Stayed 1 night

The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly. As 2 adults only we did have a meal which was ok however I felt the veggie option for main dishes was limited but a combo of kids menu & a side was ok. Our main issue with our over night stay was the noise. Our room was on the main road side, which cant be helped, however the double glazing did a decent job of keeping noise out. The issue was from internal noise, it wasn't the fault of other guests being loud or especially noisy, everyone was lovely, it was just that the walls were soooo thin - possibly plasterboard installed in the refurbishment? We could hear everything from, TVs, conversations in the next room, the fire door outside room constantly opening/closing as people passed by as well as every footstep in room above. This together with keeping windows closed for external noise didn't lead to a great night. The breakfast was ok but delivered to your room in a hamper with a choice of oats/ cereal/ pastry/ juice & a piece of fruit. We hadn't realised this was the case until we arrived and it would of been great to have the option of a cooked breakfast - even toast & coffee - eaten at a table rather than sitting on the bed. We would have been happy to pay extra if this had been an option. Overall our stay was ok but despite loving the atmosphere in bar, great staff and cleanliness of rooms we feel the combo of noise, limited veggie menu and breakfast set up means we would not stay again.

Very nice room, clean and great for our stay. Only comment is shower not easy to use without getting water everywhere and if you don’t want to wash your hair, and beyond their control but the road was noisy with Lorry’s - we had read this so knew to expect it . The touches for our puppy were lovely (bowls, poo bags, treats, a ball and bed were left out for us). We arrived really late but staff were lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was cute in the basket which was delivered at the time requested and enabled us to set off in the morning without needing to stop again for breakfast although I can recommend Mainsgill farm shop just a couple minutes along the road. Good tea and coffee facilities in the room with decaf tea and decaf coffee also offered. A lot of great space behind the building in a field for letting the puppy run around before getting back in the car. Would definitely stay again.

The staff were lovely, breakfast and dinner both amazing. Would stay again and recommend to families with loved ones going through basic training as it is close to the vimy barracks

I was only there overnight so didn't get a good look round but it seemed a really nice Hotel. My room was facing the road so there was some traffic noise in the morning but I still slept well.
