The hotel is really close to the train station, about 2 minute walking but as every train station everywhere, sometimes you encounter strange individuals. There is a supermarket very close to the hotel where you can buy food or any other stuff that you might need which is convenient. Also, within walking distance, you have many restaurants. We also ate at the restaurant at the hotel and the food was good and the service great. We asked them to change our pillows as they are quite high and hard and they were able to help us with this request the following day. We rented some bicycles through them and biked to the windmills. Very easy to get there and it was a fun ride. We found that the hotel was great and the service was great too.

Das Hotel war insgesamt sehr nett, die Lage war ziemlich toll, nur etwa 10 Minuten zum Amsterdamer Hauptbahnhof. Auch die Umgebung an sich war schön, leider war unser Zimmer nicht sehr sauber, es waren Haare und viele Krümel da, außerdem war der Abfluss verstopft. Jedes Zimmer hat eine eigene Nespresso maschine, es hat mir sehr gut gefallen und die Einrichtung sieht schick aus. Dazu kommen, dass die Hotelbar sehr nett ist, die Mitarbeitenden auch.

Hôtel très agréable et facile d’accès. Le parking extérieur manque un peu de sécurité mais reste très abordable comparé aux tarifs d’Amsterdam centre, donc ça fait le job. Niveau propreté, rien à redire, chambre impeccable et lit très confortable, on a vraiment bien dormi et profité de notre séjour. Petit bémol : on a constaté une augmentation des tarifs récemment pour le parking, ce qui est un peu décevant. Et surtout, grosse déception à notre arrivée : après avoir payé via Hotels.com, l’établissement nous a prélevé 100 € supplémentaires sans explication. Impossible d’avoir une réponse de leur part malgré plusieurs relances… Vraiment dommage car à part ça, le séjour était très bien et le prix de la chambre (sans ce supplément inexpliqué) reste correct pour Amsterdam.

Well equipped room, comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Good choice of food for breakfast. Great that we could hire bikes from the hotel. Easy to get to and from the train station and didn't take long to get into Amsterdam. Zaandam restaurants were nice but the walk there in the evening we felt uncomfortable with the many youths hanging about.

Used as base for Amsterdam 4 day trip. Hotel very good, clean, comfortable and quiet. Train station 3 minute walk away takes you into central Amsterdam. We had dinner in hotel once and it was great. Breakfast was usual cooked and cold offerings but always good.

The hotel exterior is beautiful in the style of Zaandam. The room was nice and spacious, with a TV, Espresso machine, mini fridge and wardrobe space. There is a free storage space for luggage if you have a late check-in or early checkout, which is really helpful. The room and bathroom however could do with some cleaning and updating. The room had cobwebs on the wall and the bathroom had black mould in the shower. We only got 3 coffee pods each day, despite being 2 people, which meant we couldn't enjoy a second cup of coffee.

My bathroom had mold. I ordered room service on the first day there, and no one collected the food trays or discarded food from my room for the 2 days i was there. They serviced the room and left the trays there. AWFUL.

The room was not clean. There were some crumbs on the floor. Outreach garbage wasn’t emptied for 2 days which is not good with food waste in there. The air conditioner didn’t work. The bed is uncomfortable and the pillows were so small even when you doubled it over they were terrible. There were noisy people outside throughout the night and early mornings. I would not stay in this hotel again. I stayed because of the good reviews but uncertain where those came from.

The rooms were very clean and modern. Air conditioning works perfectly, we preferred to keep it off however as we don’t like to with a breeze. The staff were really friendly and the housekeeping was a very nice touch. €100 deposit required on check-in by card (doesn’t matter if it’s credit or debit) and was returned to us 5 hours after check out - I used revolut for reference. Right next to to train station and AH supermarket and the local area is beautiful and worth a visit. Would definitely consider staying here while visiting Amsterdam - trains are frequent and only takes 15 minutes into centraal, with the last return being at 1am. Would recommend and would visit again

The best part about this hotel is the shower water pressure and it’s proximity to the train station . This hotel has loads of potential but the cleaning was very bad - mould inside the shower area, only one small bottle of shampoo and soap for two guests, no kettle in room, etc …the surrounding hotel was also littered with cigarettes butt leaving a bad impression to the tourists.

Rooms were dated, with stained carpets and sofa. No water in the rooms, lomited to one hand towel and one small bath towel per person. No beds made the three nights we stayed nor room cleaned. Not great for a junior suite. The only saving grace for thia hitel was the staff we're so friendly and attentive.

there were stains on our bed sheets and the headboard, there was mold in all corners of the shower and when we arrived we couldn’t find the remote for the tv. it was under the bed along with rubbish!! the hotel itself was nice but our room was not

Nice hotel less than 5 mins walk to a well connected station and regular trains to central Amsterdam. Modern well maintained. Room was quiet and comfortable I slept very well The front desk team were welcoming and helpful. The lower cost more than made up for the slight inconvenience of the journey to the city

Room temperature is “centrally managed”, which means that you can’t up the heat. It was bloody cold in the room and not at all comfortable. The shower was the only source of heat, but the main shower head could use replacement. The room itself was nice and had all the right amenities but again, cold.

We loved Zaan! The building itself is lovely inside and out, and it's literally across the road from Zaandam station which takes you to Amsterdam central, Zanvoort beach and other locations. The staff were all lovely and accommodating, and always willing to help, and the room was lovely. Very clean, the only thing i noticed was a slight build of mould around the outline of the shower floor and. few things under the bed, but other than that i was very happy with the general cleanliness. The bed was too firm for me and the pillows too thick, so after the first night I requested another duvet to sleep on to soften the bed and a thinner pillow, both of which were brought to the room for me by a member of staff. We didn't get a chance to eat at the hotel as we wanted to explore food places around central, but the menu did look very good and varied. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is little bit tricky to valuate, mainly nothing wrong with it but still didn’t like it so much. But value for the price is good I would say. Room was spacious and bed was big but room was quite empty. We had tree identical rooms, my room had very good a/c and it was operated from the room but in other rooms that was not the case. Bathroom was nice. Some things in room are pretty high, like hooks and sink - not a problem though if you are not very short :) Restaurant had nice lunch and dinner but I didn’t like breakfast which we luckily had only one morning. Zaandam shopping street and train station are basically right next to hotel so that is handy and we had breakfast in cafe nearby ( Lagom which I recommed). Easy train ride to Amsterdam and with daily ticket you can go back and forth as many times as you want. There is a empty fridge in the room and grocery store right next to hotel. Parking was really handy and not too expensive. Small park in front off the hotel seemed to collect some weird people and Zaandam feels like suburb for Amsterdam but traveling with car I would definately choose this over Amsterdam. And this is great location to do daily trips to see Netherlands.

Very clean and modern hotel. Modern amenities such as light switch and dimmer next to bed were very nice. Internet went down twice during my one week stay. Took about an hour for the staff to fix each time. Very close to the train station. Restaurant was excellent.

Loved the location. Close to the station and close to everything. The lounge area was nice. The beds were horrible. Mattress toppers laid on a soft base, the mattress either went off the side or sunk to the middle. It was too warm the entire time, but heating was centrally controlled. Tried sleeping with the window open to be greeted by the building site right behind at 6:30am. Went home shattered.

The hotel staff are great but the room I was given (a double deluxe) did not live up to my expectations. I was in a room on the 5th floor in the annex building, so one of the furthest rooms from reception. While it was modern, there was only one velux window pointing up to the sky (so zero view apart from the overcast skies) and the room felt like one big closet. There is a gap at the bottom of the door which means the room gets flooded with the light from the corridor at night. Hangers in the wardrobe are those awful anti-theft ones. And the rainfall shower pressure was very poor, although the handheld shower was nice. There is no water provided for guests in the room and there is just one tiny miniature bottle of body wash and hair conditioner in the bathroom. Luckily, there is an Albert Heijn supermarket opposite the hotel where you can buy toiletries. I did appreciate the location of the hotel (great bus and train connections) and I did like the restaurant (a great kipschnitzel!). Breakfast was slightly spoiled by the hard boiled eggs which just fell apart when I tried to shell them, and with only two coffee machines, there can be a big queue for your daily fix of caffeine in the morning.

Front desk staff Jale is not helpful and hustling, on July 1 I informed her the liking pipe under sink and stated the DND light was on due to the forgetting, I wanted to authorize hotel maintenance staff to enter my room in writing. She refused. I told her be flexible them I went up my room to turn off D ND light which made me miss the train and late for my activity. The worst part of her is being sarcastic, on my way to exit of the hotel, she said “good morning” to me behind my back, there were no other customers at front desk at that moment. On July 2nd, the pipe liking again, the DND light was on too, I informed here about the issues and told her that “wait until I get back, don’t let people get into my room” she is hypocritical, she did the opposite way as she said on July 1st. As I came back from my tour, I told front desk staff to sent maintenance to my room. I was furious, for the two different results for the same situation.

The Zaan Hotel is very close to the train station, stores and restaurants. It's clean and quiet. Above all, every member of the staff we dealt with was pleasant and efficient.When I planned our trip, I thought this hotel would be a perfect fit. It turned out to be exactly that.

While the location of this hotel is super convenient next to zaandam station, the staff is very rude and needs a few classes on good customer service. A young lady by the name of Lois refused to serve hot chocolate because she had already turned off the machine at the bar, 20 minutes before closing at 11:20. She had a very dirty attitude and refused service or any other alteratives; not offering anything else, while she chatted away with her friend at the bar. I like the convinence of the hotel but some of the staff members left a bitter taste

Vid incheckning börjar det med att vi inte får checka in på båda rummen trotts att dom som står på rummen är på plats. Men tydligen ska alla i rummen checkas in med legitimation. Svårt när vi alla inte var där. Sen var det en deposition på 100 euro per rum, som inte hade kommunicerats ut innan. Så var beredd på att ligga ute med 1000 kr ungefär. Sen sa hon som checkade in oss att vi hade frukost. Men när vi kom ner till frukosten hade vi inte det utan skulle isåfall betala 18.50 euro per person.. Rummen var okej, var en del smuts kvar i badrummet.

This is our 3rd time staying at this hotel as it is conveniently located. Easy access to and from the airport, and also to Amsterdam Centraal. The area of Zaandam is beautiful and quiet. Lots of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafés nearby. The staff is pleasant and friendly.

Wonderful hotel. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Right beside train station, walking distance to Zaandam town and short train ride to downtown Amsterdam, airport or anywhere else. If you want a getaway in Amsterdam this is the place to stay. If you arrive by plane go to the lower floor for train station, takes you right to the hotel. So convenient!

Fantastic hotel with great breakfast and a great bar and evening snacks and meals, the location is fantastic for travel to amsterdam as it is right by the station and zaandam is also a great place. My only complaint is the staff were very stern and very slow with check in, also we came home late after a long day in amsterdam and wanted a shower before bed only to find the hotel cleaning staff had made up the bed and cleaned the bathroom but had taken all our towels and not replaced them so we had none in the room at all so had to go down and ask for more which took ages it was also dissapointing after a long day of walking and exploring.

Zaan Hotel was just steps away from the Zaandam rail stop. Restaurant on site was excellent and breakfast had good offerings. Chic and lovelty hotel near the canal with a shopping strip with anything you need.
