impossible. Well located/situated hotel, close to bus stop so you can take a bus into Edinburgh for example. Located right next to a huge cinema and lots of restaurants and also a Starbucks across the streets if you want some coffee. The best thing here was the staff!

The hotel and restuarant attached were amazing, we werent expecting much as we saw it in a retail park on the maps, but was very surprised with how clean, tidy and very friendly the staff were. The hotels ideally situated just off the M90, so makes travelling about even easier.

You go to the restaurant/bar next door to check in. Good food but a bit strange to go to the other building first. Place was definitely not a five star, but once we got past the initial shock it turned out to be good for the price. No microwave or refrigerator. I would definitely stay there again to save money.

You need to check in at the pub and then walk to the next building for the rooms. There is No elevator. Location was great for dining options, beds were comfortable. Is a little bit noisy - the bathrooms are connected so you hear constant running water. The card is needed for the room lights to work, so make sure you request more than one.

The room was reasonably clean. It obviously hadn’t been used/cleaned recently as there was a light layer of dust over the kettle & hairdryer. I like that they offer a difffuser with the hairdryer. It was an okay location and clean & tidy enough that I would stay again. It was a little tired. But nothing problematic

Good position and parking. Great welcome from the employees at the pub in the afternoon. But we found a lot of hairs in the shower and some around the room, good temperature but not good cleaning, also the mugs for tea were dirty from previous usage. No lift. The waitress at the breakfast probably hates her job, was quite cold and served a very burned toast, at my request to change it the reply was simply that wasn't possible.

The reception desk is at the back of the restaurant next door and does not feel welcoming. The hotel itself feels sterile and strange as there there are no staff around. Room was clean but there was a wall being repaired so it made the room look shabby

Great wee hotel. Quiet, clean and friendly service. Breakfast was really good and made for you; not on a buffet style. It was therefore hot when it arrived. Close to shops and places to eat so fab.

Stayed here last year and was happy with everything, however one year on and the hotel area has nose dived significantly. Windows don't close, the carpets are really dirty, the rooms have had repairs and then painted over with different coloured paint. The hotel area felt grubby. The pub/restaurant was decent enough, food and drink was reasonably priced. I wouldn't stop there again however.

Great place to stay, very clean room and bathroom, nice price. Walkable distance to the coffee shops etc. Very nice and friendly staff, also help you no matter what the time is - I was checking in late at night. Great communication while contacting the help line of the property. Definitely would stay here again.

Room was outdated, everything seemed very old, wouldn’t stay there again. In fact, out of 5 hotels I’ve stayed in the UK, this is the only one I wouldn’t go back to.

The hotel was perfect and the local facilities were great however the noise from the cars into the night in the nearby car park was not so good. I would recommend the hotel but it is not quiet sometimes. Is there nothing you can do to restrict the car park being so noisy?

A pleasant enough almost motel-like hotel. I’d place it as above a travelodge, but below a Premier Inn. Had the usual lower end hotel room issues of some staining, dips in floor, lightly marked bedding etc, but overall decent value for what I paid. It did have a 4 star rating in the booking portal, but it would be a comfortable 3 star at best. Never used the adjacent bar/restaurant facilities apart from checking in, but they looked standard for the type of establishment. Handily positioned, and reasonably priced, it was perfect for what I needed it for.

Bathroom and bedroom doors were hard to open and close. When using the washroom at night the sound of moving the doors would probably l’y wake other tenants. The doors need to be sanded down.

The bed here was very comfortable and much better than numerous Travelodges we've stayed in recently. Despite it being a twin turned into a double the join wasn't very noticeable and the mattress was very comfortable. The only gripe for me was the shower head did look aged and the drain in the wet room didn't clear the floor quickly enough so you're stood in 2inches of water by the time you've finished but grab bars in all the right places. As a wheelchair user I found everything very accessible and would stay again. You do need to go into the pub for check in and handing the key back. We didn't eat there but did plan to, maybe next time!

Stayed here a few times. This time i arrived and checked No problem the guy was really friendly Arrived at my room to drop my case off. On arriving back I found the room was cold. Went to shut the window and noticed there was no handle on the window. So it didn’t shut fully. Also the air con unit (I think that’s what it is) just above the front door was making an awful noise the majority of the night.

I definitely recommend the hotel. The room was very clean, well looked after, and comfortable. The staff were all great. Shout out to James, Ryan, JR, Emma and everyone whose names I've forgotten. Highly recommend the restaurant. The food was very good. We particularly enjoyed The Carvery. It was a breeze taking the train into Edinburgh, but I wish we had time to explore Dunfermline, it's a beutiful small city.

The hotel itself was fine, clean, comfortable. However they have charged me twice for the room & despite me speaking to night porter & leaving message the same day I departed, to contact me regarding the problem & not responded to email I am extremely disappointed & angry. In all the years I have used hotels.com I have never had this happen!!!

The GREATEST part of my stay there was the manager JR. A great young man whom holds a great understanding of work ethics and customer service. If i didn't have other commitments I'd definitely stay a bit longer than i did.

The staff did not want to know, and actively ignore any issues as they are too busy in the pub There appears be little or no maintenance in the hotel. There were two contractor groups who had been there for a couple of weeks and had complained daily about issues, but nothing had ever been done

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE STAY. POLICE IN THE CORRIDOR OUTSIDE MY ROOM.AT 1.30AM WITH TWO EXTREMELY LOUD MEMBERS OF STAFF KNOCKING ON SOMEONES DOOR. I COULDN'T GET BACK TO SLEEP AND HAD A 8 SHIFT TO DO THEN A 3 HOUR DRIVE HOME. NEVER AGAIN

Stayed here to visit the Fringe. Good transport into City.. could have used park and ride but after weighing bus fares, drove to and from. The Hotel is convenient and has so much useful stuff in the area. Breakfast at the inn was great and well worth it. Will stay here again.

The hotel is surrounded by so many things to do and places to eat, easy to find and is very comfortable. Would stay here again!

The hotel was perfect and the local facilities were great however the noise from the cars into the night in the nearby car park was not so good. I would recommend the hotel but it is not quiet sometimes. Is there nothing you can do to restrict the car park being so noisy?

good location just passed forth road bridge, outside of Edinburgh. next to the pub, good dinner option. clean room, bath room and comfy bed.

Staff was fantastic especially the lad who checked us in on Tue 6th Aug 2024. Plenty of places to eat in the surrounding areas. On little issue was cars beeping near one of local eateries.

Clean, comfy and great price. Booked as a last minute option and was only used to sleep in, ticked every box. On par with holiday inn/travel lodge. Walls a little thin so you can hear people going along the corridor, but for the price point it’s perfect. Great location to get to Edinburgh quickly, and plenty of good options around it.

The hotel and restuarant attached were amazing, we werent expecting much as we saw it in a retail park on the maps, but was very surprised with how clean, tidy and very friendly the staff were. The hotels ideally situated just off the M90, so makes travelling about even easier.

Very good for price but food was not so good had ordered carvery but when we went to the counter the food was cold and no mash no cauliflower cheese . Chef said they had been very busy .

I definitely recommend the hotel. The room was very clean, well looked after, and comfortable. The staff were all great. Shout out to James, Ryan, JR, Emma and everyone whose names I've forgotten. Highly recommend the restaurant. The food was very good. We particularly enjoyed The Carvery. It was a breeze taking the train into Edinburgh, but I wish we had time to explore Dunfermline, it's a beutiful small city.

Checked in in the evening and staff were helpful. Room was basic, which was expected. I did seem to have a problem with my key, but the bar and reception staff were really helpful to resolve. The Aircon in the room seemed to only produce heat (minimum temp 22 degrees Celsius), which made the room very stuffy. Opening the window was the only way to cool the room, but being close to a busy dual carriageway, road noise was then a bit load. At breakfast, there was only 1 staff member around for serving people, who definitely didn't want to be there and customers seemed to be a massive inconvenience for her. There were items unavailable and the breakfast overall just seemed to have a hostile and negative atmosphere. Avocado on toast with eggs was nice, the pancakes were a rip off (3 measly small pancakes with some mushed frozen berry thing on them). Overall, room and breakfast was a bit expensive for what it was, we did sleep okay, but breakfast was a huge let down, and worse still, I saw that we could have got a significant discount on breakfast if we'd have booked it with the room, which was not an option on Expedia.

Great wee hotel. Quiet, clean and friendly service. Breakfast was really good and made for you; not on a buffet style. It was therefore hot when it arrived. Close to shops and places to eat so fab.

Clean, comfortable and did the job for £50 per night. Only slight negatives…there was only one set of towels for a twin room (fatherland teenage son booked), kitchen had limited food options due to kitchen issues (thankfully plenty of places to eat in the immediate vicinity. Just one more little point…at check out, was not asked if everything was ok.

Great location. Clean room although the aircon was a bit temperamental. Staff were exceptional - so helpful and friendly from front of house manager to cleaners but a special shout out to the young ladies behind the bar for being so welcoming and helpful. Have stayed here several times and would recommend.

The Sweet Chestnut pub was very nice with a good atmosphere, and food, drink and staff we great. Location was very good being in a complex with other places to visit, eat and drink. Associated accommodation was clean and tidy and well presented.
