None of the above. It was a lovely room. But not convenient. Over priced.

We had an awesome time at Mallard Inn. The rooms are newly renovated and beautifully designed. The property is a historic building right next to Quidi Vidi Wharf. As the property just opened under new ownership when we visited, there were minor hickups (like eg. a missing bin in the room) which have been quickly resolved by the attentive and friendly stuff. Parking on site is limited and extended dinner options require a car to go into town.

While the room was beautiful and the location was lovely, our stay here didn't quite live up to our expectations, especially given that it was the most expensive accommodation of our trip to Newfoundland. The hospitality was a bit disappointing, particularly when compared to the exceptional warmth we experienced at other places we stayed. We also encountered some practical issues. The lack of clear parking signs meant that public parkers often used the guest spaces, which was frustrating. Additionally, the breakfast policy was confusing—it seems to be included with some rooms but is an add-on for others. This kind of inconsistency feels odd at this price point. Finally, we were often disturbed by the noisy common area doors and the sounds of other guests coming and going.
