It's tucked away in an odd little area behind a Safeway. That said, the staff were nice and helpful and everything was clean and worked as promised; staying on the ground floor was a nice change as well. Outdoor pool was clean, though older. The hotel was adequate at best. They DONT have microwaves in the rooms. instead they have common microwave out in the common hallway area by the elevators. there was also 1 or 2 in the breakfast area. The breakfast was subpar... The eggs tasted like what I would imagine Styrofoam tastes like. Biscuits were good. no complaints. However the gravy that they served was WAY WAY WAAAAAYYYY to salty. They only had sausage links for a few days, during the two weeks I was there. But they prepared them in a very small crockpot, and they were dried and in most cases would potentially crack your tooth if you bit into it. The room accommodation's were pretty small. They did have a mini fridge in the room, which kept my water bottles and energy drinks pretty cold, so I appreciate that. The first room that they assigned to me had evidence of bed bug activity. There were no lives ones that I found, but there were spots on the mattress and on the frame of the bed and the wall as well. The new room didn't. But the bathroom in the new room had a loose toilet seat that came off several times during my stay. The valve to turn the shower on was SOOOO difficult to pull out to have the shower work; and the hot water took literally 17 minutes from the time I managed to turn it on, to the time it was even lukewarm and bearable to stand under the shower. The bathroom towels were ripped, frayed and had funny smells, and they were NOT folded properly on the towel rack. The laundry was frustrating.

Television would not work for the first 4 days even with us complaining, Staff argued with me when I attempted to see why the Television would not work and why the sink would not drain properly, Could not sleep due to the bed was uncomfortable, The swimming pool was not open at any time. Pool was disgusting and we asked if the pool was operational when we made the reservation, it wasn’t after being told it was. Toilet won’t stop running. Room smells like smoke. Extra fee to check in 40 minutes early. Bathtub is about as gross as it gets. Pillows are the size of throw pillows. The lady checking in was nice and polite. I don’t think anyone was selling meth in the parking lot, so that’s a plus I guess.

This place was disgusting. The pictures on the website are not even close to what you walk into. There are stains on the beds, floors, and walls. Was told they had no quarters just because they didn't want to open a roll. Was also told there were no towels but when you went to the basement thats all you saw was a room full of towels. Dirty welc ok me mat was a good clue. Dirty carpet in the hall. Piece of wall missing in bathroom. Sunken mattress. Stained blanket. Couldnt find our reservation through Expedia. Found room fairly clean. Bathroom filthy. TV did not work cable box kept shutting off and would not turn back on had to unplug it to reset then it would work for awhile. Trash in public areas full and not emptied. Rugs in public areas dirty and looked like they hadn't been professionally cleaned in years. Found out that this building was built in 1964 was renovated in 2004. Hotel is in need of renovation again. During my 2 night stay heard others complaining about cleanliness and booking issues. Staff was distant and rude. Do not use any dairy products in fridge during break fast I seen fridge temp at 70 degrees with milk and yogurt in it. All said this place was not clean and I will not stay here again. Paid 325.54 for 2

We were in a room beside the lobby, and about 6 am until we checked out at 8:30 it sounded like a bowling alley in that lobby. It turns out the lobby has tile that is raised in the middle but at the edges of the tile is recessed down to the grout and when people pull the luggage cart with hard plastic wheels across the lobby it sounds like a bump bump bump about 40 times while pulling it across to get luggage outside. The title was pretty but not a tile to pull carts across. The hair dryer didn't work, only one set of towels, so we asked for a second set of towels the brought a bath towel while we went out to dinner so I had to ask again about a hand towel and wash cloth. The spring center that holds the toilet paper in place was absent so they just set it on the toilet which meant we had to set in on the tub edge when in use. I mean what hotel does not keep a few toilet roll spring centers in their basic maintenance closet. They could at least put soft rubber wheels on the carts that would be a quick fix but until they do no one is sleeping in the first 5 rooms from that lobby once people start checking out or in.

Hvac didnt work. Wallpaper pealed. Hallway hasn't seen a carpet scrubber in years. Multiple cleaning carts left in hallway preventing smooth entry to lobby. Several rooms being cleaned left doors open revealing staff laying on bed watching tv. No washcloths and only 1 towel for 2 people in bathroom. Overall very shabby. Wont stay in any Days Inn again!

We booked for 3 nights. No house phone! No sign on counter with cell-number to call front desk. They don't want you to bother them. Dirty building, hallway and carpets, used feminine products beneath furniture, torn wallpaper, shower wouldn't drain, dirty walls, towels were old and threadbare, no bath towels. Waited 20 minutes in lobby for an employee, so we could ask for towels, so we could shower the night we arrived, only to be told they didn't intend to provide bath towels until next morning. We used torn and stained washcloths and hand towels to get dry. They refused to acknowledge they were unreasonable in not delivering towels. Told us if we didn't like it we should go somewhere else. We got almost zero sleep. Finally able to find a different hotel for the remaining 2 nights. They refused to give refund.

Check in was very slow. The process took 15 minutes once it was our turn. No towels. Said they would be delivered and they never were. Had to ask front desk again. Only 2 bath towels, no hand towels or eash cloths. TV didn't work. Had to ask front desk, again, to stop by. He couldn't get it from working and said we would get a partial refund. When we checked out, we were told a manager would need to issue a partial refund. Called and left a voicemail with the manager. The property seemed understaffed.

They had sold my room prior to my arrival. I booked through Expedia, the desk attendant sold it to a walk-in. Luckily she had a room that was available. These people don’t really try. Nothing worked in the rooms. It smelled in the elevator. We called for someone to come and fix the things that weren’t working but no one came. There was only one towel in the room. The phone didn’t work so I had to go downstairs to get a second one. We arrived at 2:00 pm but they wouldn’t allow us to check in until 3:00. We did not like anything at this property. There was trash and weeds outside. Had we not made reservations and prepaid we would not have left our car. I did not feel safe. Checked in. Went to room. It was dirty. Bed was very small for 2 people. Mattress was gross. TV did not work. Went to desk. Receptionist came to room. Stated TV's not working in the entire hotel. We were to stay for 2 days. This was not communicated to us at check in. Asked to speak to the manager. Told she is out of town. Given phone # and email. Never responded. Asked the receptionist why she doesn't contact the manager. She stated she was not permitted to do so. Terrible customer service. The pictures that show this property are not accurate! We decided we were not staying in the hotel because of the dirty room and not feeling safe. Booked this from out of state. We relied on the website pictures.

The hotel was Not even the problem. Expedia was the worst. Its Sturgis time and it’s already very busy in this area. We booked rooms for our drive back home and we got here at 8:15pm and walked into a lobby with 3 other groups trying to check in through expedia reservations and not one reservation was in the susatem. I felt terrible for the desk staff. She was taking calls from expedia, dealing with customers, and still trying to remain calm. I was put on hold for 10 minutes so the expedia agent could “call the location I was trying to check in at “ and she got back on the phone after 10 minutes to tell me she couldnt get through.. I was standing here the entire time waiting with the hotel staff because expedia said she could not talk yo the hotel from my cell phone. I stood at the frint desk waiting for expedia to call the hotel and not once did the phone ring. I mentioned this to the expedia “manager” and she could not even tell me the number she called she instead kept giving me my confirmation number telling me thats the number she called. I will NEVER recommend Expedia nor will I ever use Expedia ever again. This is regarding Days Inn by wyndham East in Rapid City SD. Great customer service at the front desk, the hotel itself, im glad I just have to sleep here for a few hours. Yikes! Expedia sucks!

Upon check in (45 minutes task). The desk gal was rude, irritated, and confused which room she put us in. We finally got the keys to rm 128, and had to go back to ask for towels and she claimed we were in the wrong room,and she had already taken towels to rm 213 whch she claimed was the room she assigned to us, but she wrote we were in 128, and even explained it was end of the hall, by the pool.And the key let us in without error. Upon entering we noticed black tape over the missing peep hole on the door, peep hile was completely missingThere was no privacy to the bathroom the lock was gone ,with a open hole where the door would latch shut, had to put a shoe against it to keep closed. The ceiling in the bathroom was wet,with crumbling dry wall which fell all over the sink in the middle of the night. (Pictures taken)towels were stained yellow like they were used and not washed. Pool was green with algae, like it was kept maintenence for a fish aquarium (noone used the pool)! The window was missing the screen and lock and you could crawl in if someone wanted too,(1st floor and also have pictures.) Lock was completely missing from inside to allow you to lock it for your safety. Over all condition of this hotel was awful, and the amount of money we paid was disheartening. 500 for 2 nights and we had to feel,unwelcomed, unsafe,and cautious for our health and safety. I hope someone does read this, and takes this serious. Thanks you for your time.

Locarion is fairly central to SDSMT and golf courses. However, the facility is somewhat run down - the carpeting at the entrance and the floors could use a massive clean up. The only edible item for breakfast was waffles, no fruit or yogurt or eggs. One morning, there was no breakfast at all because there was some sort of altercation between some guests and they destroyed the coffee and juice machines.

The property had weeds growing all over outside. It was like pulling into an abandoned hotel. The rooms were noisy and you could near your " neighbor's " TV very easily. Dark and rather dinghy. But it was a good locaion.

Worst night sleep during our 10 day vacation. Strong cleaning smell in whole hotel and noisy AC fan. Dated everything. Breakfast was all white bread. Parking is a bit hidden in back. The parking in the area is shared among business's so it's not just the hotel.

Breakfast was disgusting. The waffle batter was so thin you could drink it. And the maker had a drip pan under it that was full of grease and I don’t know what else. Then it didn’t even cook the waffle all the way through. There was an hour left of breakfast and they were out of biscuits and gravy and eggs. The property needs maintenance and updates. Our exhaust fan in the bathroom wasn’t working. The motor on the fan was seized up so made a loud buzzing noise when turned on the light/ fan combo. The room and bathroom were dirty, especially the floors. The breakfast area was dirty and the supplies weren’t refilled in a timely manner. Won’t stay here again
