What a lovely conversion of the former stables- very quiet and inviting- unfortunately you have to go up fairly steep stairs for the bathroom- bedroom was beyond spacious with comfortable bed and lovely linens- huge kitchen- maybe would have put in a powder room from all the extra space? The restaurant was comfortable but the server stated they did not do cocktails although there was a full bar- he was quite insistent- breakfast was ample but we felt ignored and service was extremely slow- perhaps lacking staff- a universal problem All in all we enjoyed our stay and loved being able to walk to the river- very relaxing-

Delighted that we chose The Meikleour Arms for our night away. Our warm, large and well appointed room was in the annexe but only a few steps away from the main hotel. Loved the carafe of Sherry in the bedroom for us to sip at our leisure, and shortbread made in the hotel finished the treat. The underfloor heating in the hotel kept the public rooms at a lovely temperature even with the tiled floor and exposed stone walls. We thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast and loved the fact that much of the food was from their estate. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. We felt totally welcomed- including the dog! Thank you ! The interior design throughout both hotel and annexe was of a very high standard and totally in keeping with the profile. It was extremely wet while we were there, with many of the guests enjoying outdoor pursuits, but the whole hotel was immaculate even the flagstones in the entrance hall.

Beautiful estate in an extremely bucolic setting. Lovely stay in one of the cottages. Be aware there is no air conditioning for the hotter days but open windows with a provided fan did the trick. Nice walks along the River Tay and grounds. Breakfast was serviceable. Could do a bit better with the porridge. A bit stodgy and seemed like a mid of whole and flaked oats. The staff a breakfast were efficient and lovely. Dinner menu was varied and well executed. Beds were quite comfy in our cottage and the common room was spacious and comfortable. Kitchen stocked well enough for 2 people. Parking right in front of your cottage. Great stay. Will be back!

We stayed in the walled garden cottage. It was lovely inside and very clean. The facilities were good although we couldn’t operate the oven and thought an idiot’s guide may be useful. We visited the pub on one evening but because we were only having a drink we weren’t allowed to sit at a table. This meant we had to sit at the bar on tall seats for a good period of time as we’d ordered a bottle of wine. I could have understood if the place was full of people eating but it was half past 5 and empty, as people had obviously booked for later. As we left, tables were still empty. This did not spoil our overall stay as the accommodation was great and the staff very friendly.

Stayed in one of the cottages for 3 nights. There is parking outside your front door. It was lovely. Had all the amenities and were stayed in for evening meals after the first night at the restaurant. Had a washer dryer and full kitchen. Bedroom was roomy with lots of wardrobe space. Bathroom was big with over the bath shower which was powerfully. Would have benefited from a grab rail. The hotel itself is a short walk on a tarmac path that is mostly unlit around fields until you get to the road. But you could drive if that doesn't appeal. The area is very peaceful and behind the 4 cottages is a path through the woods down to the river. Breakfast in the hotel has a small continental selection and a choice of hot food. Staff are friendly.

I booked a room for myself and my partner at this hotel, very last minute, as a spur-of-the-moment “date” after getting home from a somewhat underwhelming week in Spain. Neither of us had ever been to Meikleour before, even though we only live down the road in Dundee. From the moment we pulled into the car park we had huge smiles on our faces. The building and gardens are beautiful. Well maintained, tastefully dressed and immaculately clean. We loved the style and character of the place. No detail had been overlooked. The food and drinks are unbelievably good quality, we want to come back and try everything on the menu. The service cannot be faulted, all staff members were polite and appeared to actually enjoy their work. The room was lovely - we stayed in Lunan, in the annex - very peaceful, comfortable and with little details like sweet sherry for our arrival, hand made toiletries and a deep bath. We are back home now and still smiling about it. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful the Meikleour Arms is, and we can’t wait to come back! We discovered only when heading to bed for the night that my heroes Bob and Paul stayed here not long ago which, for me, was the icing on the cake! Also, Lure is now in my top 3 real ales of all time. Thank you for everything!

Stables 5 .Lovely cottage in a restored Steading set back from the road and close to the river Tay. Modern and very well appointed, with a small garden for dogs, warm and traditional - contemporary decoration with a french country feel. Wonderful bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. In fact, perfect for us.

Such a lovely place set in the Countryside near Dunkeld. Nice homely feel about it. We stayed in a cottage across from main building which needs a bit of a paint to freshen up as the kettle area was a bit shabby looking. The bed was very comfortably and the bathroom very warm which was lovely now it's getting colder. Nice soaps etc,... lovely touch with Sherry and homemade biscuits. I would like to say the breakfast was so lovely, their sausages are all gluten free and taste delicious!! So much tastier, really fresh eggs. We would definitely stay again. Staff all helpful and it was a lovely meal at night, very nice menu.

We had a wonderful stay. Our accommodations were in the 2 bedroom 2 bath stable cottage. It was beautifully decorated and the bathrooms seemed to be new. The breakfast, included in your rate, was wonderful and the dinners were also wonderful with excellent service.

This hotel has five star reviews but it didn’t deserve them. it is immaculately clean and the staff were excellent. However, the quality of the food was poor. Breakfast offerings were limited and not great quality either, tho the restaurant boasts awards for food. The cottages are a minimum of 15 minutes walk away. They are huge but lack any charm. We were disappointed as we expected it to libre up to its reviews. The surrounding area is fabulous.

We booked for a 2 night stay in one of the cottages and had a great experience from start to finish. This is our fourth time staying here. Accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff at the hotel were all excellent, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is excellent, lovely food we ate there both nights and breakfast is equally as good.

The staff were very helpful and polite and the food in the restaurant very good. We stayed in the Keith room which is next to the reception office and not far from the kitchen service area due to having our dog with us which was too noisy for me personally. That was the only negative in a very enjoyable stay and would not stop us from returning.

Stayed in one of the cottages for 3 nights. There is parking outside your front door. It was lovely. Had all the amenities and were stayed in for evening meals after the first night at the restaurant. Had a washer dryer and full kitchen. Bedroom was roomy with lots of wardrobe space. I booked a room for myself and my partner at this hotel, very last minute, as a spur-of-the-moment “date” after getting home from a somewhat underwhelming week in Spain. Neither of us had ever been to Meikleour before, even though we only live down the road in Dundee. From the moment we pulled into the car park we had huge smiles on our faces. The building and gardens are beautiful. Well maintained, tastefully dressed and immaculately clean. We loved the style and character of the place. No detail had been overlooked. The food and drinks are unbelievably good quality, we want to come back and try everything on the menu. The service cannot be faulted, all staff members were polite and appeared to actually enjoy their work. The room was lovely - we stayed in Lunan, in the annex - very peaceful, comfortable and with little details like sweet sherry for our arrival, hand made toiletries and a deep bath. We are back home now and still smiling about it. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful the Meikleour Arms is, and we can’t wait to come back! We discovered only when heading to bed for the night that my heroes Bob and Paul stayed here not long ago which, for me, was the icing on the cake! Stables 5 .Lovely cottage in a restored Steading set back from the road and close to the river Tay. Modern and very well appointed, with a small garden for dogs, warm and traditional - contemporary decoration with a french country feel. Wonderful bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. What a lovely conversion of the former stables- very quiet and inviting- unfortunately you have to go up fairly steep stairs for the bathroom- bedroom was beyond spacious with comfortable bed and lovely linens- huge kitchen- maybe would have put in a powder room from all the extra space? The restaurant was comfortable but the server stated they did not do cocktails although there was a full bar- he was quite insistent- breakfast was ample but we felt ignored and service was extremely slow- perhaps lacking staff- a universal problem All in all we enjoyed our stay and loved being able to walk to the river- very relaxing-

We stayed in the walled garden cottage. It was lovely inside and very clean. The facilities were good although we couldn’t operate the oven and thought an idiot’s guide may be useful. We visited the pub on one evening but because we were only having a drink we weren’t allowed to sit at a table. This meant we had to sit at the bar on tall seats for a good period of time as we’d ordered a bottle of wine. I could have understood if the place was full of people eating but it was half past 5 and empty, as people had obviously booked for later. As we left, tables were still empty. This did not spoil our overall stay as the accommodation was great and the staff very friendly.

We could not cancel booking nearly 1 week ahead. Dealing with their computer (Only) and no individual to contact. We did not have a UK phone. Tiny print on their robo replies. Prepaid booking a big mistake - I am disputing the payment via Expedia and their AI Robot is also very difficult - treats me like a robot and does not understand my cause for cancellation. (Medical emergency).

Meikleour Arms is a unique inn on a large estate (hence "Arms," which refers to the coat of arms of the estate owner. Cozy inn, delicious meals (venison from the estate, for instance), lots of personality. We loved staying here, and fishing with Ian, the "ghillie" who put me onto a beautiful sea trout and taught me how to cast a spey rod.

Such a lovely place set in the Countryside near Dunkeld. Nice homely feel about it. We stayed in a cottage across from main building which needs a bit of a paint to freshen up as the kettle area was a bit shabby looking. The bed was very comfortably and the bathroom very warm which was lovely now it's getting colder. Nice soaps etc,... lovely touch with Sherry and homemade biscuits. I would like to say the breakfast was so lovely, their sausages are all gluten free and taste delicious!! So much tastier, really fresh eggs. We would definitely stay again. Staff all helpful and it was a lovely meal at night, very nice menu.

I booked a room for myself and my partner at this hotel, very last minute, as a spur-of-the-moment “date” after getting home from a somewhat underwhelming week in Spain. Neither of us had ever been to Meikleour before, even though we only live down the road in Dundee. From the moment we pulled into the car park we had huge smiles on our faces. The building and gardens are beautiful. Well maintained, tastefully dressed and immaculately clean. We loved the style and character of the place. No detail had been overlooked. The food and drinks are unbelievably good quality, we want to come back and try everything on the menu. The service cannot be faulted, all staff members were polite and appeared to actually enjoy their work. The room was lovely - we stayed in Lunan, in the annex - very peaceful, comfortable and with little details like sweet sherry for our arrival, hand made toiletries and a deep bath. We are back home now and still smiling about it. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful the Meikleour Arms is, and we can’t wait to come back! We discovered only when heading to bed for the night that my heroes Bob and Paul stayed here not long ago which, for me, was the icing on the cake! Also, Lure is now in my top 3 real ales of all time. Thank you for everything!

We booked for a 2 night stay in one of the cottages and had a great experience from start to finish. This is our fourth time staying here. Accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff at the hotel were all excellent, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is excellent, lovely food we ate there both nights and breakfast is equally as good.

We based our stay on that and made dinner reservations but they had sold out of the Sunday roast by our reservation time. We would have prepared or planned better if we were advised about this.
