Our experience at Onyx Apartment was great through entire of our stay. The staff were always there to help and concierge helped us to book few of out of town trips which created lots of memory for us. Hotel has attached Asian cuisine restaurant and a great coffee shop and cafe which has great breakfast in the morning and coffee at any time. The location of the hotel is very close to most of the attraction so we could walk or take an Uber to every where that we wanted to go . The best part of the hotel is it's fast Internet and it doesn't impact with Load Shedding (Electricity Cut) in Cape Town. So it's all good!

Great large suite, awesome balcony and very clean but the wifi, TV and telephone didn’t work. Getting service on our cell phones was difficult so we ended up feeling unsafe without the ability to contact anyone if there was an emergency. We had to do everything regarding our trip (like confirming reservations, calling Ubers, etc.) from outside the hotel. When we complained about the Wi-Fi, we were offered another room where the Wi-Fi and phone also weren’t working, then gaslit for days about “IT coming to fix it” They never came. Housekeeping and the hotel staff will knock barely audibly, then walk right in without waiting for an answer. Probably wouldn’t stay here again for the price.

We as a couple had 6 nights in the apartment. It had good size and we slept well. Hotel staff service was good (on average). We used the gym. It was small but ok. Breakfast option is recommendable, cheap and good service. But what we really liked was the restaurant on the premises; lovely food and service. We think it was all reasonably priced and will recommend the hotel.

The 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for sharing with our daughter age 22. It gave us our own space & together sitting areas. Staff very friendly, courteous & pleasant. No complaints whatsoever. The only thing we didn’t like was losing the sun at the outside pool area @12.45pm. The height of the building & the location of the pool was the reason., otherwise we really enjoyed our stay . Thankyou.

what an amazing deal the price for this apartment type room was the same for 5 nights as it would be for one of the fancy hotels in town for 2 nights When i arrived they had a complementary bottle of wine The maid did my dishes every day and left me coffee every day Sure not a huge pool or gym as you would find in the big hotels but good enough Food at both restaurants was superb also So convinent right across the street from the convention center and the hop on hop off stop

ONYX is located in the CBD with good proximity to restaurants and attractions. Check in was easy and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed and good city/mountain view. We found that having a car was a benefit as most of the shopping and restaurants we wanted were at least 1km away. The property is well maintained and the gym, pool and lounge on the 4th floor seem to be well kept, but we didn't use these in the limited time we had. We did use the spa which is run by a 3rd party, but the treatments were a bit lackluster. The breakfast at MRKT was excellent, but you can't charge these to your room unless you put credit on your account. Parking is free, secure and easily accessible. Overall, this was a lovely spot for a couple of nights and I would highly recommend.

The hotel is in an area downtown that is walkable to most places and about a 15-20 min walk to the waterfront. It was right next to the conference centre. There is free parking for hotel guests as well which was very handy as we rented a car for our trip.

Delightful hotel. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, room is spotlessly clean and show is divine. You can just stand in there all day 😂. There is a restaurant at the hotel, which by definition is Asian - does make some other foods as well. Breakfast was great small buffet plus option to order one tailored hot meal off the menu, ranging from wraps, to toasties to eggs. The room was comfortable, aircon worked brilliantly (which is always key for me) and the bed was very comfy (another important factor for me). Overall no complaints.

Alles in allem war es eine sehr gute Unterkunft. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich. Die Handtücher haben leider nicht frisch, sondern leicht nach Fett gerochen, weshalb es im Punkt Sauberkeit einen Abzug gibt. Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs, weshalb die Umgebung nicht die volle Punktzahl hält, aber das haben wir gewusst. Für einen Stadtaufenthalt ist das Hotel absolut zu empfehlen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Rooms are large and nicely decorated perfect for a family stay. Central area, good housekeeping and friendly staff. I liked that bottled water was replenished daily. Kitchen missing napkins & paper towels. Bathroom towels nice but missing wash cloths. Reason for 4 star rating. We would definitely return!

Overall, I truly enjoyed my time at this property. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. They always made me feel welcomed and were very helpful. The room was phenomenal too - especially my view of table mountain. This place was well worth the money!

I caught staff removing my luggage from the room around 15 minutes past 12 noon, claiming they were permitted to do so as the room was booked and check out was 11am. Rather than contacting me or waiting for me - they resolved to a practice that is criminal in the industry. Highly recommend you try another location to stay at

I saw the positive reviews which is why I booked this hotel. However, I was disappointed right at check in. There are two of us and I requested for 2 room cards for convenience reasons, I was told by the check in staff that there is a deposit for 2nd hotel card. This is the first time I was asked for such deposit. I requested for a disposible razor and the reception gave me a blank look as if it is a strange request and told me they do not have it. I will not recomend to stay here. I think even Ibis has better service and policies.

Staff were great! Hotel location was great! There was a mixup on check-in where the Hotel had not been notified that I had upgraded my room after making the initial booking. Mpumbi and Andre worked to resolve it. The 1-bedroom deluxe (with Balcony) was spacious. The included breakfast option was good as well, but the Hotel's best asset is their staff.

We stayed at the Onyx for 6 days and enjoyed it very much. Staff were very helpful and housekeeping were very good. It is in a good location, felt quite safe and the Concierge was very helpful in organising additional tours. Close to Big Red Bus stop, which allowed us to take in Cape Town. Also visited V and A wharf, walked a few times (took about 20 minutes) and took ubers of a night. Would highly recommend. Only downside was breakfast, seems a seperate business and staff were very pushy on being tipped each morning which is quite unusual for a hotel including breakfast, orders were mixed up and slow.

Perfect location to city centre and tourist sites as well as easy distance from waterfront. Staff are totally amazing, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Very accommodating and helpful. Definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here next time I am in Cape Town. Thank you to all the staff.

The coffee shop downstairs is great- MRKT. The hotel is super clean. The studio we had was massive and super clean and comfortable for 2 people. The pool area is a bit small, but it is nice, but by the afternoon the sun goes. The hotel is modern. I would definitely stay here again. Uber comes very quick. Use the main roads when walking in the day, we walked to the waterfront in the day time. Never walk at night. The staff are so helpful.

The property and staff were great - so helpful but like a lot of places you couldn’t walk at night. It is close to the v&a waterfront and the city bus stops right around the corner - stop 3 on red route. Ubers are reasonable so no problem getting around

I had a great time staying in the Onyx - the room was lovely, staff were helpful and polite, and the location was great. I was attending a conference at the CTICC and the hotel was very convenient both for this, and for getting around Cape Town for relaxation. I'd definitely stay here again if I came back!

We stayed at the Onyx for 6 days and enjoyed it very much. Staff were very helpful and housekeeping were very good. We enjoyed our stay at The Onyx. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We slept well in the comfortable king size bed. We appreciated the large capacity refrigerator, dishes and utensils in the kitchenette. We could look out the window and see Table Mountain and the activities below. There are two restaurants on site. The MRK was our breakfast spot. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The young people in this restaurant made us feel so welcomed. Each morning we’d dance along with our hosts to our table. We enjoyed the Yu Restaurant for dinner. The food was Asian inspired and tasty. The hotel is located in the Central Business District, just a short taxi ride to Victoria & Albert Waterfront. Staff at the reception desk hailed cabs for us so it was convenient.
