A great experience, pool is smaller than appears in pictures, was quieter than our experiences at hotels closer to city center and walking distance was manageable.

Great, friendly staff. Lovely rooftop bar. Room was good albeit very small. Fantastic location.

Overall the hotel is good. The spa/sauna was not open and I the roof top pool has a great view of the city, but also the hotel should consider make it a hot pool for the winter.

As usual a great stay at Axel Madrid. Just one remark : the gym equipment badly needs to be updated ( machines are noisy and about to fall apart)

The 2 gentlemen who were at the front desk during my visit were excellent! Love this location and hotel! Super close to Atocha train station, the Prado, and Centro Madrid. Not a touristy area, and lots of fabulous restaurants and cafes within a 10 minute walk. Rooftop bar and pool was fantastic!!

Super Location Schöne Dachterrasse Gute bequeme Betten Nähe zur Ubahnstation - Sehr laut (Lärm von der Terrasse und dem Club im Keller bis spät in der Nacht) Jeder zweite Tag private Veranstaltung auf dee Dachterrasse und man wurde vertrieben Pool nicht zum Schwimmen geeignet. Die meiste Zeit stehen Gäste mit Gläsern und Zigarette im Wasser und feiern. Im Zimmer Keine frischen Tassen oder Gläser ausgetauscht. Fenster zu einem überdachten Innenhof...daher nie Frischluft und dementsprechend schon ein schlechter Grundgeruch im Zimmer Waschbecken nicht im Badezimmer und auch nach Beschwerde nie mehr als maximal lauwarmes Wasser.

My partner and I loved our stay at Axel Madrid. We were in room 006, was so spacious and well designed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooftop was great and fun, with spectacular sunset views. Great location. Gym a little small. Friendly clientele, and welcoming safe space.

Leider war der Rooftop Pool während unseres Aufenthaltes wegen Bauarbeiten geschlossen. Ansonsten ein sehr gutes Hotel, aufmerksames Personal, gutes Frühstück und perfekte Lage!

Hôtel fidèle aux photos Malheureusement nous n’avons pas pu profiter du roof top car fermé. Nous avions choisi cet établissement pour celui-ci Pas de proposition commerciale pour nous dédommager Très bien situé pour visiter Madrid

Nous ne renouvellerons jamais l’expérience de séjourner dans cet hôtel! Le lit n’était pas confortable et il grinçait! Les têtes d’oreiller étaient minces comme des feuilles de papier! Le café dans la chambre était seulement du décaféiné, même à la quatrième journée! La piscine sur le toit n’est pas chauffée! L’eau de la piscine était très froide. Le service du bar sur le toit était pauvre et pas très accueillant!

The staff at Axel are wonderful and welcoming, they explain everything clearly and make sure you have everything you need for your trip. I went during a quiet period for the city so had no issues with any noise, and my room was peaceful, spacious, clean, and everything finished to a high standard. The decor is modern and chic, and all the amenties you need are provided. Would definitely stay here again!

Room cleaning was poor, day 1 found dirty towel, day 2 found 2 socks behind curtain. No privacy in room as full length window had no curtain, suggest frosted glass on window.

Bed sheets were stained and dirty, as well as the only chair in the room. The AC was not working properly and the room was hot and stuffy.

The staff were absolutely fantastic but the rooms were pretty disappointing - light bulbs not working and cleanliness definitely not up to scratch

Very nice hotel, but very small room. But also very quiet. There was a bad smell in the lobby. Reception was very kind. Rooftop bar not so smiling.

The staff at Axel Madrid are all wonderful. The hotel is very well located. The rooms are clean but the decor feels a bit 90’s Las Vegas Club. Beds are hard for my taste although my husband liked them. Interior courtyard rooms are very load but we were moved to a back of hotel room which was very quiet.

The hotel had a nice rooftop bar and while I only went during the day, it seemed like a welcoming place to socialize. The room was very large and had a fun style. Unfortunately, it felt very cold and wasn’t well lit, some of the lights also flickered. The area was great, a quick walk to everything and breakfast was also really good, although the seating area for breakfast felt a bit small

Let me start by saying that the staff were wonderful and that the company does read the reviews which I applaud. The problem, for me anyway, was the hotel design itself. The corridors were very dark, gloomy and bare. This gloomy atmosphere continues with the room. The room is effectively a bathroom with a bed in it. The shower, sink and toilet are all in from of the bed. I don’t mind seeing / hearing my significant other shower or wash their hands but seeing, hearing and smelling someone use the bathroom is not something I like. The rooftop has a bar and quite a large pool along with a rooftop view. Many restaurants and bars in the area. Once again the staff and management were great.

This was a very delightful hotel. Exceptionally friendly staff who all spoke English. I got a room facing the inner courtyard and it was super quiet. My friends got a room facing the street and they said they got some street noise each night that woke them up, which I would have been bummed about if I had been in their room. The breakfast buffet was super delicious and of great quality and variety. I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed my stay at Axel Hotel Madrid. The room was spacious with great decor. Close to restaurants, shopping and everything Madrid has to offer.

Hôtel vieillissant. Les chambres supérieures qui se trouvent côté rue sont très mal insonorisées et donc bruyantes, y compris la nuit. Heureusement le personnel est agréable et a sû me trouver une chambre calme côté cours arrière. Dans l'ensemble, cet hôtel n'est pas un bon rapport qualité-prix.

Had to change room as ours was a dark closet facing a light well ’. The second bedroom was slightly lighter but low ceiling under the eaves, very small, and the door didn’t close properly. Nothing like the pictures on the website. Quite disappointing for the price.

Alternative hotel welcoming LGBTQ+ guests and as they also state in signage, heterofriendly. Rooms just a bit dark, at least mine. Perhaps the rooms facing outward can be brighter but on the inner open courtyard ring the light was minimal even on a very sunny day. But aside from that, great room, great shower, good amenities like bar and room service. No water in the room except mini-bar - I think every hotel should provide this as a standard. Or do that thing where you can fill your own glass jug in the lobby and bring to the room. Anyway, the bar was great fun with good banter albeit not large space. Would stay here again.

Fantastisk frukost och och mycket god service och bemötande från personalen. Mycket bra läge i centrala delen. Rummen är lite slitna och sängarna väl hårda.

The entire staff from General Manager, Frint desk staff and servers were very professional, personable, and polite. Great room and great vibes on teh rooftop. Would definitely stay there again!

This is my 3rd or 4th stay at Axel Madrid over the last two or three years. However this stay was a great disappointment and the hotel has shown a steady degradation in maintenance and staff friendliness. On our second night we were about to head out for my partner’s birthday dinner celebration when water started gushing out of the light fixtures in the (separate) shower and toilet. We went to reception who informed us this was “normal” and they would get someone to fix it. I said I had no intention of staying in the room and asked to be moved. I was told that all rooms were full. I said the speak with the manager on duty to get this to happen. I was told he was not available. I repeated my request to move and it was again refused. I then said I would be contacting hotels.com to resolve the issue and that I would move to another hotel and get my prepaid amount refunded. Only then (miraculously) did the receptionist find the manager available and, another miracle, to find an empty room for us. It so happened it was the very room next door. No apology, no assistance with moving our items, no offer of a complimentary drink at the bar or anything like that. Just the bare minimum after I had to escalate and push for a resolution. Additionally, the bar staff at the rooftop bar are simply not customer focused. They spent most of their time chatting with one another and smoking at the side of the pool while a long line gathered for drinks. I will Kit be back

Superfint hotell, väldigt inkluderande på alla sätt. Vi blev incheckade av en helt underbar receptionist som bytte oss till ett större rum när vår AC hade lite problem. Väldigt spännande show i källaren! Det ligger verkligen mitt i smeten, otroligt centralt!

Overall stay was great. Everything—the room size, design, cleanliness, amenities, as well as general front desk personnel service—was perfect. Absolutely no complaints. Extremely conveniently located with Metro Antón Martín station a block away. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in the perfect location. Every destination we wanted to visit was within a lovely 15 minute walk. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was kind and helpful. We will certainly stay here again if ever back in Madrid.

The room was comfy and clean, well-appointed and centrally located so that it seemed just about everything was a 6-10 minute walk. The staff was friendly and easily conversed with me in English. Even if I slept til noon and didn't leave my room until 14:00, it was cleaned on my return each day, and none of my things went missing. Highly recommended!

Hotel incrível, localização perfeita, tudo ao redor pra ser feito a pé. No auge do calor a piscina era imprescindível, muito refrescante, drinks ótimos. O café da manhã é surpreendente, todos dias tinha algo diferente, atendimento nota mil. Parabéns a todos

The breakfast was extremely enjoyable, along with the service from its staff. Laundry service was quick and easy. The food catering/room service was also delicious with plenty of options. The location of the hotel is ideal for tourist attractions. Unfortunately, I couldn’t mirror my iPhone apps like YouTube, to the Samsung format. Otherwise, great place to stay while in Madrid.

Really enjoyed the hotel. Upscale without being over the top. Well priced. Friendly, helpful staff. Had one of the beat breakfasts of my Spanish stay there. Massage by David was top notch. Room is nice and comfortable but its a bit dark. Rooftop and pool we re terrific. Apparentky the hetero set has definitely gotten the memo, but hope it doesnt dominate the vibe. Regardless, i recommend.
