Beautifully presented old country pub, with welcoming, friendly staff. Family room was perfect, very spacious with a double bed for the parents and two singles for the twins. The breakfast area was a little chilly in the morning, (the morning after the first really cold night of the year, Sunday 11th December). That said, the important thing is that the accommodation was warm and comfortable. Will definitely return when next having an overnight stay in the Ipswich area. Thank you very much to Matt, Anne, Amy and the staff.

Great pub with nice rooms very clean and tidy the staff are excellent and the breakfast is good. We went to Jimmy's farm and this was the perfect location for stop over as only 5 mins away We stayed for 2 nights and the pub restaurant did excellent food people.wwerw queuing for a table So great location and great food and beer and very clean. Yes we would stay again.

After a really long drive it was absolutely wonderful to arrive at the Sorrel horse. The room was lovely , cozy but spacious, the pub was nostalgic and the home cooked food fantastic. There was even a playpark for the kids outside. 10 out of 10!

Everyone was really friendly and really accommodating. We needed to eat breakfast earlier than the advertised times and this was no issue. The garden was great and the play area for the children fab. Very dog friendly.

We stayed for just one night and had no complaints whatsoever. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious, and we left feeling well-rested. Bed was comfortable. I would recommend it. Although we had a shared bathroom, it was spotless, well-maintained, and perfectly functional—so it didn’t affect our stay at all. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic beer garden, overall great.

This was my second visit. I love staying here. The staff are most welcoming, as are the locals. The hospitality, food and beers are all excellent. The hotel building, bar, restaurant and grounds are most pleasant. The cuisine was served quickly and is very tasty. It is in a lovely place, which is quiet and also not too far from the town. It is also easily accessible. Very easy going and no complications. If I go to Ipswich again I will stay at The Sorrell Horse again!

For the price I can’t really complain and this was really just a bed for the night as we had to be somewhere local early next morning. We did not get the room we booked & initially were given a twin room. The lady found us a tight double room but this was upstairs and next to a couple of rooms that shared a bathroom in the hall. I lost count of the times the doors slammed during the night. However our room and bathroom were very clean just dated. Breakfast was great and all the staff during our stay were very pleasant, friendly & helpful. If you are looking to eat in the restaurant then best to book as this was very popular with the locals

We stayed at the Sorrel Horse for one night and would certainly book again. The rooms are in a separate building to the inn itself so are nice and quiet. We were in room 6 which faced the road but there isn't a lot of traffic so still peaceful. The room itself wasn't the biggest but perfectly fine, with plenty of storage space and immaculately clean. Breakfast in the morning was a full English and delicious, though just cereals etc were on offer if you want something lighter. Add to this the friendly staff and I'm not surprised it gets rated "fabulous".

Apart from being a little far from town, we couldn't complain. The floorboards are quite creaky so it was loud when people walked upstairs. Bathroom was very clean, the shower was quite tight but the temperature was good. The breakfast was lovely. Staff were very helpful and friendly

Apart from being a little far from town, we couldn't complain. The floorboards are quite creaky so it was loud when people walked upstairs. Bathroom was very clean, the shower was quite tight but the temperature was good. The breakfast was lovely. Staff were very helpful and friendly

This was my second visit. I love staying here. The staff are most welcoming, as are the locals. The hospitality, food and beers are all excellent. The hotel building, bar, restaurant and grounds are most pleasant. The cuisine was served quickly and is very tasty. It is in a lovely place, which is quiet and also not too far from the town. It is also easily accessible. Very easy going and no complications. If I go to Ipswich again I will stay at The Sorrell Horse again!

Staff were nice and friendly. Unfortunately the two meals we had off the special board weren’t very special and had little taste. Breakfast was ok. The shower which was very old sprayed water all over the floor as it had no directional head, water was a nice temperature once we got it going. The bed had a rubberised protector under the sheet that made for a very hot sweaty night. Neither of us slept well. It’s a real shame as the staff and pub were nice. Unfortunately we would not go back

Great pub with nice rooms very clean and tidy the staff are excellent and the breakfast is good. We went to Jimmy's farm and this was the perfect location for stop over as only 5 mins away We stayed for 2 nights and the pub restaurant did excellent food people.wwerw queuing for a table So great location and great food and beer and very clean. Yes we would stay again.

We stayed for just one night and had no complaints whatsoever. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious, and we left feeling well-rested. Bed was comfortable. I would recommend it. Although we had a shared bathroom, it was spotless, well-maintained, and perfectly functional—so it didn’t affect our stay at all. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic beer garden, overall great.
