Such a beautiful and cozy place. All staff were polite and very helpful. Food was lovely. Room was beautiful and very clean but... there was a steep and awkward staircase to get to the rooms which wasn't mentioned in the pre-booking information. We saw several people struggle with this, as did I. It wasnt a dealbreaker but i feel its worth mentioning. Also the double bed was so hard neither of us were able to sleep much, and had achy joints the next morning. Overall, it is a lovely place to stay and eat and we were well looked after, but these two things are the reason for a 4 and not a 5.

The Marlborough is a pub with tasty food and about five rooms for overnight stays. The staff is outstanding and does everything possible to be helpful. It is on a central street of a very small town, so it can be a bit noisy during the day and early evening, but is quiet at night. The rooms have nice versions of all the basics, including a good bed and excellent shower. There are few extra amenities beyond the room and pub, although the breakfast was very good. For a longer stay, the room had only a few hooks on the wall, but the owner immediately provided a long rack with hangars on request. It is a short walk to several tea shops, a grocery store, and the Assembly Hall and church. Overall I felt very well looked after during my two week stay for a workshop.

Fabulous traditional country hotel with excellent accommodation and top notch food options. Very convenient if you're intending to walk to Flatford Mill where the Haywain was painted - it's a 45 minute walk alongside the river. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even managed to find me the right sized Alan key to unscrew my camera's battery compartment! Very Highly Recommended
