Was somewhat disappointed to say the least. More than half the jets were out of order in the outdoor jacuzzi. No bar service outside. Pool was inaccessible to someone with back issues. The shower outside the steam/sauna wasn’t working. Our room had no view other than a storeroom door and a wall covered in artificial ivy. The shower tap kept falling off. At 1am it sounded like the pool was being flushed out and our room stank of sewage, not for the first time. Grounds are lovely and we did have the pleasure of a peacock at the window at 7am

Have stayed here before. Our visit then was wonderful. It was my wife birthday this time. So should have been special. There was however a very drunk women causing a scene. She was abusive to my wife, had to be escorted off the premises and this marred our stay. Sadly on this occasion the pool was murky with bits in it so we decided best to avoid, and the outdoor terrace area was too full to access. The hotel and grounds are lovely with wild peacocks and well manicured gardens. Worth a visit as value for money

One of the windows in the bedroom didn't close properly which made temperature control questionable. The shower head didn't function properly, but the water temperature was fantastic. The restaurant is very pleasant with comfortable seating and plants within. The food was prepared well although nothing to write reviews about. The rooms are really quite nice, full of character. The on site gym is really well equipped and the indoor pool is good size. Getting to the sauna and steam room are a little tricky but both are available and not far from the gym

Room was smelly and a bit grubby. Same with communal areas, needed a bit of a clean. Would be nice to have a few more towels and to have the tea, coffee and milk replenished. Food was okay and good range of drinks. Pool and gym area was great. Never any staff there though so would recommend to bring own dressing gowns and towels. Could do with better lit up signage outside for night time arrivals.

Really great stay. The public areas of the hotel are very welcoming and the grounds surrounding it fabulous. Room very well appointed and spotlessly clean. I used all the spa facilities which were a real bonus. The staff were really courteous and helpful. All in all, thoroughly recommended.

Arrived in a storm so heavy entrance doors proved a challenge in the wind whilst carrying luggage. Once in it was all fine! Spa and pool were excellent.

Awful hotel. Never done this before but we packed up and went home rather than stay. Room had broken furniture, bed and chair. A wedding was right outside our bedroom window. Loud, couldn’t have blinds open as right in the middle of the wedding, this was awkward for us as well as the wedding guests! We couldn’t sit on the patio and a chef was flipping burgers at our window. They couldn’t offer another room but said they would refund us, have chased this but they have not been in contact.

Cleanliness was not high on the list here. The bannister up to the bedrooms was dirty and sticky and the carpet looked like it had not seen a hoover for quite some time. However the room itself was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was not great and certainly not worth the extra price. Staff were friendly and helpful,

we had excellant value for money staying there on a Monday, very quiet and lovely gardens. There are some areas that need attention before they become tatty, for example the jacuzzi step handle is very loose, the windows in the pool all need cleaning, you can hardly see out of them and the stair banisters need painting.

The hotel is absolutely beautifully furnished and the gardens are stunning. The spa looked lovely, unfortunately I wasn't able to try it out. The room I stayed in was ok. Not that clean and the sheets had staining. The fire alarm light was flashing all night and was just over the bed and kept me awake a while. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a fair one night stopover. If I lived close, ideally I'd just go for the spa and walk around the beautiful gardens.

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I was given a room with a skylight, there was no view, & the shower would be better off with a folding partition, as you were a bit restricted entering and leaving the shower. All that aside, I had a wonderful stay.

The property was clean, and the facilities were great. The food was decent, a little pricey but expected. The noise level can be an issue depending on who are around the area, from my experience very thin walls as I the people next to my room were very passionate on what they were doing and disturbed my sleep. Without a car, any access to other places in the area is impossible. Overall the experience was nice.

Room was comfortable but immediately above the function room where a wedding was taking place. Music was very loud and then there was a lot of noise whilst staff were clearing away. It was after 1am before it was quiet enough to sleep

Lovely, quirky, comfortable stay. Didn't get to use the spa but it looked great. Only slight issue was soundproofing, I could hear people running on treadmills in my room. Still, I slept like a baby on the very comfortable bed. The food is excellent too. It is in the middle of nowhere, 25 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop, with no footpaths, so I spent a lot on cabs getting to and from.

The hotel room itself was nice, but the room was boiling hot and there was no option to have windows open without pulling down a large dark blind if you wanted to get changed. There is no twill or net across the window. In addition the air con was a bit temperamental, and the radiator in the bathroom was on hot for much of the time. Not idea. Otherwise fairly nice. Also the shower didn't have a door on it so the water went everywhere (it wasn't a wet room, just a normal shower cubicle)

We booked a 2nt stay, paid to upgrade to an executive room, lovely view of the grounds. 1st afternoon/evening quiet & relaxing. 2nd afternoon not so much. The room was directly above the wedding area, had to keep the blind down for some privacy so not worth paying the extra. Also lack of sleep due to music, noise and guests banging doors & talking loudly until gone 1.30am. Not very considerate putting us there! Had dinner at the restaurant which was ok but the plants, light up decor needed a good clean as lots of webs around. Outdoor jacuzzi was really nice and pool/spa areas

I stay in a lot of hotels. I’m in the top 1% in the UK according to Expedia. There’s nothing wrong with this Hotel but it needs to sort a few things out. My room was very cold. I heard more than one guest mentioned this the Wi-Fi in my room was practically non-existent And the walls are very thin.

Great check-in, easy and polite. Logged me into the wifi straight away. My executive room no. 18 was furnished very well and decorated with style from the owner with a middle eastern tasteful but lavish style which continued throughout the rest of the hotel Amazing view from the rooms massive feature windows. The bathroom was large and ,i was very happy with that space. Althoigh it would have benefited with inderfoor heating or the towel rail being able to switch on. I like a warm bathroom! The bed was comfortable inc the pillows! Massive TV and chairs that were ideal .

On my second time staying at this property and I was extremely disappointed. On one of the warmest days on record, I learned the front desk monitors the air conditioning for the room. The quality of the iron left rust stains and a black substance on one of blouses. I had requested just bar service instead of full housekeeping and nothing had been brought to the room even after calling downstairs three times for just some bottled water. One of the front desk young men bargged into my room one afternoon without announcing and explained that he had the wrong room.. he was attending and emergency from a different room. This was incredibly unnerving for me as I was traveling by myself and some strange man came barging through the door!. Needless to say after talking to the manager on each item, all he could say was "we are sorry". Also your room may be in one of three floors with no lift, so beware

They tried to take £100 off my card to cover room damage, before I even seen the room. It was changed to £50 and then soon reported one of the lamps was damaged and the sink plug didn’t work. They then asked if i wanted to book in for breakfast, when I said no thanks, he then looked at me as of I had insulted him. Customers are clients, not cash cows.

The hotel itself was excellent and newly renovated. Unfortunately it is understaffed and as there was a wedding going on they had not catered for other guests. Hosts at the hotel were so lovely, this was last minute booking for work. This stay turned out to be a mini treat for me. enjoyable swim & sauna, followed by a lovely meal in the calming atmosphere of the restaurant. Room was lovely and clean and I slept really well.

Hotel and grounds really nice. Staff not friendly and cold. No lift in hotel and la k of information. No welcome or information of services in hotel. Take a £50 payment on checking as a deposit and if checking out early no one there to check out or a key box for reassurance that everything ok and deposit returned. The one time there was the room wasn’t checked so holding and taking that extra payment isn’t warranted. Bar shuts early and no set times. Breakfast starts late and if included on booking at £15 charge they make you a disappointing appetite ruining pack up. There is no log or knowledge from housekeeping of any lost property left. Staff no help and clueless on the matter and just to tell you to come back later, wait for a manager to come in, need to talk to housekeeping. Hotel and grounds stunning! It started well and a lovely guy checked me in, very friendly and told me everythjng I needed to know. My partner arrived and we used the spa, average hotel spa and quite busy due to people using the gym too. I didnt sleep much, if you are a light sleeper room 7 isn't for you. There is a noise like a boiler heating up most of the night and a gurgling from the bath. The heaying is VERY loud too. In the morning, I was woke at 8.30 by the gardener doing whatever they were doing for about 15 minutes, then I tried to drift back off, baring in mind my top half was exposed fully as I was in bed, a man just walks in around 9.45. I assume a cleaner but I dont know, he said " oh sorry" and left. Didnt knock or anything just let himself in. Check out is at 11am so this was long before he could just assume someone wasn't in there. I felt violated and embarrassed so I just packed and left without even showering. I didnt feel comfortable bringing it up to the man in reception as it isn't like he could go back in time and stop it, and I didn't want to be further embarrassed whilst I was still upset. I emailed the company from my car still in the car park then left. So that was around 10am and it is 5pm now and have had no sort of reply. If you are a female travelling alone, or your partner will be leaving before you I wouldnt recommend this hotel. The whole thing has left me feeling upset and icky, not a relaxing spa trip at all.

The property was clean, and the facilities were great. The food was decent, a little pricey but expected. The noise level can be an issue depending on who are around the area, from my experience very thin walls as I the people next to my room were very passionate on what they were doing and disturbed my sleep. Without a car, any access to other places in the area is impossible. Overall the experience was nice.

Lovely, quirky, comfortable stay. Didn't get to use the spa but it looked great. Only slight issue was soundproofing, I could hear people running on treadmills in my room. Still, I slept like a baby on the very comfortable bed. The food is excellent too. It is in the middle of nowhere, 25 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop, with no footpaths, so I spent a lot on cabs getting to and from.

A great hotel but not as close to Gatwick airport as you'd think.. Early morning departure to it along very windy country roads via Google Maps was hair raising at times. But the hotel was lovely, if a little eccentric lots of stairs yet lovely wee spa, pool and Jacuzzis facilities. Drinks were expensive but food looked good although we didn't eat there. At the price for our room we got we thought this was a real bargain for such great facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel wifi is required and unreliable but only option as no/very limited mobile network connections.

We only stayed for one night and booked that week - we wanted to enjoy the outside pool (a large jacuzzi type) with the sunshine. Our room was fantastic with two large windows with views to the gardens (which are stunning). Sitting outside was fab. The hotel also has a large outside patio. We didn`t eat in the hotel (we chose the italian restaurant Carlos just next door) but the restaurant looked lovely and attractive with lots of plants and comfy chairs. The lobby is full of beautiful indoor plants very well looked after (i am a retired florist and particularly noticed this) The gardens are beautiful and we could see deer in the field early morning from our room. Would definitely stay again. Close to silent pool, newlands corner etc so great walks nearby.

We had a wonderful meal in the Fork restaurant, the manager Mo was very polite and attentive and helped with a special request that we made. The room was very comfortable and the hotel was superb.

Good for the price. Very higgledy piggledy inside - tortuous route to the room (single room 6 at the top). Very pleased to have a bath in room, and air con too! Room was fine with no problems. Peacocks around site are very loud! Breakfast disappointing cinsidering high price (£15). No service as such and food was lukewarm from buffet. Also no teapots, only cups available. Should be better breakfast!

Hotel looks nice and grounds are lovely, hotel could do with an uplift as looking a bit tired in places. Swimming room changing room floor was very dirty as people allowed in with shoes on and not cleaned. Staff on reception are not very helpful at all, asked if they done room service and was told yes tried to order some at 21.30 and was only then told it stops at 21.00. With the right staff and a tidy up this could be an excellent place to stay

It was a good spa break with my daughters Only issue was that the breakfast options very limited for vegetarian and definitely NOT worth the £15 I was charged I would go again but I would have to go elsewhere for a decent vegetarian breakfast

This is a beautiful small hotel only 15 min from The University of Surrey, where I was helping settle my daughter for grad school (we are from New York). We loved the hotel lobby, the pools and hot tub and spa area, and the room was lovely. I wish the desk staff had provided a list of spa services and let us know about use of the pools (hours and such), we had to google the info. We also would have appreciated a self service coffee and late night snack area on the premises. We arrived late, the restaurant was closed and we ordered food to be delivered. The decor is so classic and beautiful and the gardens and indoor plants are amazing. I would stay here again when visiting the University.

Room was fine but corridors/stairwells a bit shabby. Dead wasps all over one stairwell! Overall stay was fine but be aware no lift and avoid if you have allergies - I asked for no feathers anywhere in the room, only to find feather cushions on the bed.
