Upon checking in, I was informed that your car park was full. I had driven for 3 hours and wanted my bags collected from my car and an undercover, secure car park for my car. Instead, I had to deposit my children and bags in the reception and then drive a block away to the Convention Centre Car Park and walk back to the hotel in the pouring rain. I would be fine with that if it was a cheap motel but I expect better from a $450 p/night hotel. The check in girl (Ash) couldn’t have cared less. Upon checkout the next day, I had to leave children and bags in reception while I walked a block away to retrieve my car and drive back to the hotel. If I had be forewarned, I would’ve booked the nearby Rydges Hotel and had an obliging concierge collect my bags and arrange valet parking for my car for the same Tarif. Lesson learned. I will never return to The Novotel

Parking was atrocious, at nearby convention centre, took ages to get a car park that wasnt full, not open next day before 9.00am, and not advised by hotel staff. Shower curtain was dirty and grotty, carpet in room appeared dirty

A horrible experience. Booked in and they insisted I pay the hotel upfront even though I had booked via expedia and they had authenticated my credit card. Arrived at the room the corridor wall was full of patches, there were no hangars or or glasses in the room. These were delivered later. Next day return to room late afternoon, the used towels are still on the floor together with all the dirty glasses. It takes 30 minutes to have towels and clean glasses delivered to our room, told the hotel is very busy and cant provide ta quicker service. The gym is not clean and the equipment in poor repair, 3 of the 4 Bikes either had parts missing or were broken, the pedals of the elliptical trainer were so dirty that my shoes stuck to the pedals. Reported this nothing was done. The service of the room the next day was lacking, we received clean towels but all our dirty glasses were left behind. I am a silver member - when I asked why my stay did not qualify for the points I was told it was because we booked via an external booking engine. Will not use the Novotel chain if I can help it.

The property does not have enough parking for guests and uses a first in first serve approach to the car spaces they do have available. When the parking filled up, no one advised us prior to our arrival. The overflow car parking is an extra charge and a considerable walk from the hotel (when you consider carrying bags). Overall, the hotel itself is lovely, but this experience with the parking made the stay frustrating and tainted.

Room was good and comfortable. Wasn’t clean though. Floor hadn’t been vacuumed, fingernails on floor and still hair in the bathroom. Was a bit yucky with a crawling baby. Pool area looked nice though didn’t get to use.

There needs to be a bigger and better coffee machine for guests, it failed twice within an hour. Food was ok but not a huge variety especially healthier options. The omelette station is a great idea. Staff were friendly. Room was not very clean, dusty and had old puke stains on the carpet and part of the wall near my bed. The beds and pillows were very comfy and that alone was the best part.

very typical modern hotel with a twist, whoever the designer / architect / consultants were that came up with the design for the bathrooms needs a good kick up the behind & fed to the sharks. why would anyone think that retractable walls, a glass sliding door that can only cover either the WC or the shower at a time & a night light for the bathroom that can only be switched on/off from from the far side of the bed & will always be seen from the bedroom is acceptable. If you prefer to live in ignorance of your partners ablutions there is prob better hotels for you, if uv been worn down after years together with no secrets left to be discovered u cant go wrong Other than that the hotel itself & all staff were excellent & in good location.

Overall we enjoyed our stays at this hotel. Our only feedback would be in relation to the separation of the bathroom from the bedroom area. In the junior suite for example the full wall glass partition may not be to everyone’s liking due to the lack of privacy it provides. It is definitely an unusual design concept.

I have two major issues with this property. Firstly, it was extremely noisy from traffic on the street! Very poor insulation, sounded like the window was open - they need to address this by retrofitting better quality windows and insulation. Secondly, the semi-bright floor-level lighting in the bathroom bleeds into the main sleeping area due to the open design - and worst of all, this light cannot be turned off by the guest! Incredibly poor room lighting design - I had to sleep with my eye mask on. Overall I felt it was poor value and did not live up to the Novotel name and the price positioning of this particular property.

Bathrooms that are not enclosed with actual walls and use frosted glass instead are enough for me not to want to stay again. The rooms also lack personality and feel like a work meeting room. Room wasn’t ready at check in time. Breakfast options never restocked.

The location is great. The staff is friendly. The AC is cold. But the toilet is basically in the room with only a pull out wall to give you privacy, which really offers you none. Any toilet use will be heard by everyone in the room. With 4 of us in the room, that wasn’t great. Total design flaw.

Location was perfect and very walkable to nearby shops, restaurants, bars, parks and fun things to do. The staff were absolutely amazing. The hotel was very clean with great views. The restaurant inside the hotel was delicious and well priced. I highly recommend this hotel, I would stay here again the next time I return.

my only complaint was, I had checked for in advance about an early check-in since my flight was coming in quite early in the morning and was told there was a possibility we could get in our room by lunchtime and every time we checked, they kept pushing the time back until it was actual check in time and they were kind of snippy about it and if they have been upfront that there was no possibility of an early check-in I would’ve requested an extra night as opposed to being stuck in the hotel lobby for the entire day

The staff was as unhelpful as it was uninformed. They knew NOTHING of the local area, could not offer useful dining suggestions and were of no use arranging for airport transfers. Aside from nice ( but expensive ) rooms, the hotel has little to offer.

Check in was slow. We waited at least 20 minutes with the reception staff busy attending to lost property. Our receptionist at check in was friendly and helpful, and apologetic about the delay. Our room was comfortable and clean. And the hotel overall was well maintained. I asked reception for a dental kit (in person) and rather than just providing one, the receptionist said she’d have one sent to the room. 5 hours later, no dental kit. I went down and spoke to the same receptionist who then provided me a dental kit from the drawer…. Directly behind her. Little actions contribute greatly to demonstrating basic hospitality. As someone who travels frequently for work — I can overlook busy check in, or a forgotten amenity. However I would not say overall I was made to feel welcome. More like a both for asking again.

Overall this is a very good hotel for business and regular travel. But, it stands on a back street. So, the street that the hotel faces is a bit dark at night time. But it is basically safe and good. except their restaurant and bar are closed at 10:00 pm.

We stayed for 4 nights, and the experience was faultless. Great location just 5 mins walk from all the activities in South Bank. Felt safe at night. Modern hotel in excellent condition, very clean, great service from all staff. Room was very well-equipped, modern and clean. Breakfast was very good and good value. Reception and bar / restaurant area very well-presented. Good pool and well-equipped gym. Only two tiny criticisms - the outdoor pool was a little too cold to really use (I understand it can be heated), and the shower in our room wasn't very powerful. But these are tiny compared to the overall excellent experience.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and clean and the king bed and pillows comfy. Great view over city from 7th floor position. The brekkie was huge and delicious. This is 2nd time have stayed here and wasnt disappointed. A 10 min walk to South Bank Trans St and about same to QPAC and lots of nearby restaurants.

The breakfast selection was disappointing and the wait for basics such as bacon and eggs were too long. There was one pancake machine with a long line and then out of mixture. The room was excellent. Spacious, very clean and comfortable. Room service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely go back, but probably go to a local cafe for breakfast.
