This was our third time staying at Mackworth House Farm and, as ever, Peter was the perfect host. The room was clean, tidy and spacious with a beautiful view of the garden. Check-in process was quick, and Peter was on hand to answer any questions we had. The breakfast options were plentiful, and there was a lovely pub a short distance away for evening meals/drinks. Can highly recommend for those wanting to stay in and around the Peak District.

We stayed at the farmhouse because we were attending a wedding at the hotel 2mins away- on arrival we were greeted by Peter, friendly and welcoming, a working dairy farm so fresh milk in the room, a good selection of teas and complimentary biscuits. Mini fridge in the room with complimentary water. Continual breakfast offered or a 5min walk hotel if you want a hot breakfast

I don't mind admitting that when I saw the reviews of this property, I didn't really think they could all be true. But it makes such a difference having such a welcoming host. Our host was fantastic. Such a difference from a lockbox and a code. He met us at the car, helped us unload, took our suitcase upstairs and there was nothing that was too much trouble for him. The property is very clean, the bed is very comfortable and the supplies of tea and coffee are ample, also a supply of green tea and peppermint tea and biscuits. You don't often get that with most hotels or b&bs. I would have liked to have stayed for breakfast and commented on the breakfast but unfortunately we had other plans for breakfast. I'm sure it would have been lovely though. The property itself is a farmhouse and is really characteristic especially being located on a farm or next to. Just a 10 to 15 minute uber drive into Derby city centre. We will definitely be back.
