The hotel was ok. Food was poor quality (both dinner and breakfast).

The bar and restaurant areas are very modern and pleasant. The food that I had was very nice. However, the hotel and room were OK but in need of some TLC.

The food was excellent. The room was very nice and comfortable. The curtains were difficult to close. Maybe the hotel needs to improve the curtain track.

We paid for an upgrade and should have been refunded. Room was clean, but the toilet screws had rusted and the floor was brown. Not a good look. The fire door was open and was so swollen it wasn't able to shut. The overhead light didn't work and the ceiling light shade was burnt. You couldn't No plug in the bathroom sink, the TV didn't work. The bedside light was switched on and off from a wall switch that I couldn't reach. There were only two plug sockets. I was unable to connect to the WiFi on my laptop and Kindle, only our phones. Each time we made a complaint they said they had noted it but there was no-one to do anything. We had to pay cash for breakfast. The information online is out of date. The menu was basic but the food was good. The serving staff were friendly and helpful. Glad it was only one night. The hotel is not a safe place to stay.

I think for the area and price this hotel is a reasonable choice. The guy checking us in did not speak very good English (nor Scots), so that was NOT very smooth. He tried to charge us although the room had been paid in full online when booked. It was also listed online as free breakfast when booked, but that wasn't listed on my receipt. We decided to skip paying extra for breakfast there and went into the village. We arrived in the dark and had to park down the road in public parking because their small lot was full. The room could have used a little spruce up but the bed was comfortable.
