The hotel has several buildings, but the only parking is near the main entrance. In order to get from the Ocean Tower the building farthest away is by tram or boat - which run every 20-25 minutes with no prescribed schedule. You can’t plan and if you miss it - you have a long wait. We felt like prisoners.

Gorgeous property with stunning views. Tram was not working a lot of the time and the half mile walk to the lobby was a bit much at times. Boats we’re only going one day out of the six days we were there. Would love to see a few more options for dinner. Overall beautiful hotel with stunning landscape

Absolutely beautiful property. The lagoon pool alone was worth it. Sea turtles in the 'pool'? Yes please! Keep in mind, parking is $48 a day, which wasn't obvious.

Resort is beautiful and has so many great amenities to enjoy. The downside is the location of the parking lot. You either have to walk a pioneer’s journey to your car, or take the slowest tram known to mankind that is barely faster than walking.

The main pool was closed for two days for a private event. We booked this hotel for two nights in order to use the pool. They did not notify us at checkin that some of the resort amenities would be closed two of the three days. We still had to pay the entire resort fee without getting to use half of he resort.

The resort is huge and the ocean tower is on the far end. Its about a 20 min walk from entrance to the ocean tower or you have to wait for the tram that runs every 20 min. The resort is beautiful but there is no beach so if you want to go to any of the local beaches or out to eat off resort its 20-30 min in and out...bring your walking shoes.

It is a beautiful resort but unfortunately its expanse and lack of onsite parking, ridiculously slow monorail service, and boat service not operational made it completely inconvenient. Lugging 2 large suitcases, and a bicycle box to the furthest hotel on the property took 20 minutes and we are athletes competing in Lavaman. I felt sorry for families and seniors. The boat canal was clogged with algae and we were told they didn’t hire boat drivers . The monorail is so slow and doesn’t run early or late so it’s not convenient at all. Put a parking lot in behind Ocean Towers. Have electric golf carts available for transporting luggage.

If you don’t mind having cockroaches around in your room, then this is the place to be. I stayed here for 3 nights and we saw 5 roaches crawling around including 2 in our room. When I finally found a dead one in my room, I immediately called guest service for help, the lady that picked up the phone made it seem like I was making a big deal out of it. And about 1 hr later, a cleaner shows up at my door, with an angry, disgusted look in her face, with a broom stick in her hand. Without any words she just swept the dead roach out and left it in the hall way, right in front of my door. My worst hotel experience ever. This hotel has a really nice view, right by the beach, and that probably is the only good thing about it. Staffs are not friendly, and overall the facilities are very dirty. This is a 4 star hotel, but it felt like 2 star(just for the location and the view). Never going back here!

Nice property layout, but limited services, especially dining options on the resort, and not close options off-property. We reserved an ocean-view room, and we didn’t get one. They could not find us another ocean view room. The room had roaches, and we had to ask them to treat them twice in 4 days there.

The grounds were wonderful, but the room was terrible and subpar — it was beyond outdated, old furniture, tiny full beds, ripped carpet, dirty vents, ants crawling in the bathroom, and has and over powering musty smell. Half of the hotel is updated, of course we would have an older room. Spoke to the hotel on the second day to see if we could move rooms but did not get a call back. Would come back only to an updated room.

Our time as great. We had a remodeled room. Even through there was construction, we didn't here anything. I read a lot of reviews and about bad parking. We never had a problem. There as only a $6 difference between self park and valet. Valet was great! The canal boats were not working where we were there, but the the tram came every view minutes. Suggest adding basics like salt, pepper and oil to the kitchen. My experience at Ocean Tower was 1000 times better than the 1 night we stayed in Palace Tower. I only wish I was able to have extended our stay at Ocean Tower by 1 night besides moving over to the other side of the resort.

The property and the lagoon are amazing, the rooms are dated but worth putting up with for the amazing views and the overall grounds. Fridge and beds are from 1980s, sleeping on the fold out couch is like sleeping on rocks. Check in process is slow and stuck in 1985. The process could use some speeding up is an understatement more like a complete overhaul. Food at restaurants are at extortion prices. Self parking for $48 a day is down right robbery. Monorail runs at the speed of a snail it's better to walk.

Our room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The balcony was a perfect spot for people watching and seeing the sunset. Swimming pools were fun. Out of order ice machine, difficult to locate water bottle filling station, and slow WiFi were my only complaints.

I found the staff to be very nice and helpful, especially Kimara, who greeted me multiple times. She was awesome and always made me feel very welcome and glad I made the choice to stay here! This is a large Hilton complex with the Ocean Tower being a long way from the main lobby. Once you get your bearings it turns out to be about a 12 minute walk between the two. There is a tram to take you around, but if your luck is like mine, just as you walk up to the loading platform the tram is just taking off. This is the first time I got to stay in one of the rooms that has been converted to a time share. Even though I didn’t use most of them having a microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer can be handy. But there are some features that seem totally senseless to me. Like having a toilet that has a lid that opens and water sprays automatically with light or motion in the bathroom, regardless if you have any intention of using it. Or a bathroom without an exhaust fan that has a shower with a large glass door that opens outwards so all the water on the door falls onto the floor.

Some of the female staff members had bland and borderline rude personalities compared to EVERY other staff member on the other Hawaiian islands! It’s definitely a chore getting anywhere on the property but it’s doable. The walk from the ocean towers to the lobby only took us 10/11 minutes. The ocean towers are updated and the rooms are spacious and clean. Loved the room and loved how it had its own pools, slides. And beautiful ocean views. It’s an awesome option for families and there’s tons of (expensive) activities to do! The offered late check out for 9pm for a $150 fee which we thought was quite reasonable as we had a late flight. Overall I would def recommend this hotel.

Check in was at 4, room was not ready until 6. Long lines of people checking in. By the time we got into our room, changed and to the pools the slides were closed. This is a beautiful property and lots to do for all ages. Ocean tower rooms are beautifully remodeled. Sadly, they won’t give you room keys on check in until you talk to a timeshare salesperson. I find it incredibly rude to hold keys hostage when I’ve already paid for the room. The last thing I want to do on arrival is be hit up for timeshare purchase presentation. Maybe they went to capitalize on you being tired from travel? Other than that service is great, grounds are exceptional, on site food is good to excellent. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Please reconsider the key hold situation. That ruins an otherwise great place!!

The wonderful experience was ruined the last day when the pre-scheduled bell hop service was 20 mins late causing me to have to walk my luggage from Ocean Tower 1/4 of a mile to the main lobby. I’m a disabled veteran. The delay almost resulted in missing my flight. It cause unnecessary stress at the end of my otherwise great vacation.

Property is aging, lots of signs of wear and tear. Staff at check-in desk were indifferent, rude and not helpful. Boats to get around the property were gone, train was slow and not regular enough. Took 35 minutes to walk from our room to self-park lot and we walk fast. Limited mediocre options for food and drinks on the property

The property is well maintained for the most part. The tram broke a couple of times so it was very difficult to walk over a mile and a half to get to where we needed to go. It’s a great place I have returned to 4 times over the years. Beautiful views and sunset and sunrise. The staff was rude and seemed unhappy to work there. They pushed me into a sales pitch that I regret ever agreeing to. Derek Foster was incredibly aggressive and hostile because I wouldn’t buy timeshare. Overall I really like the property and if improvements to staff being happier there maybe we would consider coming back.

We liked that this resort was located on the coast. Sunsets were spectacular!! We liked the Lagoon (guaranteed to see marine life especially sea turtles), various swimming pools (including an adult pool), Dolphin Quest including "Sunrise with Dolphins", light breakfast (provided with our package deal) with 100% Kona Coffee from coffee shop located on the property, tram and boat for getting around, etc. What we didn't like: not enough affordable eating places on the property. We did eat at the Lagoon Grill twice which had good food with affordable prices but choices were limited. We ate at the Italian Restaurant. The food was tasty but way over priced. We were grateful for Food Trucks which came onto the property on a Wednesday night. Good choice. AND we were glad that the Kings Shop and Queens Marketplace was nearby (within a 20-30 minute walk) or take the shuttle for $5 per person. We would have preferred having a breakfast buffet included with our getaway package. Paying an additional $55 for a breakfast buffet was too expensive for us. While we had a standard room (not newly renovated), it was fine but we would have liked having a microwave in the room. Overall, we were pleased with our tropical getaway which Expedia provided. Thank you!!

This is a beautiful resort in a beautiful location about 20 miles North of Kona. The views are beautiful, the pools are nice, there is a nice salt lake lagoon that is connected to the ocean. The biggest downside is the need to walk. The resort is designed to be unnecessarily large and you need to walk quite a bit to get from some place to another, to the extent that walking can take away from the fun. There are not enough food options and it is difficult to discover some of the relatively convenient food locations because the resort is too large and you may find yourself hungry and have to walk for 30 minutes so that you can get to the restaurants/groceries in the nearby shopping centers. We were handed bottled waters upon check-in and were told that there are refill stations throughout, but there was only one refill station that was quite far from our room.

The property itself has only one entrance. We stayed at the Ocean Tower which is about an 8-10 minute walk. However they do offer a free tram service to take you to other locations, as well as a boat. The views make this place! It’s by the ocean front, and they do have a rocky beach. There are three pools, two child-friendly pools, and one adult pool. And they’re very clean! They also have a sealed-off part of the ocean where you can paddle board, kayak, snorkel, or just swim! The water is very clean, and it’s filled with beautiful fish that you can just watch all day. The staff are very friendly and helpful! We didn’t have any negative interactions with any members of their team. We didn’t eat on property, but we would walk every day to the King or Queen’s shops, which are located about 35 minutes away, walking distance. There is a good variety of things to eat there, as well as a market for convenient shopping! To the left of the property is the Waikoloa Beach, which offers plenty of room for tourism and some a turtle preserve. Although it was a bit pricy, we did think it was worth the stay! It was beautiful!

The property was really beautiful but it was far from restaurants and beaches. The pools were distanced from ocean tower and you needed to walk for about 10 minutes until you get to the pools. There were only one resturant in the resort that was open after 6pm and it was very pricey. The room had an amazing ocean view but it was very old, the room service were cleaned the room every day but the carpet and curtains were really old and dirty

Incredible property indeed! We had an ocean front unit. We paid a lot of money for. But it had some kind of eye sore right in front of our room with rope around it and a light on it 24 hours a day. We waited almost 30 to get our room after check in. We should have moved but we were so happy to be in a 2 bed/2bath ocean front. The tram so slow and unreliable. Not enough food options everything was so expensive on the property. Snack way over priced and shuttle to market was $5.00 each way. Boats not working so we walked a lot (room to lobby 1 mile) Taxi was super expensive but not Ubers would come. Renting a car was less. I would still live there, not crowded and quite. I wish they had a real beach, not a lagoon. Only half our building was remodeled, weird and they hit you hard for a timeshare. I would still come back. Not many other options for 2b/2b. I want to move there again. But next time Maui.

I liked the look of the property, view beautiful and peaceful. I was not fond of the bugs that I saw at night. I understand it is open and therefore hard to keep free of bugs, but the large cockroaches were very unsettling to see inside the hallways as well as finding a smaller one inside the rental vehicle. As for the food, I did not like the NUI restaurant. We had pizza and chicken parm and both were not very good at all. The coffee shops were very good. We loved the pools, especially the large one. Water temp was perfect. Room was very comfortable and having the ocean right outside our balcony was great. We left the door opened through the night and slept with the sounds of the ocean, which was fantastic. Paying an additional $50 a day for a resort fee and then ANOTHER $50 a day for parking was very disappointing. This cost should have been included in the price of the hotel stay. Overall it was a very good vacation that we enjoyed. Not sure if I would recommend it though.

I only have 3 complaints… 1. the check in people at the main lobby are the most unhelpful people ever. We stayed in the ocean tower and had a heck of a time figuring out how to get there, even after asking the main lobby attendants no one told us we had to get there by tram so we drove around for 30 minutes trying to find our way, finally found it after being exhausted from all day travel. 2. Eating at the resort is EXPENSIVE! We ate 1 meal there, horrible service. We ate off resort the rest of the stay. 3. Tram is slow, it’s faster to walk… it’s .52 miles from the main lobby to ocean tower. The boat hardly runs and stopped working on our ride, had to reserve it back to boarding area. Otherwise, it was a great stay! So much to do especially for families with children. I can’t wait to take my kids next time!!!

this is a beautiful property. Parking is 50.00 per night and very, very far from hotel room. took 30 mins by tram. my room was 1092, so also, very far from anything. My toilet was not working, so had to have someone come in to repair. Room could use an update. Staff not the most cordial for the most part. Dinner at the pub thurs night, waitress had nothing to say, not friendly and breakast today, waitress was not very friendly, just turning and burning tables @ 50.00 per person for brunch. most people I met and talked to, go off property for meals. perhaps due to the staff?

Amazing location, but this property is definitely on the downside of luxury. The room was great. View was excellent. But there are so many small details of neglect and deferred maintenance. The monorail is lethargically slow. There was a cracked window in the car when I did take it, but most of the time I walked as it was faster. The landscaping looks thrown together. Definitely is no Disneyland when it comes to trimming and planting. The small pools at our hotel had some minnows, but were mostly algae. It seems the minnows were mostly to keep mosquitoes from breeding and not much else. They should be cleaned and stocked with more interesting fish. The art along the walk is just eclectic and weird. So much Thai and Asian art that seem mostly irrelevant to the property. The food was 3rd rate and the service was pathetic. My buddy ordered a club with a side salad and a side of ranch. He got a burnt club sandwich - no side salad and no ranch. There were several other experiences just like this when ordering food - forgotten items, overcooked, or just carelessly thrown together. The catering crew needs more training and better attention to detail. My next step would be to hire new a groundskeeper, and install more local / native flowering plants. Install bird deterrents along the top of the towers to keep them from hanging around squawking all night. Up the maintenance budget to take care of all the minor neglect all over the place. Chipped / scratched paint is every where.

I really only have 2 complaints. The first and most important is that when the hotel tells us upon check-in for a week stay that the room won’t be cleaned til day 3 of our 7 day stay (which we had NO PROBLEM with) but then get to our room and have ONLY 2 bath towels. Hilton should AT LEAST put 4 bath towels for 2 people. Of course we had to keep calling for more towels which is not efficient for us OR Hilton. 2nd complaint is that at the pool the towel kiosk does not open until 9am. People are at the pool at 8 am and by 8:30 the line gets long.
