Stayed 1 night

The rooms are in a modern separate block next to the pub. Ours was clean, tidy with a comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. No air con but a modern fan provided a welcome alternative. The rooms have 4 dedicated off road parking bays as well as those in the pub car park. Check in is via the pub and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food menu was varied and offered a really good wide choice with discounts on certain nights. We chose the 12" Pizzas and they were excellent with different twists on ingredients to the norm. Breakfast was also very good and plentiful and catered for vegetarian options. If there is one criticism it would be about the chairs and seating in the pub itself. They are in serious need of change and are unfortunately badly stained. Having said that we did learn that the pub/hotel is under recent new ownership with plans to upgrade facilities are in the pipeline. All in all we had a pleasant enjoyable stay and would stay again if we are in the area. Too many of these establishments are having to close so they deserve to be patronised. Good luck and best wishes to the new owners.

Stayed 3 nights

Friendly hotel, very clean and food really good. The hotel did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible - and even organised a local taxi in advance to pick us up and return us to the airport, and to a wedding reception we were attending whilst there. Rooms very comfortable, nicely decorated,a really good size and were serviced every day. The hotel is not too far from Bath, Bristol or Wells and there are bus stops a very short distance from the hotel. It would have been even better if we had a car to explore the area which is absolutely stunning, but the bus served us well and was very cheap. On the down side, whilst the breakfast menu was adequate, and the food of high quality, I think it would have been improved if we had also been offered fruit, yogurt, cereals etc. Overall, we would recommend this hotel especially for anyone wishing to explore the surrounding area including the very beautiful and historic cities close by.

Tv in bar lounge not set up for even basic channels, just on a rolling red bull advert..pointless waste of electricity. Couldn’t get an evening meal before 7pm as booked up but surely residents should come first? Staff were first class, rooms clean and comfortable, would stay here again

Stayed 3 nights

Quite simply one of the best places we've stayed at. We chose this place for its location being within easy reach of a number of places we wanted to visit in Somerset - Cheddar Gorge, Shepton Mallet prison, and of course Bristol itself. The rooms are clean and modern, very comfortable and quiet. Plenty of attached parking, and the pub itself is cosy and welcoming. We had dinner there for one of the 3 nights we stayed, the food was excellent - I really enjoyed the Mexican-style burger, all the usual pub favourites are of course available. The breakfast was sumptuous, unlike other places where its normally a set option, we were given the choice from a separate breakfast menu - I enjoyed the 'full Temple', my partner enjoyed a spinach & cheese omelette. And most of all, the owners Adam & Lee were really friendly and wanted to ensure we were looked after, as were the bar staff and the lady serving breakfast in the morning. When we visit Somerset again we will definitely stay again - thanks very much!
