The Steam Room and Sauna were out of action which wasn't clear prior to booking. The overall cleanliness of the pool area and changing room was low. Outside my room (103) was a courtyard that had lights on all night making it very difficult to sleep, I rang the reception to ask if I could turn them off or if they were on a timer, they were less than helpful and responded 'I dont know, maybe they go off at 11'.... they didn't, they stayed on all night The gym was well maintained and big.

After reading quite a lot of negative reviews our expectations were quite low. However we were pleasantly surprised. For the price we paid £144 for 2 nights I can’t fault it. Large room, good amenities and very clean. Plus you have access to the pool and spa facilities. Excellent value for money.

Grove hotel stay Positives: Executive room, generous size, comfortable bed, air conditioning and fridge in room. Check in smooth, staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Could be improved: Air conditioning was a welcome addition to the room but was very noisy, sounds like it needs a service and the fans put back in alignment. Fridge was also a good addition, it gave a high pitched sound and emitted heat. Perhaps an in-unit fridge would be better? The door to the en-suite was in need of attention, the veneer at the bottom is cracked and peeling, most of the door appeared to have water damage. Food in the restaurant, the starter was described as potato and leek soup, it was actually sweet potato and leek, delicious but not what I expected. My husband and I both ordered the steak, which was cooked to perfection, but we were not offered or given steak knives. The restaurant staff were attentive and polite when engaging with us, however they grouped together for a laugh and joke in view of and within earshot of the guests. It is lovely to see they have a good rapport, but not very professional.

We had a short stay, staff was nice. We left very early to the airport, only 22min away. Hotel looked great but couldn't use facilities because we checked in late. Tried to use the pool but they have an adult only policy after 8pm so my teenager wasn't happy. There was event on at night, it was a bit loud but managed to sleep, but probably quiter on the other side of the hotel. Room was nice, clean and spacious. We paid a small price, it was great for a short stay to airport drop off.

If you want to do anything internet related from your room forget it. I spent every evening waiting 30s seconds for a page to load or videos buffering for a minute every 5 minutes, by the last night i was really getting frustrated. On checking out they tried to avoid giving me a tax receipt by saying i booked through a third party so that they can claim the tax back themselves on the booking. I knew that i paid onsite at check in so that is not the case. When ever staff do that the hotel will get a bad review. It happeneds regularly and it's frustrating when you spend every week in hotels and have to submit tax receipts for work. The showers are too powerful, that's normally seen as a good thing, but it's excessive. If they added restrictions to the pipes to make it sensible they'd save a lot of water and energy. It was crazy hot on the first few nights, i know they didnt say they had aircon, but if they fixed a few thing and had aircon it could be a great hotel. I think that summarises the feel of the hotel, a lack of thought and effort.
