Det er vanskelig å finne hotellet fordi inngangen er bak store gitterdører og inne i en bakgård. Det er ingen ordentlig resepsjon, men en skrivepult i en oppgang med en treg heis. Ingen var der da vi kom, men heldigvis var venner på plass i hotellet før oss. Etter dette var alt bare positivt. Rommet var stort og flott. Frokosten ble levert i en kurv på døra. Overraskende, men greit fordi vi hadde kjøkkenkrok med spiseplass (lave barstoler og høyt bord var litt morsomt ...). God seng og effektiv aircondition. Sentral beliggenhet. Ikke bråk fra trafikk på vårt rom. Utsikt mot en flott synagoge. Trivelig betjening.

We are 2 couples in their 70th year and our English isn’t good. We arrived with 2 big luggage and a small one. We ordered 2 rooms. When we arrived, the lift didn't work, the reception said to use stairs (>40) and no one would help to take baggage to the room. Only after our son called and spoke English, they agreed to use another lift that cannot be used on a regular base. Finally, we received good rooms, but in 1 of the rooms, we found the water in the bath and sink is not going down. The next day morning we asked to fix it and were promised it will be done. In the evening we found that the problem is still in place. We asked for a room change and were told, we will receive a new room the next day, meantime we got the mop and rag to clean the bathroom (not the hotel staff, but ourselves). The next day we were told that no available room till our stay ends. After a few discussions, the hotel suggested transferring us to another hotel, but w/o our friends. Only after our son called, asked for a partial refund, and opened a case with Hotels.com, they accepted to move us to another room the next day (there was no available room a few hours before). We were told that the new room will be available at 10 o'clock, but it was ready only at 13:00 In general: 1. It was the worst experience with hotels. 2. The lift worked only for 1 day and then was broken again. 3. The breakfast is poor and there is no restaurant to join the breakfast, they bring some food to the door to eat

Could have been difficult to find though they had sent a good description. My taxi driver knew it so I had no problem. As its name suggests the hotel is a conversion from residences/apartments. That means no bar or restaurant and a very limited reception space. More than made up for by a most helpful, delightful lady receptionist. Your breakfast is delivered to your door in a basket. Loved the high ceilings and superbly designed staircase indicating the property must once have belonged to a wealthy family. Room and bathroom completely modernised in simple attractive Hungarian style. Excellent tv, easy to operate. Comfortable bed warm bedding, very good shower with hot water. Kitchen area well stocked for those wishing to economise by self catering. Was unable to operate coffee machine, not sure if it was working. Plenty of other drinks available. On returning to Budapest Karoly Residences would be my first choice.

We ordered a room with a hot-tub and separated rooms for our baby to sleep in. We got a different room than what we expected - but at least they gave us the right room the following day. But we have a baby and because there were no hot water we couldn’t bathe our baby other than boiling water separately in the pots which took forever. And what is the use of having a hot-tub when we have to boil 10 pots of water on an old stove that took 10 minutes per pot. Last but not least - we have a baby, and therefor a baby stroller, which we had to carry up 6 flights of stairs with the baby in it every time. We complained every day but no action was taken, except for some very shallow apologies. The hotel told us to take it up with hotels.com - so we did and they were for some reason to ask for permission from the hotel for a partial refund - and they just said “there’s no way we can make a refund” even when I called them personally to complain. They even lied to hotels.com telling them that we were offered a separate elevator, but no such thing were informed to us. Horrible customer management and we paid full price for a stay that didn’t live up to the promised facilities. On a side note - the breakfast was very poor. The one upside was that the receptionist on the first night was very nice.

Our apartment was very modern and very well maintained. Excellent location for walking to major attractions or transportation. We were lost for a few minutes upon arriving as there is no outside signage and the hotel entrance is behind a large gate. The area behind the main gate (prior to the hotel entrance) needs sprucing up as it is dark and not very attractive. Five stars to Virag who checked us in and tended to our special requests with grace and professionalism.

Not the easiest place to find. Being told that entrance was via a gate with an intercom would have been helpful. We had room 7 with a spectacular view from the balcony. The room was huge and kitchen well equipped. Continental breakfast delivered daily in a basket, with a couple of yoghurts, small pot of muesli, bread buns, croissants and jam. Only two English speaking channels on the TV. Excellent location for sightseeing and loads of bars and restaurants in the area. Great place to stay!

The property was very nice. When you first pull up to the hotel it does not look bad the same due to the rudder engaged that it is behind it. But once you cross through the gates it is a very good surprise. The staff was very helpful. The location is excellent close enough to the downtown area to walk. Many restaurants around. Can walk to the Buda side. And to the great market.

The staff was AMAZING, Flora (I hope I spelled there name correctly, if not my apologies) and Chubby are great, friendly and helpful. The room was great with a patio. But the room was not that clean and the rug in the bedroom needed to be cleaned or replaced. But overall I still would recomand this place. Hopefully the building will see this review.

This was a large well equipped room in a great location. The staff were good and helpful but the room servicing was very limited (towels changed on request, no bed making or room cleaning). The only complaint would be that the carpet was very dirty and needed replacing. Would stay again though.

We stayed in the Grand Suite #10. The staff are kind. The room is spacious and has 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has glass doors so no privacy. We liked the large space and cute breakfast basket. Breakfast is simple but enough to get you started for the day. The carpets are very dirty and stained. There was a piece of chocolate stuck to one spot when we got there. The room needs a thorough cleaning. The drain in one bathroom shower didn’t work well. The water took almost 5 minutes to warm up for a shower. We asked for a fan right after our first night because the AC wasn’t strong enough for the bedroom with huge windows. The fan was covered in dust. Since this room has floor to ceiling windows, it is loud from traffic noise and sirens. We used earplugs to block it.

The property is located in a very central location. The staff are Friendly. Access on checkin can be a challenge since you need to enter a locked gate, make sure and coordinate this in advance. The worst part was the condution of the room. We were met with a strong stench of sewer. We got in late and thought it would go away, however we woke up the nexr day and it was still there. I notified the front desk and he said he would fix it. We talked to the front desk manager after our day of sight seeing and he said it was fixed. Unfortunately it persisted. I again talked to the front desk and brought them to the room to tell them they needed a maintenance person to look into it. Later that day we returned and the smell was fixed. It took 2 of our 3 night stays before the strong sewer stench was resolved. In addition the ceiling is severely stained from water intrusion. We stayed in room 9, i dont think the others had the issue we encountered. Ultimately it would have been nie to have had the managment offer us some sort of refund for the terrible smell.

We stayed in room #1. The tram runs right below the window and is very noisy. The room was very warm, the air conditioning was turned of for the season and the street noise made it impossible to open windows. The room space was nice, the shower had a bad smell, the breakfast was ok. Besides the street noise the location was very good.

I cannot speak more highly of this place. An outstanding property in a really convenient location. Close to everything you would need or want to see. Two balconies, fab breakfast delivered to your room and a cheeky bottle of wine too. Perfect for transport links to the airport. If I had one gripe, it would be that the cups in the kitchen had evidently not been checked by the cleaning staff as they had been put away dirty. I think this was an oversight in an otherwise pefect stay.

Karoly Córner provided a super spacious light-filled suite with a huge bathroom and separate water-closet. The large size of the space surprised us and the breakfast delivered to the room was very good. We would definitely stay here again. The unit’s kitchen would be excellent for an extended stay, having a small fridge, microwave and a double burner stove. The hot water was a bit tepid and we hope they can make it a bit warmer for future guest. Overall, a great experience.

The rooms & hotel are very modern and are well equipped. We had a deluxe king room which was very spacious, the beds were comfortable and it was very clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is very quiet within the facility and between rooms but the residence is located on a very busy street with the tram running directly in front of the hotel. The Metro and tram are very close for transportation but the between tram route and the emergency sirens the street noise can be quite loud especially on the weekends and until 10:30pm when the trams stop. The hotel has done everything within it’s control to reduce noise with sound proofing & thick windows but you might consider bringing ear plugs or a sound machine to minimize night noise. It had great balcony but it was wasted for us due to the street traffic & noise. For US travelers, be sure to pack plug adapters as all of the outlets are for European outlets. The kitchenette is fully equipped and they supply hair dryer but pack shampoo & conditioner as that is not provided. Overall, it is a nice place to stay and I felt safe walking around the area. I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn’t been for the street noise.

The room was perfect. A minus was a bathroom which has low water flow and the water was coming out of doors,making a floor wet. The breakfast is a nice concept. Very clean hotel. Area is perfect!!!

Not the easiest place to find. Being told that entrance was via a gate with an intercom would have been helpful. We had room 7 with a spectacular view from the balcony. The room was huge and kitchen well equipped. Continental breakfast delivered daily in a basket, with a couple of yoghurts, small pot of muesli, bread buns, croissants and jam. Only two English speaking channels on the TV. Excellent location for sightseeing and loads of bars and restaurants in the area. Great place to stay!

We are 2 couples in their 70th year and our English isn’t good. We arrived with 2 big luggage and a small one. We ordered 2 rooms. When we arrived, the lift didn't work, the reception said to use stairs (>40) and no one would help to take baggage to the room. Only after our son called and spoke English, they agreed to use another lift that cannot be used on a regular base. Finally, we received good rooms, but in 1 of the rooms, we found the water in the bath and sink is not going down. The next day morning we asked to fix it and were promised it will be done. In the evening we found that the problem is still in place. We asked for a room change and were told, we will receive a new room the next day, meantime we got the mop and rag to clean the bathroom (not the hotel staff, but ourselves). The next day we were told that no available room till our stay ends. After a few discussions, the hotel suggested transferring us to another hotel, but w/o our friends. Only after our son called, asked for a partial refund, and opened a case with Hotels.com, they accepted to move us to another room the next day (there was no available room a few hours before). We were told that the new room will be available at 10 o'clock, but it was ready only at 13:00 In general: 1. It was the worst experience with hotels. 2. The lift worked only for 1 day and then was broken again. 3. The breakfast is poor and there is no restaurant to join the breakfast, they bring some food to the door to eat

We ordered a room with a hot-tub and separated rooms for our baby to sleep in. We got a different room than what we expected - but at least they gave us the right room the following day. But we have a baby and because there were no hot water we couldn’t bathe our baby other than boiling water separately in the pots which took forever. And what is the use of having a hot-tub when we have to boil 10 pots of water on an old stove that took 10 minutes per pot. Last but not least - we have a baby, and therefor a baby stroller, which we had to carry up 6 flights of stairs with the baby in it every time. We complained every day but no action was taken, except for some very shallow apologies. The hotel told us to take it up with hotels.com - so we did and they were for some reason to ask for permission from the hotel for a partial refund - and they just said “there’s no way we can make a refund” even when I called them personally to complain. They even lied to hotels.com telling them that we were offered a separate elevator, but no such thing were informed to us. Horrible customer management and we paid full price for a stay that didn’t live up to the promised facilities. On a side note - the breakfast was very poor. The one upside was that the receptionist on the first night was very nice.

I mean 10s across the board. It was a really great place. Great location in Budapest that was quiet enough but amongst the action too. Was very safe and the staff spoke great English and were very helpful. Would certainly stay again!

Exellent, very impressed. Extremely friendly staff: 1. Explained how to best go to different places, 2. I was talking to the staff and tipped and lost $20 bill, then the staff member found me and gave $20 i lost. $20 is not much anymore but the Principle is important. The location is excellent, no need to take trams or metro. The kitchen was very nice, the bathrooms were clean.

Very central location, all staff very pleasant, courteous and friendly. Arranged an airport transfer and driver was also superb and very helpful. Room was outstanding as well as the view. Very quiet and breakfast served in a basket outside your door was a beautiful touch. Would highly recommend this top class hotel with excellent staff throughout. Thanks for taking care of us!

This place was wonderful! Perfect location, spacious and modern. You would not know the building was 100 years old! Kitchen was perfect for making breakfast in the am. Comfy bed. Very clean. Had a minor issue with the shower drain, and it was fixed the same day while I was out. Only negative is that you can hear the traffic because it is between busy streets, but it did not keep me from sleeping, and the whole area is very busy (so it's probably the same everywhere).

Great location near a metro and hop on hop off bus stop. About 15 minutes walk to St Stephens Basilica. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, take out options and supermarkets in less than 5 minutes walk. Apartment was spacious , clean and excellent facilities. Reception and staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Brilliant apartment with everything we needed. The area itself was a short walk to the danube and also short walks to north lively areas for dining and bars. There were 2 ruin bars really close which were fantastic. Would visit Budapest again and definitely use these apartments. A big plus to save money was the airport bus is pretty much outside the apartment so saved up a taxi.

Sentral beliggenhet, nært metro, shopping og severdigheter. God service og hyggelig betjening. Frokosten ble levert på døren kl. 8 hver morgen, og den kunne nytes inne i leiligheten. Kommer gjerne tilbake, vi bodde midt i byen, men var samtidig skjermet fra masse folk hvis vi ønsket det.

Our stay was superb. Very friendly and helpful staff, already ready with tips and answering questions. Spacious and comfortable room, with a nice modern decor and all amenities to hand. I loved the apartment, it was very nice and I'd return again. It was spacious, clean, modern and had everything I needed. Things to improve: maybe just breakfast, I'd include higher quality yoghurt and juice or at least possibility to pay for higher quality breakfast.

Great value in a great location. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Felt very safe as well. Picnic breakfast basket was so cute and loved having a kitchenette. Rooms were comfortable — could use some minor maintenance on shades, furniture, etc. But if you want to explore Budapest and will only need your room was showering and sleeping, it was excellent!

Hard to figure out how to even get into the building as there was little instructions on that. Then we had to climb stairs, not mentioned. And the gate pass didn’t work. The AC was not great either. Toilet seat was broke.
