It is a lovely hotel and was decorated really nicely for the festive season. We didn’t eat here but the bar area was very relaxed and dog friendly. The staff were very courteous and professional. The views from the hotel are wonderful. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

A welcoming, traditional, impeccably presented hotel in an elevated position with expansive views from the gardens. Geared up for weddings and events. A little lacking in facilities for other types of guests (e.g. a gym or pool), but we had a lovely brief stay. Good food, excellent breakfast. Transport needed to reach the property up a long, mainly single track road - try not to leave when dozens of wedding guests are arriving from the opposite direction!

This is a fantastic hotel at the end of a winding country lane. The staff we're all friendly and helpful and our dog was particularly welcome. Our room was in the coach house with a four poster bed. Very comfortable and warm. Dinner and breakfast in the dog friendly lounge we're great. We would definitely stay here again.

First room (premium) I was given was filthy and extremely worn out. Threadbare carpet, saggy bed and big crack along the bath. I asked to be moved and the room in the main part of the hotel I was given was much better (superior). The food was only just about average and basic. Most looked like it was from the freezer into the fryer. The location and exterior of the hotel are very nice and used for weddings, One was taking place while I was there. Unfortunately I will not use again as I think there are better hotels locally.

The room was very dated. Tile’s on bathroom floor cracked and a smell of urine . We didn’t notice this when we went in the room on arrival because we just put our bags in and left . It was on returned late at night when we went back and used the bathroom that we noticed it so had to spray perfume and opened the window because the fan in the bathroom also didn’t work . The staff were very nice.

Upon checkout, the gentleman at the reception greeted us with a smug look and an unhelpful attitude when we asked if we could check out, as no one had been at the desk initially. However, the lady at reception the night before was very helpful, friendly and gave us a very warm welcome. Cleanliness: The sofa in the room was extremely dirty, with the armrests almost black from accumulated dirt. Additionally, there was no mini fridge in the room and no slippers provided, which was disappointing. Overall the hotel was nice.

Following a positive experience in a premium room, we decided to rebook when attending a funeral. Unfortunately room availability was low and we had to use a basic room. Having been delayed by M5 traffic, we arrived late otherwise we would have complained and looked for an alternative place to stay. The room smelt damp (room 3), cobwebs hung from the ceiling, threadbare carpet, heavily stained chair, leaking toilet, shower which was either scalding or freezing, a shower screen which reached chest height on me, quite literally a hole in the floorboards in the middle of the room and a very poorly cooked breakfast (which was the same problem previously when we stayed). All in all a VERY overpriced room for what it offered and we have chosen to avoid this hotel in the future.

Overall great stay for great price and dog friendly without upcharge! .Big, spacious rooms with nice vibe, and very comfortable bed. Generous breakfast. Staff very polite and friendly. Liked that check in hours was up to 11pm, and last dinner booking up to 9 pm! While overall room was in great condition, couple areas in bathroom needed small touchup cosmetic rennovation. Bedroom ceiling light may be better with soft white rather than white lights. Also convenient location to Brecon Beacon depending on which part you’re visiting! Would stay again!

The hotel is set in a beautiful location. The staff were all very helpful. The room was bright & airy with views over the garden. The room & bathroom were spotless and the bed very comfortable. The only negative of our stay was the shower. The water pressure was very low and the hot water took a while to filter through.

The property is set in a great location. Nice views and very quiet. Very well looked after grounds with good parking. It is used as a wedding venue. The reception area of the property was clean and modern. The bedroom upon first impressions was a decent size, well equipped with a nice view overlooking countryside. However the part of the property I was in had very thin walls and very creaky floorboards. The floorboards on the bedroom actually moved when someone walked down the corridor past my room, and the noise of anyone walking past was very loud. Unfortunately for me the occupant of the adjoining room was a loud snorer which carried on all night and then they were up at 7am chatting (which I could clearly hear) and more constant creaky floorboards! So not much sleep for me! All in all a nice looking place in a great location and maybe other parts of the property were quieter. I wouldn't stay again though.

The location is idylic whilst not being too far away from good road links. The food was fantastic although the fish was on the small side. The woman on reception was a bit testy but everyone else was very polite and helpful. The standard room needed a bit of love and updating but everywhere else looked recently updated. Overall it was a good stay with just a few updates required to make it a better rating.

The room was nothing like as described in the photos, really dated bathrooms with dirty grout and a grubby shower curtain. My premium double also had a bunk bed behind the door!

The stay was great once we had changed rooms. Our 1st room had little or no WiFi and very poor TV reception. We were moved to a different room and all was well. Breakfast was a little shambolic. On the first morning virtually all the hot food was cold, freshly cooked eggs came out and looked like they had been on a hot plate for 20 mins. There didn’t seem to be enough staff, one poor lad seemed to be doing everything, from table clearing to bringing out the freshly cooked food! Having said that the staff were attentive and our complaint dealt with efficiently. The steps down to the restaurant are very steep and a sign needs to be put up to warn you. On checkout the receptionist said all sorted thank you. A couple of hours later I received a phone call saying they hadn’t calculated our food and bar bill and could we settle it over the phone. The wedding was wonderful, the food, organization and attention to detail couldn’t be faulted.

The hotel is a quiet hotel, it’s clean and staff are friendly. I had a meal at the restaurant and paid by card, about 8.30 pm I had a phone call in my room from reception that woke me up interrogating me on what I had for my meal and how I paid for it. I told then I had paid by card. Three days later I check my card and they have charged me for 2 meals this has happened before in this Hotel. I will not stay here again

Communication from the hotel has been non-existant, agreed call backs from the relevant department are never made. Front of house staff and management appear unable or unwilling to resolve, no recognition of the inconvenience this has caused.

Excellent stay in a very nice hotel in quiet country surrounds. Staff were outstanding from reception into the bar and the dining room. Llechwen Hall is now my 'go to' hotel for my frequent business trips to South Wales

The reception staff went over and above to be helpful. The rooms were excellent and it's the best night's sleep I've ever had. Breakfast was amazing too, with all tastes catered for. But the welcome we received from the lovely receptionist made it for me, a credir to the hotel.

Lovely Stay. Paul at the front desk was amazing. We had room service which delivered quickly and was super tasty really reasonably priced. Bed was so comfy and we had the best night sleep. The only disappointment was that I had an appointment booked to meet with the wedding planner. I had even declined a business appointment so I could be there on time and the meeting never came to fruition and I waited in the lobby for half hour before asking to rearrange. I get things run over I would have had liked the courtesy of being told by the person I was meeting they were running late. Luckily Paul was lovely keeping me occupied and gave my a brief overview of the wedding experience. I hope he’s there if we do book our wedding at Llechwen hall

The stay was great once we had changed rooms. Our 1st room had little or no WiFi and very poor TV reception. We were moved to a different room and all was well. Breakfast was a little shambolic. On the first morning virtually all the hot food was cold, freshly cooked eggs came out and looked like they had been on a hot plate for 20 mins. There didn’t seem to be enough staff, one poor lad seemed to be doing everything, from table clearing to bringing out the freshly cooked food! Having said that the staff were attentive and our complaint dealt with efficiently. The steps down to the restaurant are very steep and a sign needs to be put up to warn you. On checkout the receptionist said all sorted thank you. A couple of hours later I received a phone call saying they hadn’t calculated our food and bar bill and could we settle it over the phone. The wedding was wonderful, the food, organization and attention to detail couldn’t be faulted.

The Llechwen Hall is an amazing gem hidden away in the wilds of south Wales. Our two night stay was excellent was very good in many ways, especially the helpful and friendly staff - Emma (restaurant serving staff member) in particular. The only suggestion would be to plan to manage the impact on hotel residents of holding events, such as the "Wedding Fair/Fayre" held during our stay, considering the narrow road/lane access to the hotel, as we had to wait about 40 minutes in line behind about 15 cars with nowhere to go.

The location is idylic whilst not being too far away from good road links. The food was fantastic although the fish was on the small side. The woman on reception was a bit testy but everyone else was very polite and helpful. The standard room needed a bit of love and updating but everywhere else looked recently updated. Overall it was a good stay with just a few updates required to make it a better rating.

A welcoming, traditional, impeccably presented hotel in an elevated position with expansive views from the gardens. Geared up for weddings and events. A little lacking in facilities for other types of guests (e.g. a gym or pool), but we had a lovely brief stay. Good food, excellent breakfast. Transport needed to reach the property up a long, mainly single track road - try not to leave when dozens of wedding guests are arriving from the opposite direction!

Location was perfect for us whilst visiting relatives in the area. Superior room was comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Stay was very relaxing. Great spot for views- we had lovely weather. In the main staff were welcoming. Especially Paul on reception. The approach road just before the hotel has lots of potholes. First room (premium) I was given was filthy and extremely worn out. Threadbare carpet, saggy bed and big crack along the bath. I asked to be moved and the room in the main part of the hotel I was given was much better (superior). The food was only just about average and basic. Most looked like it was from the freezer into the fryer. The location and exterior of the hotel are very nice and used for weddings, One was taking place while I was there. Unfortunately I will not use again as I think there are better hotels locally.

The hotel staff on check in were excellent. Room was superb thanks to an upgrade. The Fish & Chips in the restaurant for dinner was significantly below par. More like a mini fish and chips which the waiter could not resolve.

This property had easy parking and fantastic space. The room was large and clean, with everything you'd need. I enjoyed the room and found the hotel very pleasant. However, there were a few limitations. Firstly, I booked a room for 3 people a month ago and on my drive there, they called me and said 'How big are you, the third bed isn't able to cope with a large person.' To be called on the day of arrival and told that felt a bit shocking to me. We are thankfully very small, but I do wonder if we would not have had a bed if it was otherwise. Further, they asked us if we wanted to book for dinner. We did book for 8. However, when we showed up they asked us to wait in the lodge, after 45 mins, we asked whether we'd be seated soon. They said we could, but they could not guarantee they could take our order for at least 20 mins. Thus we said we would leave because if we waited that long everywhere else would be closed and it did not sound confident we would definitely get to eat in the hotel. This was a disappointment as the staff were very friendly and liked the hotel. But I would stay again as the room itself was good.

Lovely hotel is a beautiful and peaceful setting above the South Wales valleys. Rooms are spacious and wonderful outside spaces and views. Food and drinks were good although we only had drinks and breakfast here. Would visit again and some of the events spaces looked excellent for conferences and celebrations.

Fantastic one night stay in the dog friendly suite! The staff were amazing , nothing was too much trouble. Room was spotless with a huge bed and huge shower with plenty of hot water, shower gel and shampoo and fluffy towels. Would definitely recommend this hotel -amazing views. Breakfast was excellent value for money
