Tracy and the team are always very hospitable and will go above and beyond to make your stay a great one. Always a nice atmosphere in the pub and restaurant, and they have a lovely big wood burner to warm yourself up if it’s cold outside. Food is excellent, with a great selection for both dinner and breakfast. Drinks choice is great too with lots of products from local producers such as Thatchers Cider or Butcombe Ales.

Friendly staff. We stayed on a Monday evening, it was good to see the pub was busy. Good breakfast. Slow EV charger, but Ok as we were staying the night.

Comfortable and roomy king sized bed (very rare in the UK), spacious room, good shower. Having all rooms on the first floor and no one above us was very welcome. It's annoying when you hear footsteps and noise of other guests above you. Also appreciated being able to have dinner downstairs in the dining room, and that a generous cooked breakfast was included in the price. We would be happy to recommend this well-run hotel.

Great village inn. Very friendly staff and locals. We had a beautiful, well decorated, large twin room with a view of the village. The ensuite shower room was spacious and warm. Spotless bedding and towels. Usual tea/ coffee etc. The Woodborough has a large car park with several electric car charging spaces. There is a quirky 9 pin bowling alley, a nice dining area and comfortable bar/ lounge. The dining area and bar lounge all have disabled access, but the bedrooms are accessed via a flight of quite wide stairs.Dogs are welcome down stairs. There is also some outdoor seating. Both lunch and evening meals are available, I advise pre booking as it is a busy pub attracting visitors and locals . The bar is well stocked and generally there are 3 trad ales on offer along with ciders, soft and hard liquors. It would make a great base for touring the local area. We intend to return in the near future.

Exactly as advertised. Big room with a comfortable bed and good shower. Just be aware that you need to carry your bags up a couple of flights of stairs to access the accommodation. Dining is easy with the pub’s restaurant downstairs. There were also other dining options (take away) within short walking distance.

I don’t normally review but felt that this place definitely deserved it. Welcoming, friendly, amazing food, very clean, family friendly and comfy beds. Great location near Cheddar Gorge. Overall great value. Thanks for the great stay 😊

We rarely stay in pubs (particularly not on a Saturday night). This venue was exceptional, had clearly been refurbished recently (smell of fresh paint). Good to see locals in the bar, who welcomed us ahead of hotel staff. Room was clean and well appointed. We ate in restaurant in evening - food and service were both excellent (although portion size was HUGE !!!). Breakfast good in morning.

The room I stayed in was clean. The decor was great! Enjoyed my visit, although it was only night. One minor thing. When I sat at a table reserved for me, there was no menu on table, so I borrowed one from a nearby table. This does not take the excellent service provided at the Woodborough Inn.

Family suite room was very nice, plenty of space for a young family of four, liked the separate single bed room. Large bathroom with bath and shower. Service from all staff was truly excellent. Easy check in, had dinner downstairs with massive plates of good food. Inclusive breakfast (full English) was great, very accommodating to provide for young children. Would strongly recommend.

We were very comfortable in a nicely decorated room that looked like it had been done recently. All staff were friendly and helpful. We had a tasty dinner and a good breakfast as well. The location is central so don't expect any views but it was quiet and we were not disturbed by noise despite it being quite a busy pub with a large outside seating area. I would say that it was quite expensive compared to other more 'countrified' or 'quaint' pubs but it served our needs. One point was a drippy tap in the bathroom sink that is hard to tune out when you trying to sleep...... a very small point though

We arrived later than had planned but a friendly staff member warmly welcomed us. No forms to fill or passports to show; no vehicle details required, just had to confirm our payment and were shown quickly to our room. What a lovely room it was, furnished well and pleasant view over the village. Bed was huge and very comfortable and bathroom had great hot shower. We booked in for dinner, a good menu to choose from and served with lots of smiles and speedily too. Breakfast (included in the price) with choice of cereals and cooked to order full English or other was outstanding. Great experience indeed and will certainly book the Woodborough again when next staying in North Somerset. Thanks to all the staff.

Staff were warm and friendly. We weren't able to have breakfast in the morning as we were catching an early flight, so they made us bacon sarnies for our trip in the morning! Made my son very happy waking up!

We stayed on a Friday night and the pub side was busy with locals, always a good sign! Clean friendly pub with great rooms and a wonderful restaurant but also in the village there are plenty of other food options and typical village shops and pharmacy. Great place to stay or live 👍

Very welcoming on arrival.All staff very pleasant . Great location for visiting family in Winscombe. Very well appointed room clean airy- comfortable beds a great nights sleep ! Would thoroughly recommend. Superb breakfast -we’ll be back ! Thank you !

Overnights stay after visiting Cheddar Gorge. Drive from Cheddar was approximately 20 mins. Great pub with rooms. Food is amazing and great value. The team are very welcoming and attentive. If you’re not in a rush the next day use the hotel brochure for the local walking routes.

Great village inn. Very friendly staff and locals. We had a beautiful, well decorated, large twin room with a view of the village. The ensuite shower room was spacious and warm. Spotless bedding and towels. Usual tea/ coffee etc. The Woodborough has a large car park with several electric car charging spaces. There is a quirky 9 pin bowling alley, a nice dining area and comfortable bar/ lounge. The dining area and bar lounge all have disabled access, but the bedrooms are accessed via a flight of quite wide stairs.Dogs are welcome down stairs. There is also some outdoor seating. Both lunch and evening meals are available, I advise pre booking as it is a busy pub attracting visitors and locals . The bar is well stocked and generally there are 3 trad ales on offer along with ciders, soft and hard liquors. It would make a great base for touring the local area. We intend to return in the near future.

We were very comfortable in a nicely decorated room that looked like it had been done recently. All staff were friendly and helpful. We had a tasty dinner and a good breakfast as well. The location is central so don't expect any views but it was quiet and we were not disturbed by noise despite it being quite a busy pub with a large outside seating area. I would say that it was quite expensive compared to other more 'countrified' or 'quaint' pubs but it served our needs. One point was a drippy tap in the bathroom sink that is hard to tune out when you trying to sleep...... a very small point though

Exactly as advertised. Big room with a comfortable bed and good shower. Just be aware that you need to carry your bags up a couple of flights of stairs to access the accommodation. Dining is easy with the pub’s restaurant downstairs. There were also other dining options (take away) within short walking distance.

Family suite room was very nice, plenty of space for a young family of four, liked the separate single bed room. Large bathroom with bath and shower. Service from all staff was truly excellent. Easy check in, had dinner downstairs with massive plates of good food. Inclusive breakfast (full English) was great, very accommodating to provide for young children. Would strongly recommend.

The hotel and pub below were lovely and the welcome very warm. I booked the superior double room with breakfast at just £79 which was an absolute bargain. The decor was very fresh and contemporary. The bed super comfortable and the walk-in shower in the en-suite bathroom, absolutely lovely with a sunflower head and handheld shower. The room was fantastic and very clean and extremely good value for money. My colleague and I both dined downstairs within the Inn, and again I have to highly recommend the quality of the food as well as the service. I would also say it was good value for money with a great choice but not too many. I opted for the Gourmet Burger, which was home made and had a delicious bacon jam topping the meaty burger inside, this was a taste sensation for me! It also came with Sauté potatoes and salad and I felt completely satisfied. I think I gave the manager a monetary scare though, when as is the norm he asked if I required anything else and to his shock I asked for ketchup, to which he replied "NO, we make our own and it's already been included in the burger!" to his relief I required it only to dip my delicious sauté potatoes into and all was well in the end. To conclude: A the Woodborough Inn is a great place to stay and to dine, great quality for food and accommodation and the service provided by the staff was top notch, coupled with a very competitive price for everything. I will definitely stay again, thank you!

Tracy and the team are always very hospitable and will go above and beyond to make your stay a great one. Always a nice atmosphere in the pub and restaurant, and they have a lovely big wood burner to warm yourself up if it’s cold outside. Food is excellent, with a great selection for both dinner and breakfast. Drinks choice is great too with lots of products from local producers such as Thatchers Cider or Butcombe Ales.

We rarely stay in pubs (particularly not on a Saturday night). This venue was exceptional, had clearly been refurbished recently (smell of fresh paint). Good to see locals in the bar, who welcomed us ahead of hotel staff. Room was clean and well appointed. We ate in restaurant in evening - food and service were both excellent (although portion size was HUGE !!!). Breakfast good in morning.

This Inn is easily the best place I've stayed and I am saying that after having travelled to several countries within Europe, central and South America and the Caribbean. It is a very friendly atmosphere. The staff makes you feel like you are at home and welcomed with open arms. I have no criticism towards the Woodborough. Only too much praise.
