Free ample parking, easy access to room, kitchenette to cook/ heat up meals, no staff on property but runs efficiently- they respond to requests in a timely manner. A bit expensive considering the 7 km unpaved road though it is an easy drive- no issues there

The rooms/apartments are fairly newly built, clean, spacious, well furnished with kitchenette and good size bathroom. You park your car right outside of your room like a motel setup. There is no lobby or staff, you get your room key via the lock box on each door. The hotel is in a very desolate area, takes over 30min to get to when you drive off route 1 and onto an unpaved dirt/gravel road, very bumpy. No lights no nothing just open land. Very hard to get to if you are driving in the dark. Nothing is nearby (40min away) so you better get groceries and food before you head to the hotel.

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, quiet, modern, well equipped. The nicest place we stayed in Iceland. Tip: Yes, there is quite a long, unpaved road leading from the main coast road to Stracta. The road is fine, just keep going.

The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. Lots of outlets too. The employees were very responsive when we needed something. It’s remote but most places are in that area of Iceland. I would definitely stay there again!

This is a new property. There are still works in progress but no workers present maybe it was weekend. The unit has everything we needed, exceptionally clean. The drive from the main road took about 12 minutes. The morning we checked out, sky was blue. We enjoyed the drive back to the highway. There are mossy lava rocks, crystal clear streams, goats… The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because I didn’t receive any emails for door code or check in information prior to arrival. I had to call the number on the notice posted on the property.

Overall great property and awesome experience but bathrooms showers in few rooms don’t drain properly and ended up flooding the bathroom.

Beautiful apartment. It had comfortable beds and the entire place was spotless. Views in the morning were amazing. Really appreciated the coffee as well!! It is very remote. Long gravel road off the beaten path. Bring snacks, food and drinks because there is nothing on this stretch of Hwy 1 anyway. We stayed here on our way from Reykjavik to Glacier Lagoon. Perfect spot for an overnight stay.

Why does this apartment complex exist in the middle of literally nowhere? We don't know, but it was very nice! As we drove toward it, we were questioning whether it actually existed because it's far down a smooth dirt road surrounded by literally nothing. The room was very nice, clean, shower was great, kitchenette had plates, cups, utensils for 4, a nice couch and TV. We loved our stay.

Close to the glacier and in the middle of nowhere. Just great to relax. Very clean and comfy apartment incl. kitchen.

New, good condition, warm, comfortable apartment with amazing views of mountains. Underfloor heating in bathroom and entrance area was wonderful. All the little extras thought of in the kitchen, very well equipped place.

The appartement itself is very clean and modern. However, it is really in the modèle of no where, 5 miles in the country… which is a little bit confusing. The worst part though is that it is like the walls are made cardboard… I could have has a conversation with the people in the appartement next to mine very easily. The price was good and the cleanliness excellent, but due to the noise and the weird location, I would not rent there in the future.

The room was clean and modern style. Unique location, I liked it. The staff was good and warm welcome. Coffee was soooo good. But the room had no soundproofing, so I could hear conversations and footsteps, everything from the next rooms.

Easy check-in, the apartment offers everything you need. The walls are a little thin and you can hear the people next door talking. Make sure to bring earplugs with you, if it bothers you. Only downside is the way to the accommodation on the gravel road.

Wayyy off the path. Nothing around. Super easy self check-in. Clean new looking place. Super tiny bathroom. Shower very very small. Nice kitchen area and provided coffee essentials. Easy working tv. Still basic but nice.

Aucune réception, très compliqué d’obtenir le code pour la boîte à clefs de la chambre. Pas un hôtel mais un complexe d’appartement dans le milieu de nulle part. Pas de restaurant ou d’épicerie à mois de 20 minutes. Il faut prévoir le coup avant l’arrivée. Très décevant comme service, mais l’appartement est très récent, bien équipé et propre. On ne peut pas le recommander en raison du processus d’accueil qui est très décevant.

Don’t doubt yourself when driving down the road. Just keep driving with car windows up. Didn’t receive any email about check in process from the property; staff was actually there waiting; saying they don’t do email as we booked via Expedia. Nice room as it’s a very new facility. Had to wear eye mask as the curtains doesn’t block the light. Oh one big bummer—WiFi not working. Several phone calls with no resolutions 😞

We could not get in our room because the lock box was broken and i have been lucky enough to find somebody to help me after 1 hrs and half of stress because its a very remote location

Wish I had known this was miles off the road on an unlit and unpaved path. No staff on property.

While communication is great and we were given clear direction to reach the property. Upon arriving we discovered there is no hot water and the heaters are not working. We attempted calling and emailing in late hours but didn’t receive any response.

This guest house was super comfortable and staff communication was great… super convenient check-in. Only downside, is it’s in the middle of nowhere. 8 km on a gravel road. But… place is great. Might be best accommodation within 100km so don’t let the dirt road discourage you. You can see the horizon over the volcanic plane and ponder.

7 Kilometer Schotterweg bis zur Unterkunft im Nirgendwo. Diese Info wäre von Vorteil gewesen, aber es war auch schön so im „Nirgendwo“ zu wohnen.

You're really in the "middle of nowhere" and that's a fantastic feeling. The road towards the hotel is a gravel road (>4km). Make sure to bring your own food because there is nothing to find around. This really is a fantastic location

This is a remote location, and as such, we were able to walk out our door and see the northern lights. The room was small but clean and comfortable. We arrived late on the day of our check-in, so it would've been helpful to know we needed to pick up food before arriving. It is at least a 20 km roundtrip to do so, and if it is late (after 6pm) many stores are closed. This accommodation is a work in progress, so don't expect a flawless experience. They are getting some kinks worked out. The heat did go out one evening. However, when I called to report it, they were already working on it and had it restored soon. The contactless check-in means you will get an email with a code to retrieve your room key from the lockbox on the door. In theory this is nice. However, with the remoteness of the location and the southeast being less hospitable to tourists traveling on their own, some contact would have been nice. There is no reception area to ask questions about activities or where to go for food, you are on your own. Knowing what to expect will help make the experience a positive one to remember.

The apartment was nice and clean, but VERY remote and unmarked from roadway.

It’s located about 15 minutes off paved road. We loved experiencing rural scenery of that part of southern Iceland.

L’hébergement était impeccable et bien adapté pour une famille. Toutefois, il est important de noter qu’il se situe au minimum à 40 minutes de Kirkjubaejarklaustur. Aucune restauration à proximité, prévoir des provisions.

This property was very new, nicely furnished. Comfy beds, nice kitchen. Liked the special coffee & chocolates, nice touch. Excellent view of Northern Lights as it is dark there. This was kind of pricey compared to other places we stayed. Isolated, rough road off the highway (it had rained).

The place itself is remote but so gorgeous! They provide you with coffee and milk which was great.
