Upon arrival we were greeted by reception staff and they were very polite and friendly. They gave us all the information we needed and showed us to our room. The room was neat and tidy and was adequate for our needs. Alex in the 1885 bar was very polite and friendly too. Going into breakfast next morning was lovely. We we were greeted by Lorraine and asked if we would like to a window table. She explained everything in detail and the breakfast menu was superb whither fresh fruit and yogurts and a great selection for breakfast. The poached eggs were perfect but we have to give a special mention for the chef Mick who made the most superb overnight oats with a selection of fruits and almonds it was delicious. Would we stay again, most certainly. Well done everyone for making our stay most enjoyable.

Paint was peeling off ceiling in shower which probably needs to be addressed and white leather furniture in room needs to be replaced ideally as a bit tired and stained

This hotel is a nice, but somewhat basic accommodation. It is very close to the university and the centre of Bangor, which is very helpful. The staff, however, were very helpful and considerate. The restaurant staff were welcoming although I got there only 10 minutes before they were shutting. Likewise, at breakfast, they were attentive and helpful. I would recommend this hotel because of the staff
