Located in beautiful grounds, very quiet at night with no road noise for a great nights sleep. The room I was in was very spacious with a huge comfortable bed and pillows. Evening meal in the bar was also great, a cut above the big chain hotels, with friendly service from the bar team. Breakfast however, was not so great. The fresh coffee was great, but the orange juice Was more buffet than freshly squeezed. Cereal options was limited, no granola or other high quality cereal on offer. I made a mistake with eggs Mexicana, I was expecting in the same as hotel Du Vin do, freshly smashed avocado. Unfortunately, this was cheap puree out of a bottle which a horrible vinegar presence. To be fair, the full English looked great though. I did not have time to complain directly to the team as I was running late. But they will know now. They do have 4 EV chargers which is great, albeit they charge slow. Still really useful and comparably cheap.

If you’re disabled or just an older guest beware the rooms have not been reviewed by an appropriate person. I found the bathroom a death trap. No grab rails in the shower but the worst was the slippery floor in the toilet with nothing to grab onto when struggling to arise from the toilet. My husband had to help me but not before on making an attempt my feet slipped and I finished up with a nasty fall and a now painful back. At 2am I had to ring reception I was frozen- the radiator didn’t work and I couldn’t sleep the duvet was Summer weight, I had my coat on the bed and wearing tights and cardigan. Eventually I decided to contact reception or go home. The young man sorted my problem and brought me a portable heater and mended the radiator. He was very pleasant. The phone of course didn’t work I had to use my mobile. Otherwise the room had a lovely view and was large and I’d love to return . The staff were very helpful and pleasant, I feel it fair to warn other future guests.

Nothing remarkable about the hotel, but the listed “high speed WiFi” was non existent which caused issues on a business trip.
