Great location for shopping in the outlet Banbridge. Beautiful old style house with beautiful gardens. Gorgeous rambling house with the host John making us feel so welcome. Beautiful bedroom.

The host is hard working and very friendly, a lovely man. He works hard to ensure a good stay. I would have liked a tv and kettle in the room but he thoughtfully brought me a kettle, cup etc…even 2 little cakes !

The lovely house would be suitable to older persons very old fashioned. John seemed to do everything himself missing some detail like shower soap, tea or coffee in the room would have been nice.He was very attendif.

The house and property is gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. The only negative was the shower was not working and we were not made aware of that at check-in and they were already aware of the issue.

A soon as I arrived John offered me a cup of tea and went out of his way to remember my name. I’ve never been offered a drink on arrival before.I don’t drink tea so he made me a coffee instead. There were no coffee making facilities in the room, but I was offered a kettle and supplies if I wanted them, or I could use the kitchen facilities downstairs. I was told I could have my breakfast anytime I wanted and it was served on time every morning. John is a very hospitable host and nothing is too much trouble. He went out of his way to be a good host and I loved the stories he shared and the humorous way he shared them. The kitchen and dining facilities were in the same room and it was like a family environment. The bed was comfortable, room spacious and bathroom was large with both bath and separate shower and WC. I have never written such a long review before, and I would definitely stay at Banoge House if in the area in the future.

John was a wonderful host and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. If you like Downton Abbey you'll love it here. Lovely grounds around the property. Will return when I'm in the area again.

No water for washing, shower or toilet for most of stay.

The grounds are breathtaking. John and David make a yummy breakfast. Other guests were wonderful. You get a genuine feel of the area.

John our host was lovely and cooked us delicious breakfasts. Also lovely surrounds with a donkey across the road who loved a pat, and some cats on the property who loved a cuddle. Highly recommend.

We ended up leaving. The bed had no sheet on top of the bed sheet. The pillows had not pillow cases. The comforter had white stains on it. The floor had stains on it. The owner disappeared after we checked in and we could not get ahold of him to resolve the issues. We did not feel comfortable sleeping in those beds. The house was dusty and dirty.

I really wanted to like this place, we were very excited to stay here but as soon as we got to the Banoge house we could smell that the manager smokes in this building. We arrived very late that evening and left in the morning again because we couldn’t stay the second night we initially booked. We had our 9mo baby with us and I’m pregnant and didn’t want us to be exposed to the smell and smoke. This place was advertised as a non-smoking facility, so be aware of it! The manager did not want to refund us the second night which is very unfortunate. My husband even saw the manager with a lit cigarette walking to his office in the back. I normally don’t write negative reviews but I want other young families to be aware of the smoking inside, the dirt and the whole situation. I wish I could attach photos we took of the place, the dirty baby cot, the very messy kitchen we got served breakfast in, the carpet in our room which hasn’t seen a vacuum cleaner in a while, the very sticky breakfast table and more.. It seems like the manager who lives there and I assume he runs all of it might need some help with cleaning the house and maintaining things.. Hope it’ll get better in the future!

There's a lot to like about Banoge House - it's a lovely old place with spacious rooms and a friendly host. You may have a good experience but we had too many negatives to recommend it. Some issues were minor (for us) - poor wifi, only 1x bath and 1x hand towel for 2x people, no shampoo, a bathroom door that didn't close properly, what looked like cigarette burns on the bed covering. There was no TV in the room - although we didn't mind that. More significant were a very tired and soft double mattress that I couldn't sleep well in and the lack of a proper shower (only a freestanding bath with a shower attachment and no curtain or cabinet). Most alarming were the cat faeces in a corridor and the diary left unattended in a guest-accessible area with guests' full card details clearly visible.

The property was nice, rooms clean. Plus the care taker was friendly.

The guy who runs/ owns the place is really nice and cant do enough for you, but thats the only good bit i would say, the room is very dated, the bathroom door disnt close even with 2 of us pushing on it and no actual shower

John was an absolute gent, the property was beautiful and he even offered to take us to the local wine flair and shop to grab some essentials - only complaint was the bed was springy and creaky but apart from that we had a great time, thank you John 👍👍👍

We really enjoyed our stay at the Banoge House. We were coming in late and the host, John, stayed up to greet us and show us around when we came in. He is friendly, welcoming, and cooks a delicious Irish breakfast. We were in a room for four people, a large bed for my husband and I and two single beds for our children. It's lovely having that combination. We enjoyed the Victorian decor and the massive bath. It felt like living in a cross between a museum and a home. Thank you for your hospitality!

We were bowled over by this place. Four poster bed and a giant bath. Manager really friendly. A quick overnight stop off on our road trip. Just wished we had stayed longer.

John made all the difference in the world on this stay. Every other stay will be disappointing without him. Good North Ireland hospitality

A lot of charm, set in beautiful grounds, away from the hustle of the city and am easy drive to Belfast. Our host, John, was really great and is a wealth of knowledge with ideas and tips on the best things to see and do in Northern Ireland.

If you want to experience what it is really like to live in the Irish Countryside, this is the perfect place. John, the owner was very friendly and accomodating, and gave us great information about the local area, and things to do. He made us a perfect Irish breakfast and excellent coffee!

Beautiful old manor house filled with antiques. The gardens are lovely for an evening stroll. John was a friendly, helpful, and entertaining host. Banoge House was an ideal home base while visiting family nearby.

The host, John is very congenial and helpful. He cooks up a 5 star breakfast and makes everyone feel very at home. The house itself is magnificent. You'll never get this type of hospitality in a hotel. I can't recommend this place enough.

Wonderful old property that is well maintained with the most gracious host. The room was elegant and comfortable. The breakfast was first rate. A wonderful stay.

Visiting people locally and needed a place to stay. This is my second visit to Banoge House and it is worth every Penny. Food is good as well and John is most welcoming of hosts.
