Almost everything about CitizenM is en pointe. The only thing I’d change is their "self-check-in" process. In the name of expediency, it’s actually quite the opposite. Instead of speeding things up, it leaves travelers—already worn out from airport lines and customs—in a lengthy staring contest with a screen. It’s not enough to keep me from coming back, but new travelers, caught off guard, often look like stranded passengers on a deserted island. They quickly grow frustrated, looking helplessly at the dedicated check-in “Jedi,” who stand by just watching the hilarity unfold. What’s supposed to save time just ends up making the check-in process feel like near torture. Yet, I’m a repeat offender at CitizenM because the overall experience is fantastic. The second-floor lounge feels like home with its cozy mid-century vibe, and the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired.

Staffs are very friendly. I would Iike to send my special appreciation to Amber. She gave me some advices on recommended place for 滷肉飯. Places she gave me the names are very delicious. Amberは日本語もとても上手なので、日本人には強い味方です！ I would recommend their bar as well. Cocktails are very good. They include specialties of Taiwan in the recipes. You should definitely try out! I will definitely stay again in my next trip!

This hotel is in a great location. Right next to Beimen and Taipei station it’s super convenient for arriving from the airport and going anywhere in Taiwan through the MRT or high speed rail. Also literally next to the old town gate which is cool, and not far from one of the larger night markets. This hotel has no laundry so you either have to give your clothes to a staff member and pay them to do it or go to a nearby laundromat which we did. There is also no gym, but the hotel is pretty close to the river which I ran along most days. The room itself was ok, very small and it’s one of those rooms where the bathroom is part of the main hotel room and not in its own room. If you’re staying by yourself it’s fine, but going to the bathroom your partner will be able to hear everything like you’re in a public washroom stall… Overall not bad but I would probably look for a bigger room next time.

The hotel is fine, including service desk. I found a hair that's not mine in the bed the first day. There is no hair conditioner. The complaint I have is with the cancellation/ change policy. I understand that when it past certain date, you're going to be charged for one night's stay for any changes. I originally booked four nights. However after the second night, it was all over the news that a typhoon is coming and would affect the whole island. The landing happened to be the day I planned to leave Considering the risk, later turned out to be realized, I had to leave immediately because the only flight available was on that day. Therefore, I checked out two nights earlier. After several rounds of conversation with the hotel, they refused to refund me, not even for one night. I'm very disappointed with this inflexible policy that doesn't take into consideration of customers safety under extreme weather conditions. They don't even follow their regular change policy in my case.

1. Should change the bedsheet & pillowcases daily instead of routine 3 days once; 2. Each room should provide electric kettle to boil drinkable water instead of going to level 2 to get hot/ cold water, it is quite inconvenient for guests to go up & down just to get hot water; 3. The toilet & showering flooring are quite slippery, both of us nearly fall when stepped on pool of water which cannot be drain off at the toilet bowl area; 4. There is a "utility box" on top of our bed, the edges of the fixtures are very dusty; 5. The aircon is rather dusty, both of us having sensitive nose and got sinus the 2nd night; 6. Should take alook at the blind ans curtain fixture as the alignment for the main big curtain is abit off, the ledt curtain drop fully well but the main curtain drop more than required with excess curtain dropped.

Ideal for solo travelers. The room was spotless and surprisingly quiet despite facing a main road. Thoughtful furniture layout made excellent use of the space. Conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the main subway station, airport express, and a bustling shopping district. I’d definitely stay here again.

The rooms are very very small. They do mention this online but for two people with big suitcases, the room is a squeeze. The location is nice, central to a lot of Taipei’s best walking areas, and the bed and shower were divine.

Great location just 1 block away from Beimen subway stop, and a 10 minute walk from the main train station. Also very close to Ximending and the famous rainbow crosswalk. Overall property was clean and nice. Rooms are small but just what I needed for a single traveler. Breakfast was nothing special but I appreciated it being available starting. Overall great choice for exploring the city.

Had a fantastic short trip. The hotel room was very clean with great room facility control via the iPad. Excellently located with walking distance to popular Dihua street, Ximen district etc. Convenient walking distance from Airport Express terminal (exit 6) which was a big bonus. The service was top notch. All the citizens employees spoke English very well. The room was clean with a nice view of the river. Ximending was a 5 min walk. MRT is a 3-4 minute walk either way. I found most of the meals better than the street food. Taipei City under ground Mall is about a 5 minute walk connected to the MRT main station. I found the food there better than the night market. Breakfast at Citizen M had a variety of western and Asian dishes. I highly recommend this hotel, but I do have some cons about it. If you stay in the higher floors, there’s some random noise that kinda sound like a dog barking every 15-20 mins and it sounds like a person placing a cup down on a counter. The elevator system are not sinked so everyone presses all of the button so when your on the elevator it stops frequently. Other than that it’s an awesome place to stay.

Room size is small even for king view room. Hardly any place to place a big suit case for 1 person. Service staff are courteous and friendly. Hotel and room are well maintained. Location is in between TPE station and XM ding. Food wise nothing to offer, breakfast is not worth mentioning.

Overall I liked my room and the hotel. The staff was great and very helpful. I shave two areas I was not very happy with. 1. There was no where to put my luggage. I ended putting it on the floor. 2. The hotel info on the iPad said that the canteen and bar was open 24/7. But after @9:30 the kitchen closed. That info needs to be updated.
