Great location, close to everything, walking distance to many restaurants, shops, tourist attractions. The Hotel, could use some major updates, as the deck off my room, seemed close to collapsing. WIFI wasn’t the greatest. We were allowed to drop off our luggage as we arrived several hours before check in time. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful and well maintained Victorian building. There is no on-site staff and it is difficult to get assistance. Emails are only responded to with a generic boiler-plate welcome message and no useful replies. The description states there is limited in-site parking but when I called for clarification I was told no parking at all. The lot behind the building was vacant but I was told it was not available.

The location of the hotel was fantastic. The room itself was not as represented on the website. It was very small, with no dresser or drawers. The comforter had a large stain, towels were visibly dirty, and the shower had quite a lot of mold. There was a shard of broken glass on the sink. The equivalent of one full outlet was available for electronics. For a four day stay, we were given less than one roll of toilet paper. Staff were helpful to resolve the toilet paper and comforter problem.

We always stay in this style of accommodation in QC. In this instance, property images did not match reality. We read the reviews and were not expecting all the bells and whistles, but this property fell short of our modest expectations. Phone contact was polite and professional. Beds and pillows were comfortable and clean, but the condition of the common areas and room were not. An easy and inexpensive suggestion, replace the dirty, black stained shower curtain. Perhaps replace what appears to be a collection of uni student cast-off furniture. Overpriced given the condition.

Honestly, the building is decent, and in a very walkable location, however, the room was dirty, the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned in some time (hair stuck all over the bathtub and shower tiles, toothpaste smears on the sink, gunk gathering in the corners of the tub, either black mold or bugs up high on the ceiling). The furniture was dusty and dirty. The front desk is not manned, you have to call a number to try and reach someone. Would not stay here again.

This hotel is in an excellent location to enjoy Old Quebec without ever needing your car. Overall clean but needs some updating. The deadbolt didn’t work on the door and we also had no chain on door either. Bed was very comfortable. A small room but for what we needed it worked out well. I would recommend this hotel but no it’s no frills but location is 5 star!

The room had a broken window and only one small operable window, that had no screen. One of the table lamps didn't work. The entry door barely closed and locked. There were no instructions on how to operate the mini-split heater/cooler. Don't waste your money on this hotel.

Plus: Quiet, clean, reasonably priced, near everything one wants to visit and enjoy. Minus: We chose this hotel because of the welcoming photos. Our room did not resemble any of the photos presented. We were in cramped quarters (difficult to go around bed), was very warm (also a plus when coming in from cold), only one chair for two people. No bath (as most photos showed), nowhere to hold soap and such in shower. All in all, it was a pleasant stay at the hotel though false representation in pictures of rooms.

Heat wasnt working.I had to blead air out of the radiator myself. Mini fridge wasn't plugged in when r arrived. Walls were paper thin. We had very loud and drunk neighbors and no reception person to call. Only got one key for the room. The keypad to enter barely works. Water in the shower changed temperature wildly.

The hotel was wonderfully located, easily walkable to the Places D'Armes as well as the Citadel and Plains of Abraham. The local dining options were numerous. Unfortunately the hotel itself was in dire need of some TLC and apart from the cleaning lady, we only met a reception member from another hotel once, who only came because we had to call the help number. It felt very impersonal.

Here we are day 2 of our 3 day trip still haven't seen any hotel staff. We were lucky that another guest was entering the building or we would be sleeping on the street the 1st night. No one will answer their service phone. We are currently locked out of our room with no way to get our stuff. Still no one will answer the phone to get us a key that works or to get our luggage so we can stay somewhere else.

Electronic check in seemed ok and we used the door code ok. Our card key envelope was brought to us by a young man who clearly was not used to dealing with people. Our room was actually in another building opposite and we never did find the number and the entrance was under scaffolding. Unnerving! Inside, the building which is classical and beautiful had been beautifully renovated and was gorgeous but we … and another couple we met, would have preferred a human being present in the building or opposite at the original address. Hotel room was very nice and clean, however parking was terrible and it was impossible to get anyone to talk to with questions. We were told no one would be present upon check in but we could not get in touch with anyone to ask about parking. I messaged the hotel before we left through hotels.com, called the number several times and let several messages with no response. Also the tv would not turn on.

We loved our stay at this hotel. It is steps from everything in the heart of saint-Louis. If you’re looking for an old-world hotel in Old Quebec City - look no further. The beds are comfortable, there is a shower, fridge, coffee maker, etc. However, it is a very old building. You may expect to hear footsteps and talking from time to time. We will definitely stay here again!

Stayed with my mom and sister before a cruise! We stayed two nights at the Hotel Ermitage. It was a delightful room, clean and secure. The hotel was quiet but with windows open in the morning it could be noisy. Location was perfect! We all said we would definitely stay here again:)

The location is great. 5 minute walk to the Fairmont hotel and it is directly in the old part of Quebec City. Parking is not included and not close. We had to walk sometimes 15 minutes to a lot, which was expensive. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Please note that you might book the Hotel Ermitage, but our room was in a different hotel labeled "Hotel Acadia" across the street and down the road, which I felt was odd. We had booked a "junior suite" since it had been advertised as having a "separate bedroom". This was false advertising; the suite is one large room with a bed and sofa (with pull-out bed) in it, with a bathroom. It does not have a separate bedroom (as of December 2024). The management was able to re-book us in a proper suite on the second night, which I appreciated. The room and suite were comfortable but missing a couple of basics. They both had microwaves, refrigerators, counter tops, but no plates, knives, forks, etc, so we could not eat the food we had bought. I recommend addition of these kitchen basics.

Our stay at Hotel Ermitage was great! It’s clean, well maintained, had the basic necessities, and is in an excellent location. Make sure to get parking with your room as they have limited parking space and the alternative is the public parking of the city, which is around 10-12 minutes walking distance. I highly recommend this location, but keep in mind that they do not serve food, so no options for room meals service, nor do they have breakfast.
