Absolutley beautiful grounds and venue, staff were friendly and room was really nice. The first night was lovely however the 2nd night there was a wedding which we had not been warned about. We struggled to park our car and had to squish it in to a small gap which we were worried we would find damages, the music was 'thud thud thud' from the wedding room even with all the windows closed, children were knocking our door and running off aswell as other children sat outside our room screeching till late. Had we been warned we may have booked somewhere else for some peace as we had booked the weekend away for a peaceful break.

Lovely garden. Nice restaurant and very good food. Main course portion in our case (only ate once) a bit small. Dessert made up for that! Excellent. We had a older seeming room with a double bed plus sofa in a annexe to the main buildung in back at the gravel car park. Impossible to not traipse dust into the room. Cars driving in and out did not bother us. Nice bath with bath tub, no extra shower. Fine for us. There are more buildings with rooms on the property that seem more modern. Since Moonraker Hotel is out of town a car seems mandatory for going out. Moonraker Hotel was a good choice for us.

On a sunny day the views and location are delightful. Good restaurant. Very comfortable corner room on first floor with views over the hills and one of the white horses. Easy parking.

This is one of my favorite places to stay with beautiful understated grounds and gardens, stone walls, replete with history, privacy, quiet, amazingly accommodating and friendly staff, excellent service, always clean rooms. Above and beyond. Thank you again! I hope to return and to educate myself more in the history of the place over the years and the wonderful stories contained within its walls.

The building and setting was gorgeous. Had dinner and breakfast options, and a bar. Rooms were clean and spacious and bed was comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Nice size room away from the main building in a lovely courtyard with tables and chairs to use. A good nights sleep as it is quiet, our room backed onto a field. Bathroom is spacious with a bath and overhead shower which was fine but could do with some TLC. Tea and coffee facilities in the room too. Friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble.

Noisy feet from upstairs, otherwise a nice friendly clean place with lot of parking. Nice gardens to walk round and a lovey sheltered court yard to sit and have a drink

Very nice welcome and very clean room and hotel. Very quiet, had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was very expensive but it was very good quality with probably local sausages (large) nice back bacon and all the trimmings. Other cooked options were available. Would stay there again and can recommend for sure.

The first room we was offered had clearly not been cleaned and still had a larger glass in it and the pillow case had not been changed as was all wrinkled up. We were then offered two more rooms, one so hot that we certainly wouldn't have wanted to sleep in it, the second was an attic room which although was fresher had a mouldy smell.

Really nice room, friendly staff and great location. There were a few cobwebs across the ceiling though and the breakfast was pretty pricey so we only ate there once.

The property was very run down, the bed needed replacing very uncomfortable, slip mat in bathroom as moldy and had loads of holes in it. Noise from the room above was awful especially at 6.00 am in the morning. Continental breakfast not bad, cooked breakfast fine. We ate in the restaurant one night and food was excellent. Would not recommend this hotel until a full refurbishment has been made.

The staff were delightful, the food was tasty. The room was in good condition and the area is lovely. Two points that were not great, first there was no fan in the room and it was hot. You couldn’t open the windows fully as they have wires on them to prevent that. So it was stuffy. Second and more importantly, it needs de-wood lousing. There are lots of old beams in the room and we had wood lice in the bed. It was not pleasant and the child I was with did not react well. As there are no staff at the property overnight, there was nothing to be done but to get on with it.

All was good apart from lack of heating in our room. After 2 days we told the management, but still no heat when we returned in the evening. We were given a blow heater, and the system was tweaked into action for a couple of hours, but no heat again in the morning!!

Staff were amazing. I have never been to a hotel with such wonderful service. If I judged all hotels on the service received from this hotel I have not visited one that could even come near it for helpfulness. The room was delightful and cosy. It over looked fields hence I was able to sleep with the curtains open. Food was well presented. I have been travelling from hotel to hotel for almost six months. The Moonraker comes out top

My stay was lovely, The staff in the hotel were exceptional, they could not do enough to help and make the stay the best it could be. In particular there was young man on in the evenings (Didn't catch his name) and a lady in the mornings (Also didn't catch her name) but they were amazing. Everyone was polite, and friendly, and made the stay fabulous. My room was quaint, but very clean and tidy, could not have asked for more.

The young man working day and night at reception and in the restaurant was so helpful and professional. We had an issue with our bicycles and he was very helpful getting us a taxi to the right shop for repairs. The food was great. The service was great. That view from our room was lovely. Our bed was extremely comfortable. We would happily stay there again.

We had a fantastic time at Moonraker, from the moment we arrived the service was great, all staff were friendly and helpful with anything we requested. Had dinner at the on site restaurant first night and it was such good quality food we chose to eat there again the following night. Beautiful quiet location but also close to nearby Trowbridge.

Definitely unexpected, very quaint, we mistook location for closer to Bath, but it was next to the bus line which for 2 pound took you into Bath so no biggie ajdnstupid convenient! We totally would go back for a weekend stay but otherwise great experience!

The hotel room was good, however the food was awful, I ordered fish and chips, the fish could have been used as a house brick, and the chips were hard as rock, when I tried to put my fork in it it shot off the plate and landed on the floor. I took the batter off and just ate the fish and left the batter. I ordered a Pironi and got given a London pride, I didn't complain as I have never had a London pride. The room was freezing cold but clean. Would I be going back, not very likely.

Clean friendly relaxed attentive staff. Super comfy bed. Great food. However, the chef was unexpectedly off 2 days running, so no cooked breakfast. Also the furniture in the room needs a bit of TLC and a bigger mirror on the tea table would look better.

Room was lovely if a little musty smelling. Layout was different and suited us well. Food was good but not if you are hungry. Very small portions, lack of vegetables and high prices for both food and drink. Ended the meal still feeling hungry which isn’t what you want after spending over £70.

We met up with other members of our family who live in different parts of the UK. Although concerned we might be cold, in fact we were quite comfortable. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the room a good size. We didn’t ask for a ground floor room but were happy to see one had been allocated as my wife has issues with stairs. We only booked the room and then added the evening meal. We are still getting over the shock , just shy of £100 for two meals and that was with 10% discount!. We didn’t qualify for resident prices as we only ate in on one night.
