Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location for getting a train into Edinburgh (about a 20 minute walk from hotel). Dunfermline Abbey well worth a visit too. Have marked down facilities simply because there is no lift, so if you have a problem with stairs, be sure to specifically request a ground floor room. I will use this hotel again next time visiting Edinburgh.

We loved our stay. We were greeted on arrival by a member of staff who made you feel like you were a guest instead of somebody just paying for a service. First impression counts. The bar staff and dining room staff were also very friendly and courteous and there was ample car parking although it was very busy. The grounds must look lovely in the spring and summer and so we intend to stay here again.

Nice property. Staff excellent! Only negative was no elevator. While there saw a lot of elderly people having to get luggage to second floor. But staff was very helpful and around to lend a hand.

Friendly staff at check in. Room very nice and clean. Bathroom modern and very clean. Ate meal in restaurant and breakfast the next morning. Both were lovely and service great.

We’ve stayed here multiple times and love the hotel. Parking is great and it’s usually reasonably priced. This time it was busy so price was higher which was ok but we had a room right beside the entry to the bar, no issue again, the bar was not noisy but the room felt very cramped compared to the ones we usually have on the other side of the building. The shower temperature was impossible to control, it was either scalding or freezing. It’s our first disappointment with this hotel and we will request a room on the other side of the building now we’re aware of this.

Lovely stay. Property is a bit dated and we may have paid extra given the time of year which is understandable so I think on its normal rate it’s absolutely perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful and room size was very big. We didn’t eat at the restaurant so cannot speak for this but would stay again if up that part of the country.

Enjoyable one night stay. Hotel and the grounds are clean and well presented,, staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. He’s was very comfortable, and clean. Food was nice. My only critique was the shower - the glow was very poor despite trying all settings. Would book again though

Room was clean and big enough for 3 people. Bathroom was also big and clean. However old taps with separate hot and cold water taps and there was no ventilation in the bathroom. We had to open the small window that was facing possibly the kitchens exhaust pipe. The room was on the 1st level, not ground floor, and there is no lift. So it was very inconvenient for us with huge and heavy luggages. I also don't see the point of the heavy door above the staircase that totally annoyed us as we were coming in or out with both hands carrying heavy bags. This hotel is not recommended for those with physical disabilities. Maybe they do have rooms on ground level in another wing... Otherwise it is okay for a couple of nights.

The staff at the Pitbauchlie are excellent. Special thanks to the chef for catering to my food allergies and providing me with tasty meals and the the waiting staff for all being so helpful and cheerful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The gardens are attractive and well maintained. We have been guests, either to stay or for an event, at the Pitbauchlie for over 50 years and are never disappointed. We hope to stay again soon.

Good alternative to staying in the centre of Edinburgh and paying the high prices of the hotels there. There is a bus stop approx 10 mins walk away and buses every 30 mins right into the centre Very comfortable room with plenty of space. The bathroom has a bathtub which is always nice when you have been on your feet sightseeing all day

Pitbauchlie House Hotel was lovely. The room was a little outdated, but the rest of the property was nice! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the dining was delicious. The location is not ideal (nothing really great within walking distance), but it's a close enough drive to Edinburgh or to a train station to other places.

The receptionist went above and beyond. Great comfortable room. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was excellent. We had breakfast and would rate this about 7 out of 10. Considering we had an excellent dinner we expected a better cooked breakfast. Bacon could have been cooked a little longer , sausage was dry. The continental was limited and could have been better The apples in the continental were bruised and shouldn’t have been put out. You can catch a bus at the end of the road that goes to the centre of Edinburgh at a very moderate price. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was quite small. Kettle had hole in it. Restaurant menu was very disappointing. My husband is gluten free so there was two things on menu he picked the curry and because he couldn't had the flatbread i asked for chips instead and was told we would have to pay fot it extra . Not impressed
