Le Capitole was quite a find. We had a great room facing the St. Lawrence, and it was so quiet we never heard anyone in the hall or in neighboring rooms. We slept well, enjoyed terrific coffee from the in-room Nespresso machine as well as in the hotel lobby, and thought the pool on the 9th floor was lovely. What's better than watching the sunset while you're in a pool? The staff was very friendly, the Clubby Bar was intimate and fun, and on our last morning, the concierge recommended a terrific bakery to pick up breakfast right on Rue St. Jean. We ate in the long art-filled hallway on the 7th floor with sunlight streaming in from the windows. Wonderful! The location was great--right by the gate leading to Rue St. Jean and across the street from a town square and concert hall. It was a weekend with street perfomances everywhere, from a circus act in the square to all sorts of musical and theatrical acts including a saxophone quartet, stilt walkers outfitted as sea creatures, a country/swing trio featuring yodeling, etc. Lots of fun, and really only a 15 minute walk to Le Chateau Frontenac. Valet parking made it easy, and we would gladly stay there again on another visit to Quebec City.

The entire experience was amazing. Valet parking was very convenient. Every spot in the hotel was immaculate. The hotel bar was great. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to stay here again.

Excellent hotel just out the St John gate of Okd Quebec City. Very close to lots of dining/shops. About a 15 minute walk (some uphill) to the chateau frontenac area. The rooms were clean and pleasant. The pool and deck at the top of the hotel were pleasant. The gym was well stocked. The layout of the hotel is unconventional with the reception/lobby on the 7th floor of the theater building and all the rooms located in another connected building. We had three rooms and all enjoyed their stay.

Great location and nice staff. The room was nice (though not particularly memorable) and clean. The hotel bar is a nice touch and the attached restaurant was some of the better food we found in old Quebec. One star removed for the "pool" (which we were looking forward to) being more of a large bathtub. Not sure what anyone would use it for since it was too small for swimming and too cold for relaxing.

Great location and easy to arrive by car. Valet excellent and worth the money in parking restricted Quebec. Breakfast is in the il teatro restaurant below the hotel at an extra charge but good value. Pool is small, but great view from terrace. Staff were exceptional. Nice room.

Hotel was in a great location. Was not happy about them charging my card before I got there when I selected pay on arrival. But they fixed the issue. The only thing I did not like was the water was light brown. They gave no warning about that during check in. It was only after we asked then they told us there was water maintenance going on.

This hotel is a real disappointment. The room itself is beautiful but for the price paid I expect a high level of service. Our room had the “please make up room” tag on the door from when we went out at 2:00 pm until we returned at 5:00 pm. The room was not cleaned. We went back out at 5:30 pm and put a cleaning request in at the reception. When we returned we walked in to our $500 a night room to find that all they did was make the bed, change the towels and remove the garbage. The bathroom was not cleaned at all. Neither was the room! The following day (meaning today) I let reception know this - and that we really expected way better service. We let them know that we would be working in the room until 2:00 pm and agreed to pass by when heading out to let them know the room would be ready for housekeeping team to enter and clean. Well, at 12:15 pm the cleaning team started pounding on the door despite the “do not disturb” tag up and the arrangement made with reception. All of this happened while we were on a very important work call. To top it off they have been doing some sort of work in the room right above us. Making extremely loud noises! Banging, dragging, some insane squeaking sound!! We are feeling completely let down by this hotel. We really expected to have an enjoyable 2 night work stay here (that we extended to 4 night after the first night) - so far this simply hasn’t happened. I can’t even explain how much I regret extending our stay! We expect to be compensated

The hotel was wonderful. We had a great five days. It was a good location. Lots of things close by. The only thing I found was house cleaning was not the greatest. We had the room cleaned twice and they never swept or vacuumed floor.

We enjoyed our stay here and would visit again. The property is beautiful and well-decorated, but some cleanliness and maintenance issues could be improved. Our room sink had a drainage issue, and the property gym looked like it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time. The size of the gym and variety of equipment was also disappointing for a property of this stature. Because our corner room was wrapped completely in glass with a view that truly couldn’t be beat, our room’s air conditioner struggled to keep up and cool the room the first night. After this, we kept the curtains pulled on the sunny side of our room and that seemed to help. We enjoyed our couple visits to the hotel’s Clubby Bar but would skip their restaurant, Il Teatro, as we ordered a margherita pizza for room service one night and it was just straight up not good. Overall, the views from the room were stunning and the property is conveniently located to anything you’d want to do.

The hotel and rooms were modern, updated, and beautiful. The lighting in the bathroom was great, but the lighting in the room was dim. Overall the hotel is great, but the people working there need ALOT of training on service. The front desk people we encountered were on the border of simply rude. The young lady that checked us in was not welcoming, just very transactional. If didn't ask, she wasn't offering. The young woman who checked us out was even worse, did not ask how our stay was, almost over- charged us for parking, and never even raised her head to make eye contact. They young men at valet were nice if you engaged with them but if you did not, they just ignored you. They didn't once go to hold a door or ask to help with anything, it was bizarre. Management needs to send ALL of their employees to a professional hotel/ service management training course. Again, the hotel and rooms are very spacious and beautiful, and the location is perfect, just outside the fort walls and a walk to everything you want to see and do.

The biggest perk of our stay was our room was ready when we checked in early so that's a big surprise. Our suite is well appointed however the hair conditioner was empty followed by empty body lotion so we had to keep calling housekeeping. There is no turndown service for the two nights we stayed. Something is amiss in this hotel unfortunately. No doorman at 8 am when we left the establishment. Their concierge, Israel is excellent, though. He is very pleasant, helpful and professional.

This has been my favourite hotel In Quebec City for a long time - just beware the false VIP Gift when you check in. They give you what is supposed to be a free voucher for a drink at the bar - and it is most definitely not free. My biggest complaint is that when I pointed this out at checkout, they did not make the adjustment on my bill as promised. Very disappointing.

From the moment we drove up to the hotel our stay was perfect! The valet took our car and we got to check in 2 hours early. The front desk staff was wonderful and the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Our rooms were spotless, beds and pillows comfortable and room amenities just what we needed. The hotel is within walking distance to everything. I would absolutely recommend Le Capitole if you are visiting Quebec City. You will not be disappointed.

Terrible Customer Service. Everything was great until I arrived home to find a $830. Charge on my credit card from this hotel. I called them immediately stating that I prepaid through Expedia and the only charge I incurred was the Parking for 3 days ($120 tax) The Lady said she would investigate and call me back. Never received a call 2nd Call, Lady says her Manager is in a meeting and would call me back. Never received a call. 3rd call. Lady says Manager is with a client and would call back. Never called me back. 4th Call. Received a credit card refund for $530. $247 still short in the refund. Gentleman says the Manager will call back or he will call back in 15 minutes. No call back. This is now the 5th day of trying to get this resolved. Be warned.

Whether it was the friendliness of front desk staff Marva or Allyssa (among others), the helpfulness of the Concierge team of Israel St-Jacques and Louise Roy, the professionalism of the servers in Il Teatro (merci Rachel), every team member was a delight. The room (Horizon Suite) was exquisite with a fabulous view and extremely well appointed. All the little touches are perfect. Every aspect of the room is perfectly designed from the electric sheers and black out curtains, to the shower controls being in the opposite wall of the shower head. Everything was designed with the discerning guest in mind. The artwork throughout the property is gorgeous with artist bios available to see. The Clubby Bar was a great place for an adult beverage and we had the pool and sun deck to ourselves for an afternoon. Our stay could not have been more perfect. Truly.

Great location! Steps from the front gate and a charming outdoor ice skating rink across the street.. We did not use valet parking as we did not need the car at all during our stay, just parked at the place D’Youville underground garage across the street. Steps from shops and great restaurants, bistros. 10 min walk to the chateau Frontenac , 15 min to the lower town/old port

The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holiday season, demonstrating their attention to details. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a simple King room that was clean and generally very comfortable. The Hotel itself pleasant if fairly unsurprising. It has a nice quiet bar with a fireplace that we thoroughly enjoyed It's well located and makes exploring Quebec City easy. We even had an ice skating rink & a small fair next door! My one quip is that the gym was poorly attended - no towels or cups for water. At least the equipment was in good shape. The service at Il Teatro was OK. I didn't have a chance to visit the indoor pool. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Everything about this property was phenomenal. The front desk staff was welcoming and informative. The concierge was extremely pleasant. We had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner at the restaurant. The food and service was wonderful there as well. When we return, we will stay here.

The hotel went above and beyond during our stay. Rooms were beautiful and well equipped. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and the Clubby Bar a perfect spot to end the night with a cocktail. The hotel was in easy walking distance to everything you would want to see and do in Quebec City. Would most certainly recommend Le Capitole and hope to return in the future.

Great location, very nice hotel, room was excellent as were the staff. Only let down was the room service meal from the Italian restaurant on the first night. Cannelloni was like a frozen meal heated in a microwave, pasta was tough & filling dry.

Located just steps from the wall around the old town of Quebec City, the location of the hotel is wonderful. Our room was lovely and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows. Very comfortable! The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and we especially enjoyed having breakfast in the fresh air, while seated under cover. They also have heaters to ensure comfort when the temperature dips. The Clubby Bar, located on the 6th floor, had great city views and was perfect for a nightcap.
