Stayed 3 nights

Had selected the free cancellation option. Once the date passed to be able to cancel an amount was charged to my credit card under a holding company. In arriving at the Cornubia to check in we were initially ignored, but once being dealt with were asked for payment. I explained that payment had been made but was told that it was a holding fee that would be refunded. The member of staff said it was ‘f***ing inconvenient’ and couldn’t say when the refund would be made. We were shown to room 4. Tired we can accept, but the room was filthy. The bed linen was clean, however the bedside tables and clock were dusty and sticky to touch. The sink and shower appeared clean, but the towel rail was thick with dust, the bin rusty and edges around windows and skirting boards very dirty. A dirty teaspoon sat in the tea tray. The towels were tiny and full of pulled threads. Music continued way into the small hours on Friday and Saturday night with people shouting, crying and vomiting outside. The room was not serviced at all during the 3 days we stayed. Can’t comment on breakfast as it wasn’t offered. Usually would have spoken to management to try to sort out the situation, but in all honesty, in view of the ‘welcome’ and other reviews on here, felt concerned as to how it would have been dealt with. Don’t stay here, find somewhere else!

Stayed 2 nights

The parking was at the back and easy to find, you just had to enter you’re reg number into a device in the pub each day if you’re stay. The staff were nowhere to be seen on arrival, after 5 minutes we were shown to our room by a young girl and a child. I was absolutely disgusted with the room, it wasn’t clean and it was very dated. The bathroom had hand prints on the wall above the toilet where men have rested when going to the loo, there were skid marks in the toilet. The furniture was thick with dust and chipped and marked and dirty marks all over the walls. The bed had been made with clean bedding however the pillowcases had no protectors on them, I didn’t dare look at the mattress. We looked online to see if there was availability to stay somewhere else, unfortunately there wasn’t. That evening there was an event happening in the bar which spilled onto the side street below our window and carried on throughout the night keeping us awake until at least 02.30 am We had travelled down to Cornwall to stay for 2 nights to attend a family celebration but had to leave after one awful night staying at the cornubia inn.

The hotel was great for a 1 night stay and reflects the price, the staff were friendly and service was great. A few things that could improve on but main things were fine, comfy bed, tea coffee etc.

Nice clean, quiet place to spend a weekend at. Close to the best beaches of Cornwall. I would definitely stay there again.
