A very nice place to stay, staff friendly and welcoming, room clean. Good food and ale, breakfast really nice - a step up from standard Tr@velodge fare. We are going to book another stay in August - all being well. Handy for the garden centre, and a quick stroll to the canal.

Fast to sort issues out, bedded assistance with their A/C in a room and the manager came promptly and sorted. Clean,comfy beds (we had 2 rooms booked), decent food. The playground was a great bonus.Highly recommended.

Did not realize there was no lift so that was almost a problem, but the staff were terrific and were able to make a room change in a fully booked hotel Food was very good but the table surfaces were very sticky except first thing in the morning Otherwise everyone was very nice and it was a good experience. We would book again

Great little cozy pub. Hotel rooms are in a separate building this nice and quiet. Included continental breakfast was extremely basic thus almost necessitating extra purchases. The additional breakfast items ordered were great. Our advice would be either include a descent/sufficient breakfast even if it means to charge for it rather than including it, the current solution seems to be included to just get people in the door. EV charging is available as a 50 kW quick charger abeit at a very high price. Ordinary slow chargers at a lower price would be welcomed when staying overnight anyway.

We enjoyed the stay and the room was clean and modern with super fast internet speed. There's a pub connected to the hotel and a playground liternally next to it. The hotel is well deserved for high ratings.

Was fine for one nights stay. Arrived late with a toddler and just wanted food and sleep. The restaurant was good and staff were happy to allow to take the food to the room. Bed was clean but unfortunately more attention to detail in the bathroom was needed. Huge dead moth on the floor along with a big green toe nail. Beard hair round the sink. Did bring to the attention of the staff at check out but they really did'nt seem to care.

The location is excellent to access Four Ashes. Pub with adjacent Hotel is convenient .However,my Room (111)was dirty and the Table had liquid stain marks.I complained at Reception. When I returned to the Room at end of day, nothing had changed. Very poor cleaners.

Room is ok and bed comfortable for a frw days stay locally visiting family in Penkridge. Only one issue was cleanliness of the room. Dusty surfaces in bedroom and around bathroom suggest it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly beforehand. Improve this and it wouldn’t be too bad for a short stay.

Clean hotel room in a convenient location for us. The only downsides were the noise of the front door - not sure whose great idea it was to put a family room (206) directly above the main entrance and opposite the exit of the pub and the bed was rather hard - I compared it to the slab you would lay on for a Turkish massage but some might like that, I personally didn't.

Very comfortable room top marks for house keeping and value for money. Quiet night and lovely mattress. Very nice carvery which we enjoyed on the first evening. Unfortunately no welcome on arrival in fact left to wait at the reception/bar area for nearly 15 minutes whilst the staff served drinks and chatted about where the staff were. It's a shame as we really liked the place but for us customer service and first impressions are so so important. Saying that good value and a good night's sleep just speak to your paying guests.

The food, the staff, the room all excellent, couldn’t fault anything. So impressed I asked some members of staff for their names to mention to Marston’s about how good they were. Adam on the bar, Hannah on the bar and Charlotte in charge of the waiting staff.

Everything was top notch from the time we checked in till we checked out, spotless rooms, happy friendly staff, food in restaurant very good & breakfast superb service. Can’t fault it, would recommend any friends & family to stay here. 10/10 👍

The hotel is similar to a Travelodge or Premier Inn in comfort and style and is attached to a big old pub that acts as reception, the bar and the restaurant. The bar is well stocked and the restaurant food good quality and reasonably priced, but he staff always seem miserable and don't seem to care much about helping clients or going the extra inch let alone mile.

My son and i travel down to watch Wolves a few times a season and always wonder where to stay. Many options are past Wolverhampton and add another 30-40 mins onto the journey. We stayed at the Spread Eagle and it was great! Definitely our choice from now on. Assumed the rooms were above the pub initially, but this isn't the case, they are a brand new stand alone block just behind the pub itself. It is comfortable, is in a handy location just off the M6 and within very easy reach of Wolverhampton. Rooms are decent quality and have everything you need with good decor and quality beds. We ate at the pub as we arrived around 7:15 and it was nice food also. I had the carvery (large) which was well priced and tasty. My son had food off the childrens 'bigger appetites' menu and enjoyed it too. He has a milk allergy but the staff were brilliant in terms of checking the food for him. Drinks are relatively expensive i felt with a beer and a J20 coming to £9.05. All in all a very good stay and look forward to coming back. Hopefully Wolves will win next time too!!

We booked the Inn on the app the night before to break up a long car journey, travelling on the M6 from Cornwall to Scotland, when my other normal hotel choices were showing as fully booked. Although signs showing enterance was there, it was a bit tight in the dark and i missed the turning (onto dobbies next door) meaning i had to drive down a dual carriage way to double back. Upon arriving later in the evening we were unaware that the receiption was actually in the restraurant section. Once checked in we sat and had a lovely cavery meal. Our room was on first floor and our son had a separate bed already made up. After trying to work out the controls for the air conditioning, i went and asked the manager and he was happy enough to come over from the restaurant building and rectify buttons to press. Sleep was good in the beds. Only disappointment i found was the wash hand/shower dispensers didn't have any liquid. Breakfast meal was enjoyable of pancakes & omelette for our breakfast. Fruit juice was not watered down that we had previously in a premier Inn. I would recommend booking into this venue or another Marston's Inn in the future.

One-night stop on the journey from Portsmouth to Scotland. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The attached pub offered a great variety of food options and it was very welcome after a long bike ride. The car park is fairly shut off from outside viewing - so that made us feel more secure leaving the bikes there. It is not close to anywhere on foot. But we didn't need that. Would use it again for the same purpose.

Room was very basic but clean. Beds comfortable. No safe in room. Staff very friendly. Breakfast is nice but bread and pastries all left uncovered and flies everywhere. We mentioned this a couple of times but it fell on deaf ears. The hot drinks machine kept coming up with filter needs changing but was told to cancel the message. A busy place. Suited our needs at the time but would not stay again.

Great room (103), nice and clean with toiletries and nice clean towels. Cooked Breakfast was included in our booking and was really nice and could also choose from the continental options that was available as well. Although dinner wasn’t included we ate in the restaurant on the first night and although I was a little fussy with what I could eat the chef was very accommodating. Food was lovely.

The room was clean and comfortable. Chambermaids happy and cheerful. But the dar and restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, miserable staff, poor food quality, slow service. I recommend the rooms, but not the pub side.

An adequate hotel very well located near to the M6. Unfortunately, it was Father’s Day the morning we were leaving. They accepted more bookings for breakfast than they were sensibly capable of supporting. As a result, hotel guests had to wait nearly an hour for a breakfast that was not up to their usual standard. The message, do not go near the place if there is any sort of celebration likely to be happening - they lack the ability to adequately or realistically plan for such occasions.
