As soon as we walked in to the reception smiles and a warm welcome. Absolutely first class service and the food / drinks selection from evening meal to breakfast was absolute quality. Just cannot praise this place enough. Highly recommend

Great place to stay a short journey from Carlisle. Our second stay here. Room was fine, bed was comfy, shower was excellent and amenities like a Nespresso machine with pods were good touches. We also enjoyed a nice dinner in the pub.

Stayed here with a colleague on business. What a gem of a place this is. A menu that would not have been out of place in a 5 star restaurant! Prices were so reasonable. A breakfast of champions. A bedroom with modern en-suite bathroom. Staff that couldn’t be more helpful and great ales on tap! Will definitely be back.

Stayed here for business and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great location in the middle of the village, on site free parking. Nice welcome and taken to my room. Lovely clean room I would say recently refurbished and good facilities. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, wardrobe and storage space. A safe if you need it, a drink fridge and good team and coffee making facilities. Two slight improvements could be made. 1. Daily housekeeping would be nice. 2. Some decent cooling fans as it was stiflingly hot and sadly couldn’t sleep much. The restaurant food is delicious and extremely well presented, huge choice of drinks. Breakfast was cooked to order and again very tasty. The staff are helpful, polite and friendly. I will be booking here again. Thank you.

A diamond of a country pub with rooms in a quiet village location. On site parking. Lovey well appointed modern rooms, comfy bed, good amenities. Staff are friendly, the food is excellent with a great menu choice and variety of drinks. Well worth checking out to stay or even just for dining.

Great stay. Bedroom exactly as described. The room was very clean with no issues. Some of the areas away from the bedroom eg doorways, paint work needs attention. Didn’t like the plug in air freshener on the landing, the smell is too much. Breakfast was a little disappointing with only a very small menu. Would have liked some fruit, yogurt or pastries to be available too.

Staff were lovely. Very attentive. Room nicely decorated. Bed was extremely comfortable and clean. Take the hand sanitiser bottle away as the spout is very dirty. The smell of air freshener in the room and bleach in the bathroom is overwhelming. The bathroom didn’t have a nice smell once the bleach smell wore off. Not a toilet smell but something else. I even felt it was coming into the room by morning. Hopefully it was just this room and you can get to the bottom of it. I enjoyed my evening meal. The restaurant is nicely decorated

The room was lovely and clean. Nice touch to have a coffee machine with pods. Still and sparkling water in the mini fridge. And a couple of packets of biscuit. The food in the evening was really good and the breakfast was amazing.

Warm welcome from the member of staff on duty, good-sized room with very comfy bed and an excellent en suite bathroom. Own n’espresso coffee machine provided, plus complimentary bottled water and fresh milk for hot drinks. Evening meal in the pub below was very tasty and the scrambled eggs I had at breakfast were possibly the best I’ve ever tasted. The only downside was the lack of heating in my room until 6pm on a day when the outside temp was below freezing and I had checked in at about 4.30pm (ie after dark). Other than that, a good find and happy to recommend.

The hotel was lovely and very clean. We had a great stay nothing was any problem to the chef as we are vegetarian and vegan. They accommodated both of us for breakfast and dinner. We would definitely stay again and recommend. The staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel is very close to M6 for heading north or south.

An oasis when walking the Hadrian way. Rather over-priced but the standard of food and comfort make it palatable. What was really noticeable was the friendliness of the staff. From the girls who served us dinner to the lady on breakfast, they had a smile on their face and that makes all the difference.

I stayed here on my way back from Scotland and so glad I did nice quiet location great service and my room was very clean and comfortable. I ate in the restaurants and the food and break was brilliant. Highly recommend this place and will definitely stop here again.

Great place to stay a short journey from Carlisle. Our second stay here. Room was fine, bed was comfy, shower was excellent and amenities like a Nespresso machine with pods were good touches. We also enjoyed a nice dinner in the pub.

Stayed here for business and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great location in the middle of the village, on site free parking. Nice welcome and taken to my room. Lovely clean room I would say recently refurbished and good facilities. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, wardrobe and storage space. A safe if you need it, a drink fridge and good team and coffee making facilities. Two slight improvements could be made. 1. Daily housekeeping would be nice. 2. Some decent cooling fans as it was stiflingly hot and sadly couldn’t sleep much. The restaurant food is delicious and extremely well presented, huge choice of drinks. Great stay. Bedroom exactly as described. The room was very clean with no issues. Some of the areas away from the bedroom eg doorways, paint work needs attention. Didn’t like the plug in air freshener on the landing, the smell is too much. Breakfast was a little disappointing with only a very small menu. Would have liked some fruit, yogurt or pastries to be available too.

Could not imagine a more wonderful stay. Hiking Hadrian’s wall and the Sally was a most wonderful stay. The food was incredible with great vegetarian and gluten free options. The rooms were large and comfortable with very comfortable beds, great water pressure, and all spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, all in a lovely little parish. I highly recommend staying at the Sally.

The room was lovely and clean. Nice touch to have a coffee machine with pods. Still and sparkling water in the mini fridge. And a couple of packets of biscuit. The food in the evening was really good and the breakfast was amazing.

As soon as we walked in to the reception smiles and a warm welcome. Absolutely first class service and the food / drinks selection from evening meal to breakfast was absolute quality. Just cannot praise this place enough. Highly recommend

Stayed here with a colleague on business. What a gem of a place this is. A menu that would not have been out of place in a 5 star restaurant! Prices were so reasonable. A breakfast of champions. A bedroom with modern en-suite bathroom. Staff that couldn’t be more helpful and great ales on tap! Will definitely be back.

a very friendly pub, accommodation was very clean, we had a one night stopover, staff were very friendly and professional, evening meal was great so was the breakfast. plenty of free parking and location for the motorway is minutes away.
