Casona 61 By Guruhotel

Like the room with private roof top deck & pool. The linen & king size bed was comfortable. Would be nice to have a small fridge in the room as part of standard room amenities. Apart from that, I had a good 3 night stay in this property.

Casona 61 ist ein 5-Sterne Hotel. Vieles ist wunderschön und großzügig gestaltet, wie der gesamte Eingangsbereich. Der Pool und die Poolarea sind dagegen eher klein (ansonsten schön). Aufgrund anderer Bewertungen hatten wir kein Frühstück im Hotel versucht. Dennoch wäre eine Infokarte zu den Frühstücksmöglichkeiten (Was & Wann) hilfreich gewesen. Auch Infomaterial zu Mérida und Umgebung hätte uns gefreut. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 2.Stock mit Wendeltreppe zur privaten Dachterrasse mit Aussenbadewanne. Leider waren weder die Treppe, noch die Dachterrasse einladend. Hängematten oder Liegen und paar mehr Pflanzen wären schön gewesen. Der winzige Pool / Aussenbadewanne war vom Wasser nicht einladend (Taubenfedern etc) - eine einfache Netzabdeckung hierfür wäre sicher hilfreich. Alle im Hotel waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Für die Zimmergestaltung etc. gibt es aber Potential nach oben.

Clean, comfortable room, nice pool area and staff are very nice & make sure you are satisfied with everything. Nice little breakfast, good price. The only thing hotel can improve is put a small fridge in the rooms.

Casona céntrica, habitación básica de buen tamaño, cómoda, estacionamiento para autos limitado (las 2 noches debí estacionar en la calle), digamos que no sentí calidez en la habitación y en el servicio.

Deberían precisar que el estacionamiento no está incluido y que tiene un costo extra.

Hotel muy bonito y muy cómodo, a muy buen precio y bien ubicado en el centro de Merida. Lo único que no me gusto es que dice que tiene estacionamiento, razón por el que elegí específicamente este hotel, y NO TIENE, tienes que pagar $100mxn el día en un estacionamiento de un restaurant con el que hicieron “convenio” que está a 2 cuadras del hotel. En general el hotel es muy bonito y si regresaría, pero ojo con el estacionamiento.

The hotel was lovely and the staff was great. The biggest drawbacks were absolutely no amenities ie restaurant, bar, snack machine, ice. There is an option to pay for a continental breakfast but it starts at 8am & I was already gone. The other concern was parking. There is a 1 way side street that is free to park. It is hard to find an open space & on the 4th night someone backed into my rental and left. They do offer paid parking in a lot a few blocks away.

Nice quiet property. Close to walk to shopping and dining. Friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel Wish there was a fridge in room. Pillows were a little lumpy. But I would stay here again anytime

I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. I rented two rooms (3&4) from July 23 to July 24, 2023. I found that the sheets were dirty, with a sweaty smell, and it was clear that they had not been changed since the previous guest. I had to call and ask for them to be changed. The pillows has a sweaty smell, and I found cockroaches in the room. The windows did not close properly, and mosquitoes entered the room. There were only 2 towels per room, and they were old and poorly washed. The toilets did not flush properly. The front desk staff were always friendly, but to anyone reading this review, I recommend that you do not take the risk and be lured by the offer or location. Do not come to this hotel, it is not worth it. We have been traveling the world for over ten years, and this is the worst hotel we have ever visited. No recomiendo a nadie que se hospede en este hotel, Rente dos habitaciones (3&4) julio 23 hasta julio 24, 2023. Encontre que las sabanas estaban sucias , con olor a sudor, se notaba que las mismas que dejo el huesped anterior las dejaron puestas, tuve que llamar y pedir que me las cambiaran, las almoadas olian a sudor, encontre cucarachas en la habitacion, las ventanas no cerraban correctamente y entraban mosquitos en la habitacion, 2 toallas por habitacion y las mismas super viejas y mal lavadas, los hinodoros no descargaban. El personal del front desk, siempre amables. No vengan aqui, no se dejen seducir por la ubicacion. Share Like Dislike

Deficiente la limpieza del cuarto, cabellos en el piso, ventanas sucias, varios moscos muertos aplastados en las paredes, gente dejando ropa interior tendida en el área de alberca, ventana de la regadera sin mosquitero.

The hotel was clean and very nice inside. My room was cozy and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I really enjoyed being able to walk around outside alone and feel safe. My only complaints would be that the linen was dingy and, even though it smelled fresh, it looked dirty at times. Also the sidewalk near the hotel was blocked by trash that attracted rodents, no fault of the hotel.

En general bastante bien, solo un detalle, el bote de basura del sanitario se ve muy feo (está oxidado) y para mí, eso fue un mal aspecto

We had a great 10 day stay at Casona 61. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the rooms and public areas were immaculate, and the location made getting around the city very easy. Wifi and AC were top notch, and the grounds were beautiful. The only thing lacking was a mini-fridge in the rooms, but this was a minor inconvenience. Would definitely stay again without hesitation.

Tiene muchos detalles, principalmente el moho existente en las paredes de la regadera, lo hacen ver sucio y descuidado, el servicio de aseo regular, no están atentos de las toallas de manos, las sabanas se sienten sucias, al parecer no las cambiaron cuando entramos y así estuvieron durante toda nuestra estadía, pedimos unas almohadas menos voluminosas y nunca llegaron, en general el hotel esta bien pero deben cuidar los detalles para que de verdad sea un hotel boutique.

The private "pool" is smaller than a jacuzzi but nice little area. There wasn't any parking and I choosed that hotel because of the parking lot. The front desk people could try to smile a little. The front desk girl couldn't stop seeing her Novela in her phone while we checked in.

La habitación de buen tamaño y la cama cómoda para un buen descanso, la alberca privada le da un plus para una mejor estancia, se aprovechanmejor de noche.

Pésimo colchón y almohadas.

La atención excelente, fueron muy amables siempre en recepción. Pero en cuanto a la habitación que nos dieron tenía moho y el aire acondicionado se escuchaba terrible todo el tiempo, no se podía descansar.

The hotel was fine in most ways. Mostly clean, well kept etc and with a very comfortable bed. Some odd features such as wooden shutters instead of window, but may well be just unusual for our tastes. Air con worked well and really needed to! Did not feel a true 5-star though.

Una maravilla de hotel, cerca de lugares increíbles. Lo mejor es la atención de Karla, July, y Mary, siempre dispuestas a darte información y recomendaciones. Las instalaciones súper cómodas, aire acondicionado, cafetera, agua caliente en la regadera y con buena presión. Sin duda, volvería a reservar ahí.

Tuve que salir por una emergencia dos días antes y me cobraron todo la estancia. una pena de lugar. pésimo servicio y la gente de la recepción muy grosera. Qué si no quiero volver al hotel pues que a ellos no les importa. qué haga lo que quiera. Una pena de verdad con este lugar.

Ventilation on the bathroom is a problem, they only have a window that partially opens and that’s it, you need to keep the door open to keep the air circulating. Also we requested additional towels and the staff at the front desk told us that they could provide those to us but with a $50 MXN fee per towel.. kind of weird, this is the first time I experience something like this at a hotel. Another issue that we had was on one ocasión when we returned to the hotel, the front door was locked, we were knocking and calling the telephone number for about 10 min and no answer… after a lady who was at the kitchen on the other side of the building noticed us and came to open the door for us (it was around 7:30 pm…)

This is the second time I'm staying here. I love this place, it's quiet, the sun hits the pool perfectly, so relaxing in it makes it wonderful. The rooms are excellent and the beds are so comfy... I'm coming back every time. Gotta say too, the staff makes the stay really pleasant as well.

El hotel es pequeño pero hermoso! Las instalaciones están limpias y el personal es muy amable. La ubicación es excelente, a dos cuadras de la Plaza Grande y alrededores.

I stayed for 2 weeks. I liked everything about the hotel, plus the location was perfect just 2 blocks from the Plaza Grande but still very quiet. I have no need to look for other hotels in Merida as Casona 61 was a great find. I'm booking a 2 week stay next year.

Only two blocks away from downtown downtown.

Property itself was fine, nothing spectacular but adequate. The surrounding area is dirty and dimly lit with narrow roads and busy traffic. I would definitely skip staying in the centro area and opt for a more known mainstream stay.

Hôtel sympa proche du centre ville de Merida. Le parking se trouvait a 2 minutes de l’hotel et coûtait 100 pesos par nuit. L’établissement propose un petit déjeuner simple mais très bon en supplément. Les chambres sont très confortable, le lit très grand. Il manque juste un petit frigo pour un hôtel de ce standing. Personnel très sympathique et accueillant. Je recommande !

I loved my stay in here, it's a gem. I'll be back definitely. The staff is very friendly and they will tell you more about Yucatan stories and places to go, the breakfast is delicious, and one thing I gotta say is about the whole structure of the hotel, it gives you that rustic vibe and feel... and the shampoo!!! I think i'll be back just because of that shampoo they provide! haha The beds area amazingly soft, just enough to lay yourself down into deep sleep after a full night out, or to chillax at the pool after a full beach day. I strongly recommend renting a car at National by the airport, they are also friendly. The parking at the hotel is super convenient, and nearby. If you want a relaxing beach, where almost no one is around, Celestun is your spot. (progreso is too crowded). Plus, you'll see the flamingos and ojo de agua.

El restaurante es una verdadera porquería, no tienen lo indispensable para sobrevivir. Si quieres algún servicio al cuarto te cobran. Muy malo

Todo fue perfecto, super limpio, amables y atentos, es un hotel estilo Boutique por eso no hay bar ni restaurant, aunque si venden desayuno en sus horarios, pero puede caminar a todos los restaurantes y bares alrededor sin problema. NOS ENCANTO TODO, MIL GRACIAS!

Los colchones de las camas no estan comodos ni firmes, no descansas bien. El personal es muy amable y servicial. El desayuno muy malo, lento y caro no se recomienda. En general el hotel es bonito y tranquilo.

This was a great place to stay in Mérida, perfect location and the room was very comfortable! We stayed in one of the rooms with a private pool, perfect for two people to spend a hot afternoon. The room was clean, quiet and the mattress was soft and comfortable. The only thing that would make it better is a mini fridge so that you could enjoy cold drinks while sitting in the pool! Speaking of cold drinks, you were always able to refill your water bottle with cold purified water in the front lobby, which really came in handy. While we never availed ourselves of the service, there was a small cafe in the centre that served coffee and breakfast too. Good location, close to one of the main squares, plenty of restaurants and shopping close by. Walking home at night felt perfectly safe and well lit. All in all if I return to Mérida I would stay here again!
