rooms were clean and tidy, beds were comfy food was good and reasonable in price as was the drink. Large car park and only £2 a night. bit of a drawback if you have luggage and you are not too mobile as the lift doesn't stop on every floor and you have to climb a small set of stairs.

Odd location in a old office block. The lifts are especially bizarre, not stopping at your floor, but between it and the one below. So if you're on the 11th floor you take the lift to the 12th and go down a flight (or to the 10th and up a flight). This must impact wheelchair users and others with mobility challenges. But when you eventually get to the rooms they are clean, modern, and functional, if somewhat basic. And it's near the station to get into central Manchester (10mins on train) or even to walk to the huge choice of shopping/dining at the Trafford Centre (30 mins). It's not expensive and has an Aldi opposite plus a Job Centre in the same building! Overall, if you're on a budget, I'd recommend it.

The building is a mix of offices and hotel rooms. However it works really well. Rooms are large and comfortable with A/C. Breakfast is excellent. The bar/lounge area is spacious and does great food. Stayed here many times and would not consider anywhere else when in the area.

Absolutely great for the price we paid. Don’t be put off my the building, it is quite an old block, but it’s fine. The rooms were clean and comfy. Paid £2 at reception for overnight parking. Staff very welcoming & a bar with a pool table. Just a £10 taxi into the city.

Room is standard, clean and comfortable good for a stop off or quick trip! It's such a unique building, as horror fans having come down for a convention we appreciated the aesthetic.Staff were wonderful, very sweet, attentive and understanding. Bar staff were lovely and friendly- made our stay extra pleasant. The bar had lots of great deals so we had lots of fun with their cocktail tree and shot dealz! Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast, lots of good options and we enjoyed our cooked brekky! Overall a lovely fun stay- you make it your own so perfect for friends or business trips needing a clean standard stay!

Good service from friendly and professional staff. Convenient to several stops for both buses and trains. Dining and shopping nearby. On the negative side, the hotel is not easily accessible if you have any problems with stairs. The building is strangely configured with the elevators on one floor and the rooms are half a flight of stairs up or down from the elevator. Also no refrigerator or microwave except on the reception level. Other than that I had no problem with my stay.

Easy to find, plenty of parking, close to motorway on ram, is a one way system around the hotel. Is part of a business building, reception on 2nd floor with 9 steps down to check in. Restaurant is 9 steps up on this floor. Lifts only go to floors in between so there are 9 steps either up or down to get to rooms. Managed fine with luggage. There is some redevelopment happening but only a little noise. Tram only 5 minute walk. Aldi next door.

Wouldn’t recommend this hotel although it is good location to central Manchester and had free parking. The smell of old cigarettes and mustiness in my room was absolutely appalling and so strong that when I got home I had to wash even the items I didn’t wear. People up all hours of the night whistling in the corridor and banging doors. Someone knocked on my door at midnight, I was a lone female and felt very scared therefore I didn’t answer it. I think people were smoking in the hallway. The hotel is in the same building as the job centre. There are no real windows in the rooms and they are mouldy and need a good clean. The bed is like sleeping on the floor. The pillows are practically pointless. The room and bathroom were clean and the shower very powerful which was needed after no sleep. The curtains need to be taken down and washed. The walls need a wash too or a refresh as splatters on them. The breakfast was nice for £9.99. The staff were nice. Wouldn’t go back ever again, not worth £105 a night, worth £40 at best.

The stay was not so good, the staff were friendly but the condition of the hotel was poor, the carpet in the room was stained, the walls and skirting boards were marked and the curtains were stained too and the hairdryer was supposed to be hooked on to the holder but was instead on top of a wall unit, the hotel only do continental breakfast, and there was no room attendants to be seen or heard, but it was great to get our heads down for the night. I don't think I could recommend it to anyone.

Firstly, the staff were very pleasant, no complaints there at all. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Bed was fine for a night and the bedding was clean but basic. The main bathroom features were clean and the shower was decent, but there was a lot of tile mildew in the shower area and the door was splattered with what looked like old toothpaste stains - it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Again the main areas of the room were clean but some of the walls were very grubby and stained which was unpleasant. The view from our 12th floor room was really great. I paid way more than the room was worth though it was still way cheaper than anywhere else. I imagine if I'd booked earlier and it wasn't a Saturday night, it would have been cheaper. If you can get a room at a cheap price, it's honestly fine for a couple of nights. I'd stay here again at a push if I couldn't find anywhere better.

The room seemed clean to start with, however I found a fake nail on the floor next to one of the beds which was a bit gross. There was also a fold out table between the beds that was missing which left a whole with some hinges. The room was tidy and looked fresh apart from the earlier mentioned nail… The bathroom was nice however the temperature tap on the shower was stuck so you could only have super hot showers.

Room had a strange musty odour, didnt feel fresh. Lots of marks on the walls, could do with a lick of paint and the carpet deep cleaned. Bathroom was nice but again, a strange smell. Mattress was very uncomfortable, springs gone and felt very old worn out.

The outside of the building looks like a converted high rise block of council flats and I was surprised to learn that the hotel shared the building with a JCP office and various other organisations. But when I walked into reception the first thing I noticed was the warmth, which continued upstairs where my room was. The room was basic but spotlessly clean and I smelt a touch of bleach when entering the bathroom (which was not basic - it was very modern and the shower was amazing). The single bed was really comfy and I slept like a baby. Wasn't sure I would as I could hear next door on the phone quite loudly earlier in the night and doors slamming. So if I'd had noisy neighbours during the night, my sleep may have been disturbed. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and again, the restaurant was spotlessly clean. All staff were lovely and friendly and I would not hesitate to stay here again, especially as the price was so low.

Good location, excellent reception staff, very clean and decorated to good standard, £2 parking a bonus. Close to bus and tram links. The only downside for me was the matress on the bed was too soft for me. I would definitely stay again

Unfortunately check in took around 30 minutes, everything seemed a bit manual, and there was only 2 people Infront of us in the queue. There were no bedside tables and some of the plug sockets did not work. Room was clean but beds were not all that comfortable and pillows in the bed ranged in size quite a lot, some flat as a pancake and some big and bouncy.

Very weird hotel as its a converted office block, room was warm and clean however the mattress in our room had definitely seen better days and made for 2 nights of the worse nights sleep. Everything else about this hotel was ok

The hotel is situated ideally for transport hubs to Manchester City centre! My room was clean and comfortable the bathroom was very spacious but didn’t have a bath safety mat The bed was ok but not very comfortable mattress compared to others I have slept in the check in was slow due to a large Chinese family having booking problems. It is definitely a good alternative to city centre sky high weekend hotel prices and it was value for money for me.

The hotel layout over floors in multiple story building was weird. Difficult getting cases to room. The corridors to the room was clean and warm. Room was unbarebly hot but very very quiet which was lovely. Bathroom very clean. Beds not fab but bedding clean. Breakfast great.

Now stayed here 3 times in 3 different rooms. Only issue is the shower is boiling hot and can`t turn it colder. Hence, I end up with Roasted Nuts lol

Great location, close to train station and with a supermarket directly across from the hotel. Only complaint was the room had minor issues. Pillows were so thin (2 felt like 1), bedside plug was broken and room fan covered in dust and with a broken plug so unusable. Wifi wasnt great either

The female receptionist was amazing and so helpful. My son required an emergency ambulance, and the receptionist acted so efficiently and effectively. Amazing lady! Being on level 6, we had to get the lift to either 7 and walk down one flight of stairs, or level 5 and walk up one. One of the beds was noisy due to being made up of metal springs and not very comfortable. The cleanliness was excellent and the water temperature, perfect.

I left my room to get food. Then, when I returned after a few minutes, the key would not allow me back into my room, even though I had only checked in a few hours earlier in the same evening. I had to go to reception and wait for about twenty minutes because there was only one person working there and there was a large queue of people waiting to check in. When the employee tried to fix my key, I still could not get into my room and I had to return to reception a second time. The employee eventually gave me a new key. This wasted about half an hour of my time and my food went cold. This is completely unacceptable and I will not stay here again.

Great hotel in a very convenient location in Manchester. Staff are always very friendly, helpful and polite. Especially Lilly the young woman on reception. Very good breakfast choice in the restaurant. My hotel of choice when visiting Manchester.

Terrible! Arrived later than earliest time for check in and was expected to wait for over an hour and a half - as well as about 9 other groups of people who had been there since the check in time of 2. Dodgy deposit of £150 required (for a £50 room) that would not be returned for AT LEAST 2 weeks (seemed likely it would never be returned) Waited so long we ended up missing most of the concert we travelled to see AND ended up staying somewhere else. Hotel then took out additional payments without any reasoning/contact - which expedia didn't seem to care abou Expedia have done nothing to help the situation, and i could not get in contact with them until the following day. I would not go with this hotel OR expedia

I only give 4 stars because the building itself is not too pretty but it is affordable and the rooms and bathrooms are nicely done up. It has everything you need for a stay. For us the location was convenient a 5 minute walk from Eccles station and a short bus ride away from Trafford Shopping centre. There is even a supermarket nearby. Overall we were very happy with this hotel.

Odd location in a old office block. The lifts are especially bizarre, not stopping at your floor, but between it and the one below. So if you're on the 11th floor you take the lift to the 12th and go down a flight (or to the 10th and up a flight). This must impact wheelchair users and others with mobility challenges. But when you eventually get to the rooms they are clean, modern, and functional, if somewhat basic. And it's near the station to get into central Manchester (10mins on train) or even to walk to the huge choice of shopping/dining at the Trafford Centre (30 mins). It's not expensive and has an Aldi opposite plus a Job Centre in the same building! Overall, if you're on a budget, I'd recommend it.

Easy to find, plenty of parking, close to motorway on ram, is a one way system around the hotel. Is part of a business building, reception on 2nd floor with 9 steps down to check in. Restaurant is 9 steps up on this floor. Lifts only go to floors in between so there are 9 steps either up or down to get to rooms. Managed fine with luggage. There is some redevelopment happening but only a little noise. Tram only 5 minute walk. Aldi next door.

Two pensioners let loose for the weekend! Staying at the Ox Hotel for us was very convenient. The breakfast was lovely. It’s a buffet. You can eat as much or as little as you like. We also had two evening meals at the hotel which was equally delicious. There is a large Aldi store opposite the hotel, which was very convenient for any snacks that we wanted to purchase. We took a taxi to the Coronation Street tour which cost £8.From the coronation Street tour were very close to the tram to take us to the Telford Centre for shopping where we conveniently got a bus back which stopped wedirectly opposite Aldi. It was a good weekend all round and the hotel was one of the cheapest that I found. It ticked all the boxes for us..

This was ideal for short stays. It was strange entering what was an office block but once inside the hotel was really nice. Friendly helpful staff greet you , the room was ideal for our stop over clean with fresh towels daily. The breakfast was amazing and lots of it. Something for everyone. The evening meals at the bar area were delicious and plenty of it. We ate there every night rather than go out. Overall a lovely weekend away.

Despite paying for breakfast I was informed the kitchen was closed so there would be no breakfast. No discount provided. The rooms were fine albeit minimalistic and the beds weren’t the comfiest, shower was the only saving grace. Served a purpose but wouldn’t return.

A pleasant stay for one night - parking was £2 - room was nice - small but clean. Bathroom was very modern although shower was very hot and temperature dial easy to use. Aldi is opposite. Breakfast was very nice. Could do with some better quality pillows. Overall a nice stay.

Yet again, Ox Hotel remains my go-to destination when in Manchester. Ease getting to location, plenty of low cost parking on site, rest check-in, great modern rooms with some of the best showers I’ve encountered anywhere, good value and quality bar and bar-food and finally the capable kitchen “Capo” himself, Joseph who cooks a marvellous breakfast, helped on the tables by Tracy. This is one of the top 2/3 breakfasts I enjoy all over the UK and his frittata with herbs and veggies is superb (in addition to the normal eggs…) Thank you to all of the staff.
