A very enjoyable stay. The bar area was very relaxed and the staff were very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was super hot (clear warning signs that need to be followed). Extra charge for the pool which was the only disappointment as the cost meant we didn’t use it. Bar prices were reasonable for a hotel and the food was good in the restaurant. All in all a good stay

Weekend stay whilst attending a wedding, our garden view suite was very good with lots of space. Unfortunately the pool heating was not working so the pool was cold and the pool facilities really could do with updating.

The car park is very tight with its spaces as was quite full when I arrived at 2045. I then went to reception to check in and was greeted with a sign to call the night manager. I had to ask about location of breakfast and swimming pool as wasn’t forthcoming. Room was large, great bathroom and comfy bed however no air conditioning which it’s pretty hot right now. The swimming pool facilities were handy however greeted by a lot of regular members using it and it’s quite small so not a lot of space. Breakfast was a variety and check out was easy. There could be some strong tweaks for the customer experience and the hotel should be renovated as some good opportunities to modernise it.

On the whole ‘Good’ but let down by the limited leisure facilities. The changing rooms are going through a refurbishment, with the gents locker room handed over to the ladies while theirs is being worked on. Then they’ll start on the guys changing room, meaning that male users have no changing facilities to speak of (a cubicle has been erected in the gym), lockers, or most importantly, the ability to shower after using the facilities. This is not detailed anywhere until you get to the gym, and talking to the staff likely to take until the end of February 24 to complete.

The staff were super friendly and professional, really liked that. Room was smart, comfortable and really quiet! Gym and pool was a bonus, gym was tiny but it did the job. Would be more than happy to stay there again!!

The staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel is lovely with beautiful grounds and great amenities. They have a jacuzzi, pool and sauna, which we took full advantage of. The superior twin room was spacious clean and tidy. The breakfast options were good. I was particularly impressed by the availability of freshly baked bread.

Room was fine, well heated and clean. Leisure area was dirty, especially around the edges of the pool area and sauna - I did mention this to reception in the morning and they did have someone out there cleaning later that evening when I visited the sauna. Had the pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes for dinner one night, asked for the black pudding to be changed out for some extra potato but what came out was 2 and a half new potatoes, I asked the waiter and he said that is extra, so I dread to think how small the portion usually is. Pork belly was chewy and overall the meal was unsatisfying, I was still hungry after. About half the members of staff I encountered during my 4 day stay were pleasant, the other half didn't seem to want to be there. Hospitality isn't an easy industry but I've never experienced service this poor by that many members of staff in one place. In all my years of using Expedia, I've not stayed at a place this poor and felt so mislead from what was advertised. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Basic room, bed was uncomfortable. Floor was dirty, other occupants hairs all over the floor. Big black hairs in shower from other people. Downstairs looks really nice a shame the rest of the hotel doesn't match that.

The pool was freezing, and the room was ok, but there was dust by the window in the bathroom, also the sink and shower were dirty and sealant. I will not stay there again. disappointed.

We stayed here to attend a wedding at Aston Marina which is 5 mins away in a taxi. Beautiful and spacious room (room no.1), very clean, luxurious toiletries, super comfortable bed and large bathroom. Staff are very professional and friendly. The breakfast is amazing. Highly recommended.

Since I was travelling alone, I booked a 'cosy double room', which is exactly what it says on the tin: a small room with a bed that is somewhere between a single and a double. Good price is what attracted us to stay here, however the bar is very expensive and the rooms could do with some refurbishment. Our mattress was covered in urine stains and the floor was very creaky in the room, the mattress incredibly soft and uncomfortable but I appreciate this is down to personal preference. The staff were polite and there is the option for one free drink rather than having your room cleaned. Not close to the town but Uber is an option if you want to have some drinks in Stone.

1 night stay - weather very hot but little ventilation, not any fault of anyone. But, mattress felt 'curved', and the water from the cold tap was as hot as the water from the hot tap despite letting it run for a considerable time. Shower was scalding hot - they know, there are signs! Breakfast was hot and cooked well and staff at breakfast were polite and attentive.

Good overnight stay, shame an external door was left unbolted and was banging in the wind all night. Reception un manned when I arrived so had to hunt for someone to check me in. Good food, and bar service excellent

Plenty of safe free parking. Very good receptionist to check in. Very clean, well appointed room with very comfortable bed. Good breakfast, cooked to order. This is a family run hotel and they all try very hard to provide excellent service.
Plenty of safe free parking. Very good receptionist to check in. Very clean, well appointed room with very comfortable bed. Good breakfast, cooked to order. This is a family run hotel and they all try very hard to provide excellent service.

Good price is what attracted us to stay here, however the bar is very expensive and the rooms could do with some refurbishment. Our mattress was covered in urine stains and the floor was very creaky in the room, the mattress incredibly soft and uncomfortable but I appreciate this is down to personal preference. The staff were polite and there is the option for one free drink rather than having your room cleaned. Not close to the town but Uber is an option if you want to have some drinks in Stone.

We stayed here to attend a wedding at Aston Marina which is 5 mins away in a taxi. Beautiful and spacious room (room no.1), very clean, luxurious toiletries, super comfortable bed and large bathroom. Staff are very professional and friendly. The breakfast is amazing. Highly recommended.

Generally everything was fine for my needs, a quick overnight stay. I did feel that the decor was a bit dated and could do with a refresh in places. We had a lovely 2 night stay at Stone House Hotel in one of the garden rooms. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was modern, clean, and spacious, with a lovely big bath and nice toiletries to use (bath/shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, hand wash). Not necessarily negatives, but things to consider: Being in a garden room, we had patio doors out. It was lovely, however meant we didn't have a window to open when it was warm, and we didn't want to leave a door open overnight! Also, to access these rooms you had to go up stairs, and then back down, despite them being on the ground floor. I don't think there was any other access to them. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. We had dinner in the Indian restaurant one night, which was also very nice. Stone is a 20 minute walk away, and has some nice places to eat and walks along the canal. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Overall a good stay, with friendly staff and good choice of food from onsite restaurants and room service. Very good value for money. However, I suggest ear plugs as the noise from neighbouring bathrooms woke me. Also take chargers as the rooms do not have usb plug points.

I always stay at the Stonehouse when in the area as its a great hotel. It also is one of the very few hotels I look forward to dining in, as it has a SUPERB Curry restaurant.

Room was fine, well heated and clean. Leisure area was dirty, especially around the edges of the pool area and sauna - I did mention this to reception in the morning and they did have someone out there cleaning later that evening when I visited the sauna. Had the pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes for dinner one night, asked for the black pudding to be changed out for some extra potato but what came out was 2 and a half new potatoes, I asked the waiter and he said that is extra, so I dread to think how small the portion usually is. Pork belly was chewy and overall the meal was unsatisfying, I was still hungry after. About half the members of staff I encountered during my 4 day stay were pleasant, the other half didn't seem to want to be there. Hospitality isn't an easy industry but I've never experienced service this poor by that many members of staff in one place. In all my years of using Expedia, I've not stayed at a place this poor and felt so mislead from what was advertised. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The service from the restaurant staff is impeccable. They are trained to a very high standard and we appreciate that attention to detail. We ordered from the Indian food menu and it was delicious with wine recommended by the server. Bed very comfortable, good nights sleep. Breakfeast was good, bar food in evening was a little disappointing (would have given 5* if not for this), didnt try the main restaurant so can't comment. Service was friendly and welcoming. Lovely beer garden.
