Clean, convenient and centrally located. There was nothing wrong with this place. We had a 1 bedroom for our family of 4 and it was perfect. Nothing missing. They have everything that a well equipped apartment would have. Best part for you coffee fans like me: plenty of coffee! There’s a push button machine in the reception lobby and an originaline nespresso machine in the room with endless pods. We are big coffee drinkers so it was great. Would stay here every time! Also close to excellent restaurants and shopping.

Great location! Very clean and large rooms to accommodate 3 adults. Sofa bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Free coffee 24/7. Parking was expensive but convenient, recommend booking in advance though because it is very limited. Breakfast was an extra charge so visited a nearby bakery which was very delicious.

The location is a great spot! It’s about a 15 minute walk from the church and rainbow road. There’s a variety of places to eat literally right next door or across the building with great variety. They offer parking in a garage which was what I chose instead of trying to find parking on the street. I was able to check in early as well. Very grateful for that because our flight landed very early and we were exhausted after our first tour. They have breakfast you can order brought right to the door which was fantastic after the first day since we felt a little lazy. Highly recommend. Very spacious, close to the city, parking available, and so on.

This stay was perfect. The apartment had every convenience, it was immaculately clean, and the location was perfect in the center of Reykjavik. They offered indoor parking. The staff was friendly and accommodating with 24 hour concierge services. I highly recommend this stay to anyone traveling to Iceland.

Great location and wonderful staff. Read the fine print for the washer / drier and parking. Not every room has the washer. You must reserve the parking in advance. If you want to be right in the middle of everything, this is the spot for you yet the units are nice and quiet.

Lovely place! Kitchen and washroom are perfect. Blackout curtains are great for the summer. Fantastic location close to everything. Although parking garage is advertised on the website, it may be full. Paid street parking is available all around.

This property absolutely exceeded every expectation. Our rooms were large, clean, and well appointed. The location would not possibly have been better, only a few blocks from major sites, restaurants and shops, but off the beaten trail enough to be quiet. There were many extra touches that we appreciated--a full kitchen (with the water for the coffee maker filled each morning), and a generosity of spirit from the staff that made this an exceptional stay.

We stayed one night and had a fantastic experience. Pros: - Location is quite convenient to the main tourist area while not being too noisy in the evening - Noise and light insulation quite good, windows open but also close easily, and the blackout curtains worked very well (quite necessary in late May!) - Apartment was sparkling clean, including all glasses and dishware (for once I didn't have to rewash anything) - Kitchen was fully stocked, including salt and pepper - Receptionist was extremely helpful, showing us to our apartment and introducing us to some basics, as well as providing some nearby restaurant recommendations (can recommend Fjallkonan; expensive but good) Cons: - My husband found it too hot to sleep comfortably at night (low 20s/70s); it was much cooler outside, but we wanted to keep the windows closed for the noise - The shower design does nothing to keep the whole bathroom from getting splashed and steamy

We spent a week here, weather was a bit rubbish but apartment was cosy, modern and spotless. Breakfast could be considered pretty steep but was amazing and so much food. Great location for exploring by foot and reception staff very helpful and friendly. Loads of nice places to eat and a big supermarket 10 min walk away as there is a small but fully fitted kitchen. Would definitely stay again.

Very modern! 10/10 for that, and awesome coffee (Jura Giga machine) in the lobby! The apartment smelled musty/dusty, and we had to open the patio doors to air it out. Allergies flared up, that wasn't great.

This is a fantastic location in downtown Reykjavík. our unit had a terrible smell in the bathroom (maybe a sewage valve) that didn’t get resolved while we were there. Our door handle was broken as well but would still lock. Other than these two issues, this a spacious and gorgeous unit. Perfect for a family.

I never did understand the lighting controls. The sink design is modern but not so practical, and the shower sprayed water over a good portion of the floor. However, the mattresses and seating were comfortable. Pillows were insubstantial, and we ended up putting pillowcases on the living room cushions. The blackout curtains in the bedroom left about 5 inches of bright light coming in where they didn't completely close to the wall. Small things, but at our age and for the price we'd have gladly done without these minor annoyances.

It's a nice one bedroom apartment in easy walking distance to all the major sites in Reykjavik. We ended up using the kitchen more than we expected and it was well stocked with needed equipment. The bed was a bit too firm, but overall we had a great 2 night stay.

In the center of town. The apartments have absolutely everything you need and are beautiful. The only problem is the pull out couch which is not comfortable to sleep on. Otherwise a beautiful property.

Great location. Easy walk to bus stop 4 and the harbour. Easy to get into and good size. We had a standard and asked them to make up the sofa bed. The apartment was cleaned every day and was warm. Tea and coffee provided. The only downside was how dark it was - we really struggled with the 150 light on/off buttons. The bedroom was also a bit noisy on the roadside.

The unit itself was very clean, and the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with dishes, cutlery, etc. However, the pull out couch was terribly uncomfortable to sit on for any extended period of time (e.g. to watch television in the evening), and the pillows were absolutely horribly soft - while we asked twice for additional pillows, they never materialized. We were advised it was due to a strike by their laundry service provider, but come on - for an entire week, we couldn’t get two extra towels?? Disappointing for what is considered a 4 star property.

The room itself was great. The service provided by one person at the front desk was below par. Not helpful and very poor communication about the possibility of an early check-in on the day we arrived. Had requested early check-in by email a week prior and requested again upon arriving early in the morning. Of course I understand if there is another guest staying that morning. That is not a problem. We were given no indication about timing of cleaning staff and were simply told it was anytime up to 3:00 pm. There was no service provided above and beyond in this regard, as there was no attempt to lift a finger to help us. I was very disappointed by this one person. Everyone else was great, and helped to preserve a 4 out of 5 rating for us.

Had requested early check-in by email a week prior and requested again upon arriving early in the morning. Of course I understand if there is another guest staying that morning. That is not a problem. We were given no indication about timing of cleaning staff and were simply told it was anytime up to 3:00 pm. There was no service provided above and beyond in this regard, as there was no attempt to lift a finger to help us. I was very disappointed by this one person. Everyone else was great, and helped to preserve a 4 out of 5 rating for us.

Everything about this property was perfect for our family of five. There is tons of space, a fully stocked kitchen with hotel amenities. Everything is clean and modern, and very high quality. The staff were all so helpful and respectful. We had garaged, off-street parking which we paid extra for, but it was worth it. The area is full of restaurants, shopping, and plenty to do. We will definitely stay here again when in Iceland. Highly recommended!

I definitely recommend Black Pearl if you are staying at downtown Reykjavik. It's walkable to food, shopping and Bus Stop #4 for tour pickups. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable1 All the staff people are awesome! It will be my place to stay whenever I come back to Iceland in the future !!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Black Pearl. We came in very early in the morning and reception staff escorted us immediately to our apartment, explaining its features clearly. It is quiet and extremely clean, and like all of Reykjavik, very safe for tourists. It is located a short walk from excellent restaurants, coffee shops, a great art museum, and the harbor front. I'd say it was about a 5-7 minute walk to the middle of downtown. It's also a quick walk to the pick up points for day tours as well (Bus Stop 4 and 15 are particularly close, but Bus Stop 5 is also close.) Kitchen is well-stocked with sharp knives, pans, and other stuff for cooking and serving meals, should you want a break from restaurant cuisine. Balcony does not overlook water but is a pleasant space for lingering over drinks. We'll book this again on our next trip to Iceland.

The whole experience was amazing. Beautiful apartments, wonderful indoor parking, friendly and helpful staff. We stayed part of our holiday here and part in the middle of city center in a well known high end hotel and would choose the Black Pearl again for the entire stay. Loved it!

Great location. Easy walk to bus stop 4 and the harbour. Easy to get into and good size. We had a standard and asked them to make up the sofa bed. The apartment was cleaned every day and was warm. Tea and coffee provided. The only downside was how dark it was - we really struggled with the 150 light on/off buttons. The bedroom was also a bit noisy on the roadside.

Clean, convenient and centrally located. There was nothing wrong with this place. We had a 1 bedroom for our family of 4 and it was perfect. Nothing missing. They have everything that a well equipped apartment would have. Best part for you coffee fans like me: plenty of coffee! There’s a push button machine in the reception lobby and an originaline nespresso machine in the room with endless pods. We are big coffee drinkers so it was great. Would stay here every time! Also close to excellent restaurants and shopping.

Wonderful! Perfect location walking distance to everything . Having a full kitchen was lovely to cook dinner and breakfast with a huge balcony to enjoy weather permitting. We went to the market and got groceries and saved a TON of money vs eating out for every meal.

When I was searching for lodging in Reykjavik, this hotel stood out as being unusually nice. As we arrived, the staff were very friendly, helpful and stored our luggage since we arrived in the morning. The units were spotless, spacious, very modern and included kitchen amenities that we loved. We were within quick walking distance to the picturesque harbor, museums and restaurants. We were also within easy walking distance of Harpa, Sun Voyager and the fun shopping and restaurants that everyone says you should see. When it was time for us to leave, the staff ordered taxis the day before to make sure we could easily get to the cruise port. This stay could not have better!

The apartment was spacious and perfectly maintained. The well-stocked kitchen made preparing and serving grocery-store purchased food easy. The fact that breakfast was available for purchase was a great convenience. The portions were generous and the food was well-prepared. The front desk was polite and accommodating. I appreciate that they loaned me a converter when I needed one. They always offered me coffee and answered any questions I had. I didn't love having to walk through the garage to get to the elevator to my apartment. That said, I am grateful that the area lit up when I entered it. The location is a great spot! It’s about a 15 minute walk from the church and rainbow road. There’s a variety of places to eat literally right next door or across the building with great variety. They offer parking in a garage which was what I chose instead of trying to find parking on the street. I was able to check in early as well. Very grateful for that because our flight landed very early and we were exhausted after our first tour. They have breakfast you can order brought right to the door which was fantastic after the first day since we felt a little lazy. Highly recommend. Very spacious, close to the city, parking available, and so on.

Fantastic stay in the middle of downtown. Very clean and the concierge was very nice and effective. The bus stop was a close walking distance. More importantly the apartment has a kitchen, so if you are on a food budget, having a kitchen is very essential considering restaurant prices can be expensive. Thank you for your hospitality!

Fantastic location near the harbour and lots of shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is in impeccable condition and having a full kitchen and dining area with groceries nearby was also very handy. Would definitely stay there again.

The location was perfect and we loved having a parking spot in the building even though it was extra. The rooms were very large and clean. Exceeded expectations! I was able to cook for myself my entire stay. I had groceries delivered! With dietary restrictions this was an important part of my travel, plus restaurants are very pricey in Reykjavik. The room was even bigger than I expected. Photos do not do the space justice!
