The Bull Hotel; Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Only one VERY important improvement could have tipped our stay into 5*, and that is IF THE WEBSIT HAD THE POSTCODE for the CAR PRK, which is NOT the same as the post code listed in the hotel address, and that would have saved us 45 min of driving stress, asking people, going down local roads, seeing the Catgedral, knowing we weee close but, oh so far. Eventually I persuaded my friend to phone tge hotel- receptionist said ‘you need another postcode’!!! On arrival, another receptionist said they get hundreds of phone calls a month regarding this! So, just update the website please. Food- dinner, breakfast lovely, room great- comfortable, super beds, spotless, only shower problemstic. Couldn’t get it to work.water temp ✔️, was able to sponge myself down, but did not want to risk having a bath- mobility issues.TV good reception. All staff friendly and helpful. And, could leave car in car park when we went to the cathedral to visit ‘The Longest Tarn wxhibition- a short walk from hotel. Rwcconend the exhibition, on March 2025, recommend the hotel

Hotel not easy to locate due to one way system and car park a further journey to find once booked in. Staff an food excellent,rooms have all that is required but still could be updated more.Limited drawer space to unpack and use if staying one night. We do appreciate this is an old building

Good price for the convenience of being within walking distance of the rail station and the town centre. No air con in our room though there was a fan. Our stay coincided with the hottest day of the year, up to that point. On hotter days, the room may become stifling. We reported to reception that the extractor fan in our room didn't work.

Really friendly staff but the hotel was a little "tired". No WiFi which was difficult as we also couldn't get mobile single in our rooms. One broken lift. Staff that had to do reception and the bar.

I had a little trouble finding the car park but the receptionist was brilliant in helping me out and giving me a pre-printed map and an accurate post code for my SatNav. Check-in was seamless. Food was excellent. Wonderful ambience in the bar. Comfy room.

hotel in easy walking distance of the railway station. room comfortable, clean and tidy. downside, no lifts. door key swipe locks were unpredictable. sometimes the swipe card worked, sometimes didnt.

We booked two double rooms for two nights. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating, and by prior arrangement, allocated us adjacent rooms.

Great hotel, Secure parking (included in your price) Opt for a room with Air Con, as it was so very hot in the room. It did have a portable fan for use. The breakfast was average. Nothing spectacular about the breakfast. When we got to the cooked breakfast they’d ran out of most items and had to wait for freshly cooked items. NOT SELF SERVICE. Positives, Friendly helpful staff, lovely old building and decorated nice and tastefully. Beds were comfortable (pillows weren’t) Car is in a secure car park with locked gates at night. Clean hotel throughout. Staff very accommodating, switched our room for second night due to heat/no air con.

There was a wedding on so evening dining was not available. Bar and bistro closed for refurbishment. Wasn't aware of this when I booked. However a lovely hotel and a fantastic room.

Hotel was clean and comfortable the only negative thing was no air con needed it as it was 31 degree that weekend. A fan was available it helped but all in all an enjoyable stay

Disappointed with room, booked a king size got a double, dirty bedding and towels left on floor of room when we checked in, bathroom was dirty. Room very basic considering what we paid. Breakfast was a disaster and poor quality

The room was very clean. There wasnt a lock on the bathroom door which didn't bother us but might not be the same for someone else staying in our room. The staff were amazing as always. This is our third time staying here and every time we've had a lovely stay, lovely food and always felt so welcoming

I have stayed at the Bull Hotel once before because I live in Skegness and I needrd to catch an early train from Peterborough. So, when I needed to do the same thing the Bull was the obvious place to stay. There is plenty of parking, with two EV chargers. I programmed my car's sat nav with 3 Fitzwilliam Street Peterborough as the archway over the entrance to the carpark is immediately to the left of number 3. The room I had was clean, tidy comfortable with two armchairs. The bed was comfy. I ate breakfast there. Breakfast is a buffet. Breakfast was an enjoyable experience. To quote MacArthur when thr Japanese invaded the Philippines 'I shall return'.

A beautiful hotel right in the centre of town. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. I’d stay there again.

Room was spacious, shower had good pressure but the shower door was not the best and the water was spraying out on the bathroom floor. Bed was a good size but the mattress was quite hard and the pillows were not the softest too. Overall we were impressed with the hotel and would definitely stay again.

Our Room 202 although Basic with a backyard view was ultra clean and did what its meant to do. The bar however was absolutely amazing, and a pleasure to sit and relax ..... Has to be the nicest hotel in Peterborough

Had a very comfortable one night stay at The Bull Inn in a standard double room. Room was very clean and equipped as you would expect. Staff very very friendly and helpful. Would happily stay again.

I stayed for 2 nights and I would not book again. I found the reception staff to be either unpleasant or rude. It was a bizarre juxtaposition because due to how nice the downstairs lobby seemed in terms of decor and ambience I was surprised at how dated the room was. All power points were on the opposite end of the room to the bed (which is just annoying in 2025) and one of them didn't work properly. The shower was so strong it was painful and unpleasant to use. It was roasting in the room but there was no climate control nor any way to turn the radiator off. The desk chair had no cushion so was uncomfortable. The mattress on the bed was the same- it felt cheap, but I slept well enough in it. For such a short stay my key card stopped working multiple times to the point of frustration, and when it was working it took ages for the door to register it to let you through. (They did admit that they were updating this soon at least!) The hotel breakfast was expensive for what you got (I know hotel breakfasts are expensive but this did not feel worth it) and the staff were having a loud personal conversation that was disruptive to the peace of the early morning. I was in Peterborough for an event so I thought I would use my rewards points to stay at an independent rather than a chain. I'm sad that I wasted them on this hotel and I regret not staying in the Premier Inn instead.

Lovely character property, very comfortable beds and convenient, the bath and shower in need of repair and modernisation though but overall a pleasant stay.

Warm welcome lovely room live there was separate bath and shower. Very small Tv which somehow turned it self on in middle of the night. But really lovely place to stay.

A really nice hotel right in the centre of Peterborough and an easy walk to the train station. The room was clean and comfortable with good facilities. I had a bar meal and the quality was exceptional with great service. Will definatly stay again.

I had phoned earlier to say that I would be late, The night staff were rude and wouldn't hand me the key to the second room I had booked as my daughter hadn't arrived. They charged me again for the room and didn't give me directions to the room at first. We went from nook to corner to find our room! The second room When I finally got the key was in another part of the building and had no air con -on the hottest day of the year which was unbearable. The day staff were competent and gave me the refund for the extra payment taken and also gave me the key to the second room I had booked!

This hotel is consistently a favourable choice for lodging in Peterborough due to its friendly staff and its highly convenient location.

I used to stay at the Bull a lot on business. It was so pleasing to see that it is still as good as ever. Our room was so comfy, well appointed and in superb condition. The breakfast was really good too. The car park is free for staying guests too. I can't leave out the hotel staff who were all very helpful.

No sleep due to a massive weeding and my room was right above the wedding was moved to the front but between 12am and 3.30am massive fights etc right outside my window when I went to reception at 3am I was told to call the police me a guest! Phone didn’t work in the room as well and sash window that was covered in dirt and banging with the wind all night!!! No sleep at all

The hotel is well located right in the centre of Peterborough with plenty of onsite parking which is a bonus. Our only criticism would be directed towards the check-in on our arrival. The chap on reception seemed disinterested and bored as his body language showed. We didn't use the bar or the restaurant so we can't comment on these although the decor is very welcoming throughout the hotel and it's a lovely place to stay.

The Bull Hotel proved to be a great choice for a quick stopover in Peterborough (7 minute walk from the train station). It’s an older hotel but has lots of charm. I’d recommend it for a short stay. A surprisingly good price was an extra bonus !

Was a good weekend away located in the middle of the city not far from the Cathedral and the shops. Also a short walk to the Riverside to walk along

Nice and close to centre good value for money

The hotel is lovely and the staff helpful. I asked for a room change because I like to look out onto the street, which they kindly did. It is in the heart of town but that does mean its not the nicest of areas to walk around at night. Pubs and clubs are right there, so great if you're planning on going out out :)

Peterborough is now a rough neighborhood but the hotel is an oasis in that urban desert. Recommended

Great location in Peterborough. Clean and quiet room. Car park a bit difficult to find (Google maps doesn't exactly know the way) but no problems with parking once you get there via Fitzwilliam street.

The Bull Hotel was a great stay. The room was compact and beds good. The ensuite was excellent with plenty of room. Bar area was amazing and good food served most of the day. So one could eat if arrived late. The decor was really done well

Bar staff miserably, a lot of effort to serve you, don’t eat the prawn cocktail starter. Very few cheap prawns , all sauce little salad. No effort made .
