They closed small bar at 9.30pm! There was a wedding on in the main bar,we had to have an early night!Food was excellent staff were lovely.

3 Pleasant nights the evening meals were very good did not have breakfast as i was working and dose not start until 7.15 am. Easy free parking the WIFI is a bit in and out but there is a phone signal. Comfortable room could have done with a map to find it. Lovely location and a stunning building. I would stay here again.

Amazing old building with fantastic grounds. However, very poor phone signal and terrible Wi-Fi connection made getting online almost impossible, and this was part of a business trip so not ideal. They had a wedding going on but this did not cause any issues, and looked like a great venue for events like that.

Under normal circumstances I’m sure it would have been a lovely stay, however due to the ongoing tarmacking of the car park, of which I wasn’t made aware, my stay was negatively impacted. I arrived and wasn’t aware of where I should park, so I had to guess. The temporary signs were not clear and then I had to walk a distance to the reception, which had a ‘no entry’ sign but no instruction as to an alternative entrance. The room itself was pleasant, however, it happened to be located right by the aforementioned car park, and so I was woken at 7.30am by loud machinery. I understand that this work has to be completed, but a little heads up would have been nice.

the car park was being relaid/tarmac so had to park further away only downside. the room was clean and had recently been refurbished, had a good nights sleep bed fine.we stayed bed and breakfast, large buffet breakfast very good value and tasty. they only had bar meals in the evening and selection limited. have been here a few times and would visit again, staff very helpful

This is a lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Have eaten here before and food lovely, but the restaurant is not open so it’s served in which ever bar is open. Not quite the same and still restaurant prices. All said it’s nice enough to go back.

Absolutely lovely hidden gem. True it is a little bit tired in places but it was a wonderful place to stay and incredible value for money. It was a last minute booking. The room was fine, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was small but modern. The hairdryer brilliant. Everything necessary was available. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pictures, books and history of the place were interesting. The setting and grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was amazing. Would thoroughly recommend. The only criticism was that the wifi was weak and intermittent.

Staff were pleasant and friendly. Booked the standard room which was comfortable and clean. Nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. A few minor issues including some mould around the shower and sink plug hole and there was not have much of a view.

I was told my room was at the top of the stairs on the left. Incorrect. Had a terrible job finding it. There was music playing all night which I discovered was on in the bar and had not been turned off. The water in the cold tap was warm. The hot tap moved so went all over the back of the sink. There was no notification of the WiFi code in the room nor were there numbers on the phone to call reception about the music. I was told it would not have been turned off because the room was locked. I had a terrible sleep. The stair case needs hoovering. The carpet in my room was threadbare. The lady at breakfast was very nice and the lady at reception when I left was pretty shocked by my stay and said I had not been directed the right way to the room. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It could be AMAZING but needs a huge amount of investment. At the end of the day I needed a good sleep and I didn’t get it. Complete rip off.

Oh dear. If you pay a reduced price it is still £71 and they put you in the rooms that are not done up and boy do you wish you weren’t in them. I was in room 47 which ought to be a store room.first it smelled.bad smell. Fusty damp aroma all over actually but particularly bad in room as window wouldn’t open and it’s so small and hot. The toilet hadn’t been cleaned and I couldn’t fit through the gap in the shower cubicle to get in it. The staff are great and did get things put right as much as they can and I know they’re not for profit and it’s such an old building it’s going to cost an awful lot to put these rooms right. In the meantime I’m not sure I would put guests in them at all,they are not fit in my opinion. Next to public toilet, noisy until 3am and then the cleaners started rattling around in their cupboard opposite at 6am so no I didnot enjoy my stay. My friend was in a similar room next floor up and was quiet but in same bad way smell wise.

This is an Historic Building and the staff make every effort to provide a modern efficient and welcoming hotel. Booking and payment simple. Reception excellent. Room and public facilities were spotlessly clean. Room comfortable and warm. Modern bathroom/Shower Cubicle perfect, hot water almost instanly available. Bed, not king size but slept well so no complaint. Would love to have tried all the breakfast menu but the lovely porridge was more than enough.After a day out returned for afternoon tea and had to request a doggy bag for the cakes. If it was a new build hotel some would complain about no WiFi but in a building with 4ft thick walls the benefit of which was peace and quiet so that's Okay. Will try and stay again.

Lovely historic hotel set in peaceful surroundings. We loved the gardens and all the old trees. Bar was very comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was excellent. We had dinner in the hotel which was of good quality and ample quantity at reasonable price. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. look forward to visiting again.

There was a wedding on so noone was at reception for about 10 minutes. My room had water damage on the ceiling. My hairdryer didn't work. The hotel was loud until quite late because of the wedding. My room was near the breakfast room and the staff were very loud in the morning from 7am! But the hotel is so unique and so special that I can forgive all of that. It has such history and integrity. It's like staying in a museum of socialism. I will stay here again!

Fabulous architecture and the bedroom was very comfortable with a great view. The bathroom was recently renovated. Good breakfast in the morning. Some areas inside the building are looking in need of some work, but otherwise a very nice stay.

The room was very dated and in need of decoration. It didn't feel clean. The bed was two singles pushed together and the mattresses were VERY uncomfortable, we had to sleep on the quilt. The hotel was shabby although in very nice grounds. A ripped towel was given us!!! Would never stay again.

I had some issues with the room type when booking via hotels.com, and staff advised they always have the same issue (junior suite is a premium room at venue). Room was lovely, attic room 53. Although steps are very narrow, and wooden beams low. It has obviously been refreshed recently and was very comfortable and very stylish. Tv was tiny, and needs to be much bigger as it was difficult to see from the bed. (27" at a guess). Wifi is very weak and so is mobile signal strength. Could easily and cheaply be resolved. Tv in room was tiny and a long way from the bed, needs to be bigger.

First night stay was in a newly renovated top floor, beautifully restored and stunning bathroom. Unfortunately the bed was very squeaky with the slightest turn whilst sleeping. Second night we moved to a pre renovated room, very dated with tatty wallpaper. We understand the whole place is getting done up and modernised but with this in mind, a cheaper rate for the less glamorous room would have been greatly accepted. Overall, the staff had been more than helpful, very friendly and accommodating!

Likes - easy check in, pleasant grounds, room was clean. Dislikes - all facilities were well worn, in poor decorative order and decades out of date. Strong damp smell in corridor. Noise from the courtyard outside the bar until midnight for all 3 nights.

Property is extremely dated, which is to be expected given the history of the building, but the room was equally dated with poor/old amenities and needs a lot of renovation and improvement. Eg. The small TV did not work, lack of wall plugs, window was stuck etc. Parking, breakfast and the gardens are all great. The shower was the best part of the room. Would probably visit again for a 1 night stay for the price I paid.

I went to Wortley Hall for peace and quiet for work and I got it. Room 34 (when you find it 😉) is a lovely large room with a great view and mostly quiet (dependent on your neighbours!). Breakfast lovely and ample, lovely service. Wifi pretty good.

I and the other 4 visitors all loved the place. It had a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff were so accommodating welcoming and friendly, they even looked as if they enjoyed their jobs. Will definitely book on next visit to Sheffield. The breakfast was quality as well. Thanks everyone involved.

There was a wedding on so noone was at reception for about 10 minutes. My room had water damage on the ceiling. My hairdryer didn't work. The hotel was loud until quite late because of the wedding. My room was near the breakfast room and the staff were very loud in the morning from 7am! But the hotel is so unique and so special that I can forgive all of that. It has such history and integrity. It's like staying in a museum of socialism. I will stay here again!

Fantastic grounds, friendly and accommodating staff. Bedrooms can be hit and miss although on the whole they are perfectly adequate, more importantly quiet. Wi-Fi reception can be hit and miss. The dining menu is very limited and uninspiring and does not change from week to week. Perhaps the summer menu will be exciting. Breakfast is perfectly adequate. It’s good to know non dairy alternatives are available. I have been staying there overnight for work, for 1 or 2 nights it’s good value for money

Having booked our rooms, we couldnt believe the price they were, especially for a Friday night. We had a warm welcome and the staff were very friendly, enjoyed our evening meal. After a long drive, my room was very comfortable, clean and i had a great night's sleep. The evening meal was well presented and tasted great too! The waiter looking after us was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered great recommendations. In the morning the stsff were equally friendly and helpful. All in all a great stay, thank you

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is set in a beautiful location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so we were offered a complimentary drink in the bar while we waited (only 10 minutes). The bar area could have been a little cleaner - our table was quite dirty and the glasses had marks/smudges on them. We found the choice of background music rather out of place too. The room was in the attic and we bumped our heads a couple of times on the low beams. We were a little disappointed with the hot drinks tray in the bedroom. Although we had a coffee machine, we'd only been left two decaf Americano pods and one cappuccino - which only expressed warm milk when used.. A small selection of herbal teas and coffee pods would have been great. Breakfast was very nice. We had muesli, cooked breakfast and some pastries. Although there was a fruit platter, some whole bananas, berries or apples would have been good. I've highlighted a few issues here, but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Beautiful old Manor house. We were not allocated the room we booked and paid for online, bearing in mind the cost too. The receptionist blamed the Hotels.com website for their own obvious administrative error and we were clearly lied too about room availability. Our room was given to a late booking wedding party and we not offered any form of compensation. The way the receptionist came across was rude with the attitude of this is what it is so deal with it.

A fantastic stay in a house steeped in history. Loads of character and superb surroundings. Well worth a visit with easy access to nearby Sheffield but also ideal for walking and trekking across the countryside. A lovely all you can eat breakfast topped it off.

I and the other 4 visitors all loved the place. It had a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff were so accommodating welcoming and friendly, they even looked as if they enjoyed their jobs. Will definitely book on next visit to Sheffield. The breakfast was quality as well. Thanks everyone involved.

They closed small bar at 9.30pm! There was a wedding on in the main bar,we had to have an early night!Food was excellent staff were lovely.

Beautiful surroundings and grounds, lovely old stately home type building but communal areas very dated. Room was perfectly clean and presentable and good value for the price paid. Staff were all nice and nice terrace for a few drinks outside bar. Only real criticism was the food from the restaurant which was very poor, didn’t bother staying for breakfast the next day. My advice - stay at the hotel but eat at the pub just up the road.

3 Pleasant nights the evening meals were very good did not have breakfast as i was working and dose not start until 7.15 am. Easy free parking the WIFI is a bit in and out but there is a phone signal. Comfortable room could have done with a map to find it. Lovely location and a stunning building. I would stay here again.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel both inside and out. The interior is so beautiful and original and the Staff go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The breakfast was out of this world and walking in the grounds is an definite must when visiting. The whole experience was calming, relaxing and restful. The only sad thing I can say is that we did not want to leave.

the car park was being relaid/tarmac so had to park further away only downside. the room was clean and had recently been refurbished, had a good nights sleep bed fine.we stayed bed and breakfast, large buffet breakfast very good value and tasty. they only had bar meals in the evening and selection limited. have been here a few times and would visit again, staff very helpful

This is a lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Have eaten here before and food lovely, but the restaurant is not open so it’s served in which ever bar is open. Not quite the same and still restaurant prices. All said it’s nice enough to go back.

Lovely historic hotel set in peaceful surroundings. We loved the gardens and all the old trees. Bar was very comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was excellent. Wortley Hall is not worthy of being described a hotel (what does the "Q"stand for to be worthy of its listing on the Q Hotel's sight? It was more like a TUC/Miner's Welfare holiday property, being festooned with left-wing items- including forms to join ! Although warm enough there was no sense of warmth and comfort.There was no bottled water in the room nor fridge. Breakfast was served in a stark room but the food was OK except the there was alimoited fruit offeing not a fruit salad.

Staff were very abrupt and not very helpful. The reception was often unmanned and I couldn't find reception staff. Room was in need of repair with various leak marks on the ceiling. Wasn't the experience I was expecting from the photos on the listing.
