Clean room, courteous staff, good food especially the fabulous breakfast. Tuesday's pub quiz was a bonus.

I liked the country location. Good car park at back. Friendly staff. Great quiz compere on Tuesday who made everyone feel welcome. Lovely floral baskets in and around the pub. The breakfast was excellent! 10/10.

This is a very traditional pub, but feels very welcoming. They have kept things quite traditional and welcome all kinds of people. Every Tuesday they have a quiz night.The rooms are on the far end of the pub, so it is very quiet at night. The room was very basic, but had everything I needed - a single bed, a bedside cabinet and an en-suite bathroom. There was a built in wardrobe, with a full length mirror on the inside of the door. I didn't need to use either, but nice that they are there. There was also a desk with chair and a small TV stood on the desk. I didn't use the TV. I put my phone on the desk, in order to use the plug to charge my phone. I couldn't see any other plug sockets in the room. The bed was comfy enough. I managed to get the right temperature on the shower this morning. There was a shower curtain. Never my favourite thing to use.The toilet was quite a slow flush. It was quiet for breakfast time. A few workers came in after I had started my breakfast and sat in the main pub. They ordered breakfast, which was nice to see local working people coming at breakfast time. This was around 8.30am. There was a variety of choice for cereal, along with fruit and yoghurt. I had the full English breakfast. This didn't include black pudding, which I'm happy not having. I would have liked a side plate for my toast, rather than it having been put on the plate. I would stay there again.

I stayed at the Wheatsheaf Inn because I was working in the area. My room was comfortable, with a nice en-suite shower room. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. The rooms are to the side of the pub, which serves excellent breakfast and evening meals. Plenty of parking available. I'd definitely stay here again if working locally. Good value too.

Very friendly staff on arrival, & showed us to the room. Very clean, comfortable room. Due to commitments, had cooked breakfast in restaurant first day, and early morning non-cooked breakfast in room the second. Both excellant. Had read some negative reviews before staying, but was pleasantly surprised, as nothing like was written. Would stay again if in area. Had photos of clean tidy room, showing what looks likes newish carpets throughout but app wouldnt let me upload them.

The room was perfectly adequate and the bed was comfortable. Bedding was clean but towels had a rather unpleasant smell (old cooking oil?!) water pressure in the shower was a little weak but again adequate. Certain areas (tops of plugs, windows edges etc) could have done with a wipe. Food was good and ample portions. Overall reasonable value for money.

Breakfast was brilliant. Lovely warm cosy room. Everything was very clean.

The bedroom doors couldnt be locked and the showèr didntnt work. Despite them saying my room had just been cleaned the bathroom was riddled with hair.

Hotel with rooms above the pub. On a fairly busy road so there is noise throughout the night. But not excessive Room included a lovely cooked breakfast. And the bed was comfortable. Room was not dark due to a very bright green emergency light above the bed

The service and warmth was first class, as was breakfast! The room was well appointed with a good bed and bedding, but the bathroom was very small, making it a little uncomfortable for someone tall (and not the slimmest!)

It’s a pub with rooms. Breakfast was nice, the staff were friendly. The room was very dated, marks on the bedding but the bed was comfortable. The window didn’t shut properly so could hear the busy road most of the night. There was damaged floorboards in the bathroom. The walls are so thin you can hear next door plugging something in, the room was fairly dusty and no plugs by the bedside.

The walls are paper thin , you can hear everything that’s going on in the next room. Trying to sleep at night is slightly hard especially if your neighbours are builders. Great for overnight sleep if you don’t want to sleep to early and you don’t have children

Parking is good. It is noisy, at least the room we had at the front had a lot of road traffic. They could do with double/secondary glazing. The service was good and the staff friendly.

Room was fine and bed was very comfortable. Room was nice and quiet too, especially seeing as it was above a pub and near a road Room was advertised as a "Superior Suite"; it patently wasn't as it was a single room with 1 King bed, a single bed and a sofa bed - this may be an oversight on the Hotels.com website but was misleading, nevertheless. Bathroom was a little outdated and shower was only suitable for someone less than 2-foot tall! It was fixed to the wall at the side of the bath and showering proved very difficult, especially as there was not screen/curtain. Food was very good (a little disappointing not to have some local beers) and breakfast was spot on!

Lovely pub. My room was ok, but it had no wifi reception (signal too weak); no universal power plug; no plug by the bed; no soap in the bathroom (only shampoo)

The room was adequate. My only complaints were the mattress was hard and lumpy so I had to sleep on top of the duvet, the wifi didn’t reach the bedrooms (highly irritating when you’re on a business trip), and the road noise was quite annoying, but there’s nothing the hotel can do about that. Apart from these problems it was fine. It was clean and tidy and it was handy having the bar and food just downstairs. Cheap and cheerful as long as you don’t mind the things I’ve mentioned.

The Inn is comfortable and quaint, but what really makes this place shine is the staff. We had nothing but pleasant interactions with the staff we encountered. The English breakfast is wonderful, and it was nice that we had a good place for dinner after a long day. Would definitely recommend and come back.

Lovely staff. They could not have been nicer. Young lady checked me in and went through everything. Room and facility clean, warm and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic and Liam behind the bar was really nice chatted with us. We would definitely come again and recommend this to our friends.

We had to go to Linfield for the. BBC Radio Sussex & Surrey community awards & found this to be the most promising place to stay the night. It turned out to be excellent! The room was very comfy & had everything we need including tea/coffe making, TV & very comfortable bed. The included breakfast was manor from heaven. The staff were friendly & helpful. We are now on our way to Scotney Castle & on our way back to Worthing will visit Standon Hous, feeling well fed & relaxed. Highly reccomended. Kirk & Alex Dickenson

Well situated for visit to Nymans and Brighton, very close to road so a bit noisy on a hot night. Bathroom rather tight, a shower would be a better fit than the bath. Overall very good and value for the money charged.

Great place to stay. We were going to a concert In Brighton and this was an ideal place to stay. Staff were helpful about local area, amenities and getting to and from Brighton. Room is simple but perfect for what we needed. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. Plenty of choice, happy to accommodate special dietary requirements. Highly recommend.

Convenient for motorway network and to Burgess Hill. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good menu and breakfast had a lot of choice. The downside was that it was on a very busy road and the window didn't quite shut. It was a front facing room but we noticed that the downstairs room s were facing the back so noise would have been less. Generally enjoyed our stay and Cuckfield is a lovely village.

The room was a fair size. It was rather hot but you can turn the radiator off. It is on a main road and there is a lot of traffic noise. But it is nice and clean and the staff are helpful. They did us bacon sandwiches to go instead of having to sit down for breakfast.

Good place for a short stay. Busy road in front of the rooms until ~11 pm. Nice places to sit inside & outside the pub. Atmosphere is very friendly and the Engish Breakfast was good.

Even though i gave 5 star i will concur what others have said about the traffic noise just so your aware, but overall it had a lovely English charm about it and great breakfast.

Stayed at the Wheatsheaf overnight when attending a family party in Haywards Heath. Convenient location, reasonable rates, friendly, helpful staff and nice breakfast. Perfect for our requirements.

It was ideal for going to the truck show in Ardingly. I had a small single room with a very decent sized bathroom. It was nothing fancy but it was clean and comfy and secure and the pub does great food, and all staff are excellent. I would definitely come back.

Quick and friendly book-in, room clean and comfortable. Just what it says on the tin. Breakfast not good - inedible scrambled egg, burnt bacon. Otherwise it was fine and would stay again.

Very average. Room was very small with only one power socket if you unplugged the TV. Bathroom very tight, barely room for your hand to pull the toilet flush! The bath taps only functioned to shower, so although there was a bath, you couldn’t use it as a bath!! The food I wanted was off the menu, so I went for the pizza. The base was so charred that I returned it! I was told by the waiter that in their opinion, it was perfectly OK to eat! Seriously, eating burnt food bitters the taste and it is very unhealthy! For the price paid, perhaps you could not expect much more, so that’s why it has an average rating from me.

The staff were excellent friendly and helpful. The room was perfectly comfortable and very clean. The busy road outside was a bit noisy when we are used to quiet at night so needed getting used to. Breakfast and evening meals were good. Excellent value
