The hotel online looked very nice and a good price per night. Free breakfast and pool. Property was under construction. No pool, no breakfast. Dogs barking in rooms. Room smelled. Room was large and nice except smells of dog and the couch bed mattress was in bad condition. There was nothing online about being under construction.

Great location but under heavy construction!! Entire entrance and complete first floor torn out, dust and debris everywhere. No food or drink except for a single coffee pot in lobby and a drink case with sodas. Very loud construction noises all day, every day of stay.

Elevators were down and we were on the 6th floor. Kids running the hallways at 1am. Dirty, very unfriendly staff especially during checkin. Not much parking available. Will not stay again.

Very spacious room with full size fridge. Very clean and comfortable. In town for baseball tournament and would highly recommend to all the baseball families. Huge laundry room that’s free of charge! Thank you for a great stay!!!

Hotel is under renovation and obviously needs it. Staff was friendly but lobby was closed off w plastic and registration was a table w a computer on top of it. It worked but wasn’t expecting a construction zone. Room was spacious but well used over the years.

Our room was not clean. We found an entire chicken nugget in the pull-out. No linens for the pull out and we had already gone to the desk for soap. The pool was green and unusable. And there was no sign of breakfast anywhere. I was certain this was included. It looked like construction may be going on, so hopefully they are renovating.

The entire staff was very professional. Now the elevators needs ac ( too hot) , it was an uncomfortable feeling while waiting to get to my floor. The toilet continues to run but stops when you tap the handle ( flusher ) several times. The hotel is near, several restaurants which is convenient.

The property was under renovation when we stayed. The front entrance was unusable at check in. We had to search the property to find a propped door to enter around the side. Elevators were unsafe- would get stuck. The entire property inside and out were a construction zone. Originally I was put in an upgraded king suite. We had three people. The front desk told me that we could use the recliner as an extra bed. When I said no- I was moved to a room with a pullout sofa- which I originally booked. When I went downstairs I was handed linens to take to my room myself. Overall it was a terrible stay. We won’t be returning.

The room smelled terrible - like someone had just cleaned up vomit. I almost asked to change rooms, but our family staying down the hall had the same complaint about their room. We think the cleaning crew used dirty water. The bathroom counter wasn’t cleaned with the right product, so it looked gross. The rest of the room was good. The beds were comfy. The bathroom was clean. Kitchenette was well stocked.

There was no warm water only cold. A dead cockroach in the bathroom which makes one wonder if any cleaning was done. The night auditor wasn’t helpful basically said “to bad there’s no hot water at least you have water”.

I love Candlewood Suites on Inverness, in Birmingham AL. The rooms are clean and DON’T smell like cigarettes. They are very nice, and the kitchen in the suites have been updated.

Very strong perfume smells in the hallway. I felt like i could taste it. The rooms were nice looking but looking at everthing, we did not have new tissue. There was waters in the fridge from the person who stayed prior to us. The roof collapsed on the first floor due to a water leak which caused us to not have hot water. While this may not have been controllable, we were not comforable with staying here. The staff did take care of us by providing a refund for one night. Shawn and one other employee that works morning shifts were really sweet and caring.

Our hallway was almost unwalkable because of the smell of cigarette smoke. I told the guy at the front desk after checkin & he brushed it off. The next morning I told her that within just a few minutes in our room we could also smell it in our room & 3/4 of our family members have asthma, so it made for a rough night. Her response— well they will get charged a $300 fee. I said well that’s great for y’all to be able to hopefully clean it, but not for your other guests who had to suffer through it all night. She wasn’t rude, however she also didn’t apologize & nor did the guy the night before. The room was nice, but we will never stay again since they didn’t seem to take the smoking concern seriously.

The hotel is in a very convenient location. The beds are average but I do like they provide 4-5 pillows per bed. We came for a girls’ weekend, needing convenience and safety. This hotel is better suited for long-term stays since it comes with a full fridge, dishwasher, and other kitchen amenities. My complaints are the room units need a switch to keep the fan running instead of kicking on and off. That kept us awake. You could also hear the elevator all night, again, the white noise from a constant fan would have prevented any outside noises. I forgot my toothbrush and they were out. This I don't fault them for just because it was during the time of Hurricane Milton so they might have given away all of them. But still would think they should have had plenty.

The staff was amazing! Very professional, incredibly helpful and considerate. My room was just okay. There was a slight odor from the fridge, the fridge was also running loudly all night long and the floor hadn’t been vacuumed (I saw multiple hair pins on the floor but I just picked them up so it was fine). I was only there for one night so it was what it was. Every other aspect was a 9/10, the room itself was a 7/10

Price is great for the value! Checking in was super easy with a friendly staff. My husband and I only stayed one night as we're driving through on a road trip with our pup and had a great experience overall. Pros- Large and clean rooms, Dog-friendly with a dediated relieving area in the parking lot, Great location Cons - It feels like it a slightly older hotel, the water pressure in the shower wasn't very strong, however they offer DIY laundry service and gym 24/7. Great for a quick trip!

The property is clean, well appointed and roomy. A couple of maintenance issues in the room (broken drawer..just a screw that had come out, broken power receptacle cover and broken USB plugs in the bedside power station) but they weren’t that big of a problem. The room was nice. They gave me no receipt when we checked out ...said "Expedia would do that". Expedia didn't, of course, so I checked my credit card transactions only to find that the Candlewood had charged an additional $75 before the trip and, if that was a deposit, it still hasn't been refunded days after our stay. The staff was otherwise courteous and helpful.

We were traveling with our family on the way to vacation and the overall experience we had at this hotel and with its staff was horrible. Upon checking in, the lady at the counter (Erica) was extremely rude to my husband and my children, including making rude eye-rolls at my autistic son who was stimming. The facilities themselves were under renovation so we tried to be understanding. However, even still, the room was disgusting and did not look like it had been cleaned. There was sticky, who-knows-what on just about every light switch and remote. The pool was not open and looked more similar to a swamp. Very disappointed and will never stay again. And the lady at the front desk was so bad, I am making a written complaint to the company and hotel management as well. It was certainly the low point of our otherwise great vacation.

Checked in pretty late 7 pm ish.. Traffick on 280 was terrible..that is a mess...but checked in and found our room. It was clean, smelled fresh. Water faucet in kitchen leaked a little but kitchenette was nice. Beds were ok.. I was hoping for better but could have been much worst. Hallways a little noisy at first but things settled down. The room was nice. Carpets were clean everything checked ok on my list. In the morning I was pleasently surprised that the location was very sweet..up in the mountains. The morning was cool and the cardinals were jumping from car to car..I didnt want to go home.. very nice property..I would have loved to stay another night but was in a hurry to get home to Florida after Hurricane Helene. We will try to swing back in here... maybe stay a few days.Whataburger is right there and a gas station..

I stayed at a different hotel different that usual when I traveled to AL recently. It is an older hotel but nicely maintained. Clean linens, clean bathroom, friendly staff. I like that room includes kitchenette area. I wasn't expecting the $75.00 refundable deposit required at check in (perhaps this was required because I booked through a hotel booking site & not directly with hotel). I disliked my room being located right outside the elevators. I could've requested a different room but opted not to. Also the hotel clerk informed me there was no complimentary breakfast served. I liked them having a "store" to purchase food & drink items. Hotel is centrally located to shopping places, restaurants, & other entertainment. Overall good stay, would likely recommend to others & stay again.
