Casa Del Mar

We enjoyed our 4-night stay at Casa Del Mar. Everything was excellent from the accommodations, equipments (small but nice pool + gym) to the service quality. The property is very well set, near Santa Monica city center and the beach/Pier. No cons to highlight : lobby lounge is very nice, F&B is very good, rooms are nicely decorated…. Excellent stay as I said !

Doorman and valet were great - pricy at $65 day but worth it - clean property - bar and dining is together - it was nice but with the live music just know it is hard to hear over a table - view was great - food was fabulous! Room was beautiful. Lots of light and comfort and great stock of things to use or purchase of you forgot something. As with many places, the homeless in the area is a problem. The complimentary car anywhere within 3 miles saved the day. The pier was not the place to be at 9 pm with two women - the folks will say safe and don’t worry lots of police but all we found was an empty cop car - and we were harassed twice - to the point of crossing the road twice, confronting the man following, etc. maybe different in day or maybe we should have asked other women instead of men if they thought safe. From Vegas, so high tolerance for crazy - but this was scary where I was concerned for the safety of my daughter. Like we said, being able to call for the car was a dream! Lots of great restaurants in the area and a walking distance. Rental bikes and jogging trail along the beach amazing. We enjoyed the room, but would not likely come back to Santa Monica to stay - it is not what I remembered. The property did everything they could to make it a great stay. For business, we would stay here again. Note to self - stay away from shop. I’m going to follow mamas advice on what to say here. Front desk - perfect!

Wow I’ve been to a lot of 5 star hotels & hotel Casa Del Mar surpassed & exceeded in multiple ways. I’ve never before, checked in so early in the morning… they checked us in at like 4/5am. That’s crazy early for any hotel. & I can can’t be more thankful for that courtesy but also they gave us a very late check out. The whole team is sophisticated, professional, personable & eager to make your stay special. I got the most basic room & I thought it was gorgeous & very comfortable & amazing bathtub. Room service was just as delicious & excellent portions like this he main restaurant. Loved in room dining. Highly recommend the *fresh crab eggs Benedict & the avocado toast was surprisingly more delicious than expected. The food is an ultra high point. The food was always on point. The prime rib dinner in the restaurant was absolutely generous & each component was again cooked with love, care & skilled hands. The 2 complimentary drinks included in the resort fee were so tasty. We loved our stay & can’t wait to come back. Front desk team was really on it & did so much for us. Again they truly accommodated us more then any 5 star hotel or any hotel I’ve *ever been to. That’s saying something. It’s hard to be surprised sometimes but they gave us Maximum room time & sent up chocolate covered strawberries, sparkling water, champagne, fruit plate. Everything literally everything they gave. THANK YOU & I will always rave about this hotel. & VIEW from the POOL & hot tub is a paradise

The best hotel I have ever been to! From the incredible staff, beautiful amenities, including bike rentals! Had the best time!!! Spa was fabulous!

I stay here three or four times a year for three or four days at a time. I like the welcome staff on the door, the front desk, I love the shop, it has excellent things, I wd open a cafe where you can get cappuccino and muffins etc on the go that wd be helpful. Love the books in the room and the rooms themselves are very consistent as is the service. Superb location. Gym cd be bigger and better equipped but it’s fine.

Exercise facilities and free bicycle access to beach

We stay here several times a year! The staff & service is exceptional. The room service steak & cheeseburger by the pool are two of our favorites! The pool overlooking the beach & beach access is a rare find in LA.

This is a beautiful property but very expensive. I don’t mind paying a lot for the room but everything had a huge charge on top if it. $25 for bubble bath, $40 for daily valet parking and a resort fee. When you are paying $1,000 a night fir a hotel these things should be included in the price.

Exquisitely appointed rooms, top-notch staff, beautiful ambience, perfect location. Our stay at Hotel Casa del Mar is one we won’t soon forget. The only thing I found strange is no direct beach access from inside the property. You have to go through the front of the hotel, or a side door at one end of the hotel. Not a deal breaker for us. However if you prefer direct access, their sister property next door, Shutters, offers that.

The hall carpets were stained and dirty looking. The manager acted lik I was annoying her. The maid texted me about my room then didn’t clean it. The waiter at Catch was not good. He never took our drink order. My room was so noisy from the machinery of the cooling system I had to put Kleenex in my ears and take a sedative to sleep. This is supposedly a 5 star hotel and the price reflects that but overall it was a terrible disappointment. . My room was tiny. I’ll never go back.

Location, friendly staff, beautiful room and clean hotel

The room was small with stained carpets and extremely noisy - despite twice complaining about guests upstairs jumping on the ceiling at night no action was taken. And despite providing written feedback to the manager on departure I received no response. For this experience, the hotel is very over-priced.

The staff is super polite and the hotel is beautiful. I guess it depends on what you are wanting to get our of your stay. It was also super clean which is not as common even on other high end hotels. The food wasnt bad but it wasnt great either.

Gorgeous hotel! From the minute I had a personal escort to the check in desk to my final exit I was so well taken care of and treated like royalty the whole time! No request was minor or detail overlooked. My room was beautiful, very clean and elegant! The “cleaning fairies” as I’m calling them would swoop in even if I left for 15 min to grab a drink or take a walk, and tidy up and freshen the room. It was magical! I’ve never seen a hotel staff that fast or efficient. The kindness was what really stood out to me with the staff. My favorite person was Margarita whom took all my room service orders and made me laugh every time. I looked forward to our chats daily! The fresh orchids were so beautiful I obtained a little collection of them in the room to brighten the space all week long from each meal. Gorgeous touch! Bath amenities are top notch! Leave yours at home no need to pack they have you covered in luxury! Bathroom far exceed my expectations and towels were fluffy and soft not hard or crunchy ever. Views of the pool and Ocean were a bonus and yet I never heard any noise outside. Very quiet and relaxing suite. I will definitely be back and look forward to it! Thank you!

Very Luxury Hotel Very clean and very nice room with ocean view

Paid about $800 for a king size with a city view, didn’t really get much city view since the windows were pretty small, I might also add that the room is also quite small for the price I paid. the menu for dinner lunch breakfast are quite expensive, $22 for a toast? overall the staffs were pretty nice and professional.

Lovely hotel! Beautiful lobby especially at night by the fire with music playing. The room was one of the most beautiful with the most delicious bed and tub. They offered tub amenities like salts and bath bombs. Recommend a cabana in the lobby at night for drinks and dinner. Look forward to returning!

Ocean front and the rooms were great

This hotel is lovely. The location to the beach and the pier was perfect. The staff were incredibly polite, attentive and helpful. Restaurant recommendations from the concierge were spot on. The decor throughout was beautiful and the rooms felt more like a home and not a hotel. We would have given 5 stars however the windows might be original and need updating to block out the noise from the street below. Overall we were impressed with this hotel, our stay was very memorable and we will definitely stay here again!

Staff was great. Location is perfect. Go for the ocean view room. Not a big room but very, very nice.

The room was ok but right next to the maids supplies so not as quiet as I would have liked.

From start to finish, the staff makes you feel welcome and they are always friendly and helpful. White the hotel has been there for a while, It seems like new which indicates they are very serious about upkeep. Room was spacious and well decorated. The common areas are all lovely.

I had a room that was next to a large event so unfortunately- despite the beautiful room- I was awaken at 6:00am to music

We loved this property , the staff in every single area from front desk to housekeeping to restaurants were amazing. So friendly , couldn’t do enough for you . Absolute please to stay and would 100% recommend.

The service and attention to detail is above and beyond. We’ve stayed here last year and continue to book this hotel every time we’re in LA. It’s by far our favorite hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The staff was nothing impressive however, concierge was pretty rude and did not explain the details clearly. Any time I asked a question I felt as though I was bothering them.

Location is excellent & we have enjoyed our trips in the past. This time however, the hotel switched one of our coastal view rooms to a pool deck room (downgrade) and failed to provide statements for the duration of our stay- 2 rooms x 4 nights. We definitely have questions about the charges to our credit cards. We have called several times and have left several messages for accounting and now the general manager, without any results. This is very shady behavior. Also, we were denied beach chairs which should be included in amenities (they were last year) so we would definitely like a refund for that!

Lots of homeless in the area while I was there a homeless man stabbed a passerby. Great location for beach and staff was excellent. Food was ok! Shrimp I got you couldn’t peel them. Breakfast is ok wish they had a little more to choose from i stead of same of the same

Probably one of the best in LA. Service was impeccable. Lovely room upgrade, staff were great. Hotel is in a great location.

It’s a lovely hotel, there is a $55 a day resort fee, which you don’t learn about until check in. Great location, but it’s on a public beach, so public passes by all day and night, didn’t bother us, but I could see how some people would be annoyed by that.

The property was in a good central location for Santa Monica. Walkable distance to many local areas

Beautiful property adjacent to Santa Monica Beach and pier. Plenty of walking pathways. The staff were outstanding and always available to help in addition to being so friendly. Beautiful rooms and service.

AC took forever to cool the room. An hour late on check-in. TV remote didn’t work. The fish ordered at the restaurant was really dry like beef jerky

Beautiful hotel, safe, convenient, excellent food and staff….super beautiful rooms ..pool, watch sunset from the pool overlooking the ocean. Will definitely be back! Superb hospitality and every single member of staff who worked here ensured I was well taken care of, and fed. I loved this hotel. A numeric rating isn’t available, that’s how beautiful it was! Beautiful hotel - but the food service to the room was really really slow and the dining in general was a disappointment. Great service people but the menu is undesirable and the food not well cooked. The restaurant never appeared to have enough guests and it's for good reason. We prefer buffet breakfast and they did not have that and the menu options weren't great. I think for the number of stars and price - they should really improve their food.

Everything was great besides the breakfast was slow delivery and food lukewarm which was the only disappointing.

So nice room and very friendly staff, but the food is terribly not worthy for five stars hotel.

Everything about this hotel was incredible. Every little detail was thoughtfully considered. The rooms were beautifully decorated and had everything you need. The service was top notch. We honestly did not want to leave. They definitely make you feel like a queen/king. I will definitely be back. And the food was absolutely delicious!!!

Room was lovely, great bed, large tub, bubble bath items, delicious lounge food. Breakfast was AVERAGE and service at brunch odd. But front desk was nice overall. I would say evenings MUCH better than day time staff.
